Villa have already signed Ben Foster on a pre contract. According to a villa source he was at the training ground a month ago sorting the deal out, this actually makes sense bearing in mind we let Friedle go which wouldn't make any business sense as you don't get rid of your keeper if you don't already have a replacement as it is obvious you will be quoted inflated prices by other clubs
We didn't let Friedel go, he left on a free.

Rumour has it in and around Birmingham that Jermaine Defoe will be making a move to Villa Park for around £8.5million, as Tottenham look to make way for the signings of Drogba and possibly one more top striker. Mcleish's second option to Defoe would be Pavluychenko, who he tried to sign for the Blues.
One more transfer that looks very possible at this moment in time is Charlie Adam, but don't expect anything to happen regarding this transfer to middle of August, as he is supposedly holding out for a move to Man United.
