when I said villa were looking at the possibility of bringing troy deeney from watford I was ridiculed looks more likely now papers reporting on the possibility last weekend. remember where you heard it first people. its happening.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We heard about the troy deany rumour 7weeks back lol. scg87

Agree3 Disagree1

And guessing the poster was the original poster from 7 weeks ago

Agree0 Disagree1

Tro Deeney is a blue Noses he even has a tattoo he hates the Villa

Agree0 Disagree1

The blues tatoo on his leg? yes he does but doesn't hate the villa! his little bro ellis is villa and he is more concerned about moving closer to his young family who still live in chelmsley wood, with him commuting unless he stays in his flat in watford away from his gf and kid.

Agree3 Disagree0

Deeney used to play for Villa in the youth academy but we dropped him.

Agree2 Disagree1

No he never he played for local team 3 c's then went to chelmsley town where he was picked up by walsall who then let him out on loan before sacking their manager who brought him back to the club and stated playing him, when he started scoring watford bought him for a fee believed to be £500,000. never been on villa books that was his younger brother left back ellis deeney, come on get your fact right.

Agree2 Disagree4

Or maybe you should get your facts right. He was on villas books until he was 15, after that we let him go where he was picked up by Chelmsley Town. Both Deeney's have been on villas books. I suggest you do your research before trying to rubbish someone else comment.

Agree5 Disagree0

Again he was never on the villa books, he left 3c's and went straight to chelmsley town both local teams within a mile of his school archbishop grimshaw where he progressed to the adults team and then got picked up late 17/18.

Agree1 Disagree1

All this debate is pointless he is a nose end of!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee hendrie was a nose, didn't stop him playing for the villa. if a player has ambition to go to a club with better players! who can rule deeney to villa out if we stay up and they don't come up.

Agree1 Disagree0

Gardener was also from the darkside of the city.

With Benteke's agent preparing the ground for a move for our brilliant young striker, what is the likelihood of our chairman doing a Daniel Levy and refusing to sell?
If he does sell, how can he (with any sincerity) claim to have any type of ambition for Villa?
I can understand the principal of putting a block on signings of the magnitude of the Bent deal but only if we subsequently hang on to the successful signings we make at the other end of the financial scale.

If we go down he goes, if we stay up he goes. Unfortunately we are a selling club, with limited ambitions. The MON era was never sustainable this period was inevitable following our attempts and subsequent failures to land Champs League. I wish Benteke all the best and who can blame him for wanting join a club with a chance of trophies. VTID

Agree4 Disagree1

Depressing isn't it

Agree3 Disagree0

Why couldn't villa do what swansea did with michu and tie him down for 5-6 years straight away

Agree6 Disagree0

Its just the agent doing his job and creating a bigger market for his client.

If we stay up, we really need to show some ambition and find a decent buy or two in the middle of the pitch.

Create a supply chain to Benteke so he is getting plenty of touches.

Our midfield is beyond woeful

Agree4 Disagree0

A 5 or 6 year contract don't mean he will remain at one club for the whole of his contract, he won't remain Loyal, you Villa fans must learn that if your manager does not believe in loyalty to his contract how can he expect the players to be, Even if you stay up Benteke will be gone before the new season K/O

Agree1 Disagree2

A 5-6 year contract would mean we could keep him for 3 years and still sell at a massive profit.

where as at the end of the season villa can force another year but as soon as Benteke gets 2 years left he'll be gone as to still maximise the revenue

Agree0 Disagree2

We signed him on a 4 year deal anyway! Also it's not the end of the world if goes is it. Let's face it, he's missed as many as he's scored, a few that springs to mind is the first leg against Bradford costing us a date at Wembley so let's stop making out he's some sort of hero because he ain't!

Agree4 Disagree1

We could do with the money and bring in 3 or 4 quality players in!
im sure lambert will have options to replace him aswell.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is that not the logic that lead us to losing the likes of Barry, Milner and Young and gaining the likes of Sidwell, Nzogbia and Ireland?
Benteke was an absolute bargain. It doesn't necessarily follow that all Lambert buys will come off so spectacularly. Joe Bennett being a case in point
The only way we can hope to progress as a club is if, when we do pull a rabbit out of the hat, we hang on to it and try to repeat the trick
Mendax

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes but one the other hand do we really want players in our side that express an interest in leaving for arsenal a month after joining us?

Agree0 Disagree0

Benteke’s alleged love of Arsenal does not seem to have affected his performances
I am sick and tired of us losing good players based on the maxim that “ you can’t keep an unhappy player”
Exactly how unhappy can you be on 30-40 K a week?
Does anyone really think for example that if we had refused to sell Milner, that after a slight period of unsettlement he would not have simply got on with his job and City would, eventually, have moved on to other targets?
My point is, the unhappy player theory is somewhat overstated
As fans we are making it far too easy for Lerner to sell off our prized assets
We need to demand better from the club
Mendax

Agree1 Disagree0

If he wants to stay then brilliant, if he don't then he should go, we at the club need a influx of players who want to play for the club and help the club climb up the table!

up the villa

Agree1 Disagree1

If we get £30m for Benteke i'm happy.
BUT we have to buy quality again & get some more players who can be as good as Benteke.
But on the other hand - Benteke might want to stay another year & Villa can do that, small-ish wages & a 4 year contract as it stands.

Agree1 Disagree1

And what pedigree have we shown in recent years as far as investing the money we get from selling our best players?
Absolutely none
Lerner wants out and until he gets what he wants he is determined to recover every penny of his investment
