Apparently Emmanuel pogatetz is set to have a chance to join villa after we are making a bid (apparently)

I just don't understand anymore first of all we had 10mill to spend but now in a recent interview someone asked lambert 'are we likely to see any players joining villa by the end of January?' And lambert responded 'not really, no'

So why are we always being linked with people it's pointless because there is no chance they are going to join

Ed any truth in the Emmanuel pogatetz transfer? Or just another rumour? {Ed001's Note - he was offered to the club, and lots of others, no idea if Villa showed any interest though.}

He said he might sign one or two people but basically has said Lerner has pulled his funding & said he won't pay the excessive January fee's.

Lambert never reveals anything to journalists in fact he leads them all over the place and in general is very good at handling them. he has made a few look stupid as well

In my opinion I think rl should call a press conference or a general meeting for the fans to openly discuss what his intentions are for the club because at this rate fans will start to turn there backs in frustration and we will lose a lot of money cause there whole set up looks like a preparation for life in the championship. It's either hand out or get out for rl ...................

Rl is a billionaire with a huge ego he doesn't care what a load of fanatics think/want he is mainly motivated by business. He has missed out on 100m if we go down though because he didn't want to invest. Europa league revenue if we had won the capital one cup is 15m I think and 70-80 mil for next seasons prem sponsors and so on also you get more prize money the higher we finish in the prem. but Lerner is not a football we need a directer of football eg graham Taylor or Ron Atkinson to advise him of this sort of stuff. Faulkner seems a bit scared to ask for anything.

last minute merry go round..
bent will go to stoke . with upson and palacios coming other way... all loans with view to purchase. I think this story could have some legs..
been working in stoke all week.. it hot talk as stoke want players off books before purchase too.

Face it randy is content with us going down so why would he spend money and why would anyone sign for us!! Save the signings for our push for the championship next season

Why would Randy plan to spend should Villa be relegated! Where are you coming from? How ridiculous! Football whatever you might think is a business! It's not a computer game where Villa start the season with 1 million and clubs are happ to buy your players. I want to see players coming in and Villa picking up points! Villa is still a big club and could attract good players. Upson let's be honest with ourselves is not a positive signing!

Could probably get Upson & Palacios for £3-5m together & Bent could sell for more like £10m. Bent will never be seen in a Stoke shirt.

Randy has lost the desire to spend big premiership wages and fees to keep us up that is the main point...;whether he just hasn't got he money, or just is fed up with emptying his pockets or has lost his heart for the club...not sure...he just doesn't seem as commited anymore

Fact 1 villa are always late in dealing with transfers, now this does not mean they are not active but there is so much more that goes on other than phoning a club and buying a player .
Fact 2 if any of you have half a clue about villa and football in general you would all agree that both upson and palacios would more than benefit our team in our current situation, and before you all start shouting off these would not be my 1st choice signings either but they are both experienced pros that villa could get within our buget for around 5mil for the pair myself I think this would be a cracking bit of business right now.

In a ideal world I would rather hangeland and diame but these 2would cost us between 8 and 12 mil

Hargreaves would not be a good signing! We need players who are available, not constantly injured! Hargreaves of 10 years, fantastic. Who rights this stuff! I'd be surprised, if many Villa fans would disagree.

I can't see why we don't sign abdolauye ba on loan he would help solve our problems at corners with him being 6, 6 and strong in the air. Good with the ball at his feet as well. Also an out of favour ball winning cm on loan for example jake Livermore, Tom Huddlestone, Wilson palacios. We are getting rid of Hutton on loan so use his monumental wage to loan someone. Give me strength utv!

It's very clear... Villa are not going to sign anyone. All of this speculation is just that. RL is planning for life in the Championship with a reduced wage bill

Agree 1000000% with the last post. Learner isn't bothered if we go down. He doesn't want to push us for europe so what's the difference between being in championship or bottom half of prem!!
