Downing was terrible for villa just extremely overrated his best days were at middlesborough. I reckon nzogbia is better but if they both have bad years next year we should sell nzogbia and buy downing for 5-6 mil then try sell him on again for another stupendous price

Villa will beat Newcastle to the signature of Carroll as Newcastle struggling to manage a bid of 16m, to Liverpool want 20m.
Villa have more chance of raising this as Liverpool still owe Villa 10-12m for the Downing transfer 12 months ago.
So watch this space Carroll will be wearing number 10 for Villa next season

I would think it would be better for the club stabalizing the wage bill ect and in two three years spend big and try get in the champions league once Lambo has settled down and can only get so much out of the players we have

So then.....Carroll, Vlaar, (both strongly linked), Owen....don't think PL will go for him. Brahimi (fingers crossed), Luuk de Jong (supposedly given permission to talk to us), Simpson ( rumours picking up pace) and Ramis (rumours have cooled off a bit). It'd be great if we signed all of them but I think we'll miss out on Ramis, won't go for Owen, and only get 1 striker out of either Carroll or Vlaar. What do you think Ed?

I think we will get one of either Carroll or Luuk de Jong i can't see us getting Simpson or Ramis i think we will get Vlaar a left back a winger then a striker to end our summer spending but we will have to wait until after the US tour and maybe sell 2 players until any more come in
