everyone keeps point the finger at the board but the problem is with mons signings warnock dunne and mecleish,s madness hutton! we cant get rid of them and not until they go we not going to get anyone,if we can get rid of them i can see maybe 3 or even 4 more signings! if it does not materialise and we are in trouble come january then money will be spent to get what we want now! we are not in a position where we can have our cake and eat it but after those have gone and free up funds we shall be a force again!

i for 1 am behind the whole project !!!!!!

Love the positivity!:D

It's ridiculous that our clubs transfer policy has come to a complete standstill because of Warnock, Dunne and Hutton. Warnock and Dunne are in the last year of their contracts, Hutton was 2 million pounds. Just give them away or cancel their contracts and move on.

What is the cost of losing Premier League status - 90 million?

Agree4 Disagree0

With AVFC failing to make a move for Johnson, maybe it's time we admit to ourselves we simply can't compete with most prem clubs when it comes to finances!

If we can't sign a quality player like Johnson for £10m then where does it leave us? Will we continue to sign championship or league 1 players who may do a job for us but are not good enough to move us forward!?
What players can we afford? Phillips?
T Ince? Olsson? Rhodes? Zaha? Even they will cost £5m-£6m ish an keeping in mind only 1 of them have played prem footy they would be a gamble, does not look good for our season! I'm not looking forward to the everton game, that's for sure!
>scg87 {Ed005's Note - Yous spent money under Martin O'Neill though and brought in some good players who played well for you like Downing, Young, Milner etc.! Have Lerner's finances dried up?}

Agree5 Disagree0

Hate to be so negative but not signing Johnson or not even showing interest is soul destroying especially when it's Sunderland who have signed him!

I'm worried that if we can't afford 10m to sign a class player like Johnson then what kind of players will we be signing? Hoolahan? Lol
£10m? Will be the second best bargain of the season behind Michu!

Agree5 Disagree1

I would say 10% of MON did well the rest were awful or not given a real chance ie Reo Coker, Cuellar who for some reason insisted on playing them out of position. Cant wait to see Fletcher play right back for Sunderland

Agree2 Disagree0

Huddlestone would be class signing and as for striker bent is world class we aint gettin any better its the service albrighton is a shower and so is gardener give samir a run now

Agree3 Disagree0

Pull you heads in! From the outside it looks as if Villa have been working over the last 12-months to establish a workable wage structure (forget transfer fees for the moment). Johnson is a good player - but he carries the baggage of a MCFC wage packet. which over 4-years will have the potential to kill Sunderland's financial fair play ambitions.

We are always going to struggle to attract someone from obscene (non-viable) salaries to Villa Park.

If that keeps us out of the market for over-paid squad players - then we will have to develop alternative strategies to attract players in our price range.

If you want to pay over the odds - become a Leeds or Pompey fan, or hope that the sugar-daddies do not get bored.

Agree3 Disagree1

Well we need to attract someone decent because as I write this we are three nil down to the toffees and being given a football lesson and getting battered. The squad and players we have just can't cut it

Is the injury to gary gardener the reason why the huddlestone loan to stoke as hit a snag, could be pl has jumped in with an improved offer

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Very sad about gary gardener-but i dont think we will be signing anymore players-i would love to see a quality striker, but never mind!

Agree2 Disagree3

Huddlestone is not going to make a great difference. He is often injured, not quite to the same extent as Jenas, but pretty often.

Think its better to steer clear from all Spurs players, we have had a poor run with them.

Waiting for a gem or two from Germany or from the Dutch/French league.

One striker and perhaps a winger or creative midfielder. Clearly we will need cover at the back if Dunne/Hutton and Warnock are all shown the door

Agree4 Disagree2

Bad run with Spurs players, all but Walker...

Brillant another injury, now gary gardner is out for 9 months. so more important now than ever to get more bodies in or savage is going to be proved right.

Do you think that it would be a good deal for the villa to sign huddlestone with his deal breaking down with stoke? if we could get him match fit i think he would be a brilliant signing for the villa

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Fantastic player would love him at villa, plus gardners injured for the season so we need him!

Agree6 Disagree3

Exactly even more of an intensive to sign him with our squad not being the biggest as it is and i believe that we might sign a few more players but its not how many villa sign its the quality of the players more than anything

Q] Any truth in the Kenwyne Jones and Jermaine Defoe rumours?

A] I can say that's not going to happen. I have seen the rumours linking us with some players but a lot of them aren't going to happen.

From Lambert Press Conference

Stoke will sign Free agent Michael Owen and Birminghams Nathan Redmond and Chris Burke using funds from Kenwyne Jones transfer to Aston Villa

Believable2 Unbelievable9

PL has already stated he will NOT buy Defoe or Jones Thank God. We need better and although PL keeps his cards close to his chest, it does suggest that villa will not get a Marquee CF or MD but may get 1 more average players before deadline day. I just hope Savage was wrong

Agree4 Disagree4

PL said he wasn't intereseted in defoe or jones today

Agree4 Disagree1

PL has stated that there will be no moves for jones or Defoe.

Hate to say it but other than possible outgoings our transfer business may be done

Agree3 Disagree1

Duno if you saw the news conference earlier Paul Lambert has said Aston Villa will NOT sign Kenwyne Jones
