Linked with Chris Gunter, Hemmings from Scotland and Danny Williams from reading, would Defo have Gunter if amavi goes, class wing back can get forward an is solid defensively, seems like his got the right attitude/ enthusiasm from watching him for Wales, don't know much about the others, Scottish league a lot easier than prem and championship so don't know about Hemmings but Danny Williams sounds the part from the press reports.

Hey ChirsAVFC, my first post so go easy on me! The link with Williams is not bad but I don't rate him any better than Westwood, Sanchez, Gardner all of which have pledged to stay. Don't know a lot about Kane Hemmings but he's young, voted their player of season and is cheap at 1m, Gunter is a Right Back is he not? So losing Amavi wouldn't make a difference, be interesting to see what line up he goes with though, Gk still needed and Replacement for Amavi if he goes, I like Elphick and Okore/ Clark for season, out with Lescott, Crespo, and? On Hutton, Richards, Cissokho. Would love to see Assombalonga and Gayle at the Villa, really think Assombalonga is under rated, a real Heskey/ Les Ferdinand type player.

Oh I didn't realise, would still be happy with Gunter as replacement for the Bacuna/ Hutton combo we've had the last few seasons. I think he'll go with 2 up top but with Gustede as one of them so think we need to look for a quick nippy striker to partner him like Gabby when he first broke through, Gayle could fit the bill but reckon we'll end up with Bamford or Wilson.

Hi villadan4life!

My concern is why people want to replace Hutton?
Bacuna, I agree! But Hutton might not be a cultured footballer, but his commitment and never say die attitude is great for villa, in my opinion he was our player of the season last year! (Some accolade I know! )
And the way he stood by villa through his expulsion he deserves more.

Think Hutton would get the recognition he deserves if we didn't keep switching between him and Bacuna, if Hutton was given a stretch of games with the same back 4 I think he'd cement his place as our number 1 right back. However I'd still bring in Gunter to give him some competition to keep his performances the best he can, and if injuries occur Gunter is a lot better than bacuna.

I kick a ball on the park with my dog.
He's better than bacuna.

25 Jun 2016 15:38:52
Never met your dog Flackie but wouldn't doubt his ability to megs Bacuna.
Hutton deserves credit for his performances last season when surrounded by the worst shower to wear the shirt. Even more credit for being benched in favour of Bacuna and still remain focused and play the way he did.
Can your dog play left back? Reckon we are in the market for one.

Four footed my dog!
To be fair, might match gabby on pace and appetite as well!
He's more loyal than a Klingon, and has no social media.
It's a win win as far as I'm concerned! .

Don't shout too loud Flackie Man C and The Bin Dippers will be scouting him and putting a £15 million bid in.

Haha fingers crossed.

I rate Huttons commitment and courage but he cannot cross a single ball successfully. Also far too often he's found out of position which with a run of games maybe he'll find form.
Having looked at the predicted lineup for the new season Micah Richards is favoured as right back.

26 Jun 2016 14:17:57
Richards should be one of the first out the door, his lack of commitment, and leadership, and unwillingness to play in the correct position is one of the main reasons we are where we are.

And I disagree totally with you on Hutton.
90% of the time he is our only out on the ball,
He is our biggest threat going firward, as was the only one willing to pass forward and attack.
And his poor position is because he had to cover a poor defensive line up, with a keeper with no confidence, thus doing the job of 2, sometimes 3 people.

Poor crosses, can't argue with that, but no worse than anyone else in that side, and his main job should be to defend.

Hutton was found out of position because the players around him were stagnant, when he goes forward on the midfield 3 (usually gana, Westwood an veretout) should move across to cover him but they never, when his the biggest threat we've got you can't stop him going forward he just needs better players who can read the game better around him.
