READING star Jem Karacan’s contract talks have stalled.

Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham, along with Turkish sides Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, are monitoring the situation on the 22 yr old midfielder.

Is anyone else concerned with the fact we are generally being linked with only championship players? I hope they do the trick but I am sceptical... AVFC till I die!

I share your sceptimism! Im not against PL signing players from lower leagues as long as PL signs players who do have prem experiance along with them. Im also slightly concerned that we seem to be more than willing to pay 'big money' for these lower league players ie Lowton
£3m ish (according to reports) an cresswell could end up costing £6m which is a lot of money and a risk for a championship player, so i hope PL is not expecting to much from them, as i think that could be a costly mistake an not just in financial terms >scg87

I appreciate my fellow fans sceptimism although i honestly dont care where the players come from providing their hungry and play through their skinto make Villa a force to be reckoned with again as this is something we've been lacking since Barry,Milner,Young and Downing left

Rumour has it tha MOn is chasing his signature. As he is from that part of the world maybe he would prefer to link up with MON again. Let's also not forget that he only really had one good season at Villa and we got a great fee for him plus he didn't want to stay. Do we really want him back ??

Theres problems with Guzan's work permit thats why there's talk of him goin on loan. An the fact he didnt come back to england with the squad has lent some weight to that story, hope we get it sorted tho! >scg87
