A lot of the players being linked now will no doubt do a job but are very much "meh" signings. Just read on twitter from an account that usually gets things spot on, that we're competing to sign Tom Lawrence on loan, that is a signing that should get everyone excited. Arguably kept Ipswich from any relegation trouble last year, and he does it with some bangers aswell.
The owners twitter seems to imply that there are 4 incomings and about 7/ 8 outgoings, can think of Elmo and Whelan incoming so Lawrence could be one of the other 2. Can't think of 7 or 8 players who could be going, wouldn't want to see veretout go because he's a very good player when in the right environment, amavi I can see the positives with a 8 million plus price tag but attacking wise he's one of the best full backs in the league and without him we have one recognised left back.
Would be brilliant to sell Richards and the like but can't see anyone taking gabby, McCormack has looked in acceptable shape in pre season but his first touch has been awful, if we could get six or 7 mil for him would be good business, hogan kodjia gabby (as he won't leave) and Davies would be enough cover up front.

Just saw Veretout is off to St. Ettiene for 4.5 million, what did we sign him for? I see he AVFC, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year sale is still going. That's robbery in this market, especially after the season he had last year. Something doesn't seem right here, either it isn't happening or we're desperate for cash.

Why the need to drastically reduce the playing squad even at the cost of getting robbed, rather have too many players than too little if it means waiting to get a proper offer. We're being taken advantage of if he goes for less that's 6mil.

If FFP is the reason then we're desperate for cash. To put it into perspective we brought tshibola for 5mil. I don't see the rush in reducing the playing squad, so much so that we end up getting robbed ourselves, would rather have a bigger squad and wait until end of the window or January where we can dictate the price and get closer to what we paid.
He played majority of games for saint ettiene last year, scored 3 goals, finished 8th and got knocked out by Man Utd in the europa league, we should be telling them if they want him permant, as he will be a first team player we want a minimum of 6/ 7mil, if they don't like it then wait till them and other teams are desperate/ panic buying.
Rushing to sell these lads to buy players like Whelan and elmohammedy (30+) is so short term that if this gamble of throwing everything at this season doesn't work then next year we're stuck with OAP's that haven't been good enough for 2/ 3 years, other managers won't want and will be impossible to move on, similar to gabby and Richards.
These sort of decisions mean that if this season doesn't work we'll be stuck in this league in a right mess for years to come. We have to be promoted this year, the business in this window is crucial to that, we can't afford to mess it up.

You can only have a certain number of players given a squad number, with the additional being made with youth. So to keep them wouldn't be cost affective if they won't be around the squad, as wages etc.
Sometimes I guess they cut the cloth accordingly, get players out, to get some in. Not for cash flow, but for numbers.

The chairmen said at begining of preseason that they were only 1 million to spare or else they break ffp,
So we have to balance the books and get rid of players before bringing in other signing,
That's why the transfer deals are dragging on until we get the dough from selling players,
Fair play to Dr Xia he has spent the money since he came in but it's being wasted on average to crap players,
The recruitment has being dire let's face it,
