Ex-Braga boss Domingos Paciencia today emerged as one of several candidates who have stated their interest in the vacant Villa manager’s job.

The 43-year-old led Braga to the 2011 Europa League final and was most recently in charge of Sporting Lisbon but was sacked by them in February after they fell well behind Benfica in the Portuguese title race.

This 1 interests me even though i dont know much of him but place him the same bracket as OGS and Poyet.

I'd be happy with either Poyet or this Pacienca

Agree7 Disagree1

This 1 interests me as well, haven't heard much about him though but he has a good record and could be a dark horse for the job!

Agree2 Disagree1

Or he could do an AVB job.
Move over to England & screw up.

Agree2 Disagree1

The difference with chelsea is the expectation to achieve

According to the local paper bookies are now say Benitez is now favourite for the job

Believable10 Unbelievable6

It must be horrible to support a small team like the Villa that can't fill the ground and can't pick a decent manager with the skill it takes to finish in the top half of the league, All the fans do is moan demonstrate and call for managers head, 4th in three years, And then expect a manager who has done better than the crap you have had to leave his club and come to a dustbin ground with a load of binmen on the field

Agree1 Disagree12

^^ Typical Blue Nose, hope your having fun in the championship. **** off small heath the city is ours!

Agree12 Disagree0

Who said I'm a blues fan then

Agree0 Disagree12

Your stupid comments prove ur a bluenose, enjoy the championship

Agree10 Disagree1

Your obviously a blues fan.If we fill half of our ground we double the amount in that dump st andrews.typical jealous blue nose.Enjoy the championship again!!!

Agree8 Disagree1

You're either a blues fan or that delusional norwich fan who is never off this page saying villa are a small club, when really you're just crapping yourself incase we get your manager. Sorry to say but if Lambert and Holt leave, you will be playing with the blue noses next year in the championship.

Agree6 Disagree1

Holt on a £5000 a week pay rise and a new3 year deal he's not going anywhere neither is Lambert, If I were Martinez I would stay at Wigan, Villa,Liverpool, owned by Plastic yanks who only want the clubs to make money, they are not interested in the fans or the effect it has on your city you are doomed with the yanks

Agree1 Disagree5

So if Holt is on 15-20k a week you think he'll turn Everton done if they offered 20k-30k your living in cloud cook-koo theres no such thing as player loyalty no more its all bout the money

Agree2 Disagree1

May I ask the poster calling us moaners and a small team to define what is 'a small team'? Having done that, then provide evidence and statistics to support that, and then maybe, maybe, a proper debate can ensue. Until then stop embarrassing yourself with your ignorance, petty jealousy and plagiarism (look it up!) of stuff on Blues web sites!! Think for yourself, and form your own opinions, it really doesn't hurt.

Agree2 Disagree0

Poor Norwich supporters who like to have a pop on here about the Villa having one bad season. So much to learn about the Prem League. You get a decent manager or a decent player and they will be gone in a flash once the bigger clubs start sniffing - simple as that and let's be honest Villa are massive next to Norwich- Agents rule, players rule, cash rules, loyalty and fans mean nothing. Sorry to burst your bubble but be prepared for a season of struggle and if we don't have your manasger and best player, someone else will

Agree4 Disagree2

Well..... the so called 'dustbin ground' hold thousands more than both birminghams and norwich's grounds and even when not full still attracts larger crowds than those teams. and im sure darren bent would have something to say about being labeled a 'bin man'. {Ed007's Note - Oh I'm sure he would be distraught at it.}

Man Utd are preparing a £10m offer for Aston Villa youngsters Barry Bannan & Cieran Clark.

Believable8 Unbelievable15

And pigs can fly....

Agree11 Disagree4

This could happen. But Bannan isn't really in the style of a prawn sandwich but Clark is a different matter. Would ???? sell?
Already approx £10m saved on wages with departure of Hesky, Cuellar & Guzan.

Agree3 Disagree3

Although id rather save £7 mill and still have Cuellberg

Agree4 Disagree3

I can't see anyone else leaving before the new manager is appointed myself

Agree4 Disagree0

It's not 10m saved with the 3players gone its 7.8m and just for the potential of the 2 Bannan and Clark there worth more than 10m i'd be asking for at least 20m if p.jones is worth 16m and henderson worth 16m and carroll 35m

Agree6 Disagree3

Not good enought for any prem club thats why he's with you

Agree2 Disagree6

Barry Bannan is as strong as my 13 year old nephew! Championship player through and through. Clark is a head and shoulders above him in class and height. I'd expect 4 mill for clark and anything from 1.5-2 for bannan.

Agree2 Disagree3

It is a fact Man U have been looking at Clarke for nearly 3 years

Agree1 Disagree2

Bannan is without a doubt one of our most skillfull players at villa with pin point passing and good skill on the ball, You need only watch him when their warming up,
Clark is by far our best defender and I see him doing a Barry playing a couple of years in defence before moving into midfield full time.

Their both youth extremely talented prospects easy worth 18-20m

And anyway were getting alot of Blue noses and canaries on here lately next it'll be latics to i think your all scared of losing your managers as they would rightfully jump at the chance of managing a BIG CLUB even if were in a transition period which we'll no doubt come through and be strong again just like Newcastle did.

Agree2 Disagree1

After failing to win a trophy, United will aim higher than Clark

choo-choo the Brend Schuster express train will be arriving at Villa park later this week! choo-choo...

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Isn't that make of bratwurst German sausage u sausage he'd want about 50 mill to spend not happening I'm afraid

Agree3 Disagree0

Doesn't fit the criteria (again!)

Agree3 Disagree2

Not a chance

Agree3 Disagree1

Be ideal if you cud spell his name and he is not young so he wudnt stand a chance

Agree5 Disagree2

Who is this complaining of someones spelling? Cud/could, wudnt/wouldn't. Pot, kettle, black comes to mind!! But back to the original statement, wait and see, you dont know, I dont know. Lerner doesn't know.

Agree6 Disagree1

Bernd Shuster will not become new manager you got more chance of mr blobby been given the job

Agree5 Disagree1

I wouldve appointed mr blooby ahead of mc clueless, big dave dublin

Agree1 Disagree0

Who said we have no money to spend? Lerner is worth over 1.5 billion quid. As I see it we are getting wages down to comply with FFP, so we can buy talent as MON paid Champions League wages to Championship players who have finally moved on. We will spend this summer, and get some Bosman's also and we will finish in the top half next season. We have got our house in order early.
