Spurs fan....Huddlestone on a loan to buy, Palacios from stoke for a few mil and maybe gallas on a loan as well...all good deals in my mind.

Don't think you can loan two players, from the same club in the premier league.

Ed, rumours that villa will beat Sunderland to the signing of
moussa sissoko, you know anything more? {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has previously attracted interest from Milan, Arsenal, Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Damien Comolli went as far as letting Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool saw Sissoko as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard - but for some reason the club failed to make the final push to buy the player. Sissoko remains available (as he has done for two years) and Juventus, Aston Villa, Newcastle, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Spurs have enquired - with a tentative agreement initially being reached with Newcastle and Juventus over the price. Juve probably have the edge right now but would much prefer a pre-contract for a summer move whilst Toulouse look to renew his contract. AC Milan may well push for a January cash move with both Marseille and Aston Villa looking to get in with an acceptable offer first.}

Villa looking to bring in Sissoko or Dale Stephens in midfield as both command the same fee 3m and either Cavanda or Blind as a centre back and rumor has it villa look to loan Coutinho in view to buy in the summer for 10-12m

Lambert to outbid forest for BURKE

I really believe that this combination of players would help Villa escape the drop. Question is where we're these guys two weeks ago?

What the hell are these guys waiting for?

Agree3 Disagree2

Coutinho-don't think so. His club need funds THIS window to buy their targets.

Agree3 Disagree1

No there not, lambert has stubbornly refused to buy anyone, PF refused to sanction players at the beginning of the month and now after realising were in trouble has agreed. But it's too late, lamberts scout has decided to go as will lambert at the end of the season

Agree5 Disagree3

Would Sissoko and Countinho, can't see us geeting more than 3 with Dunne and Vlaar coming back midfield is the most important as we are very weak there UTV

Agree4 Disagree1

If it's true that Faulkner refused to sanction the purchase of players early in January he MUST GO. Obvious that he knows "s*d all" about football and, more importantly, what is important for the Villa.

Get him out now before he gets us into an even bigger mess

Agree3 Disagree3

If true, then presumably PF was reluctant to sanction purchase of players because:

a) the decision had been made when PL came in to pick young players on whom the club has spent money bringing up through the 'famed' academy - he would be justified in claiming that 'Plan A' was still 'the Plan' and blame the failure on PL.

b) money has already been made available to PL and he had spent that on certain (also young) players

c) the team has been so inept under PL of late that to throw good money after bad would be madness

d) there is little faith in PL at the most senior level

e) PF is covering his own back when presumably he instigated the move for PL in the first place (?)

If PF was responsible for employing Houllier and McLeish, those would be reasons enough for him to step down. Clearly RL rates PF, although PF must surely be on dodgier ground than usual at the moment.

The bottom line: PF is responsible for the business of AVFC. Poor performances on the pitch equals relegation equals loss of tv money next season.

PF's only answer, short of resigning (which he won't do) is to sanction the sacking of PL. And bring in RDM.

The previous paragraph is hard to type (and not what anyone wants to believe) but true.

There is no romance in Premier League football.

Apparently both Fulham and Villa are after 17-year-old striker Jeroen Lumu who is at Willem II

He is rated at £1m and the report says Dean Saunders (DEAAAANOOOO!) has him at Wolves to run an eye over him.

Aston Villa Have now targeted French international midfielde Moussa Sissoko for a suspected 3 million pounds he would bring a strength into our midfield to.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Toulouse's French international Moussa Sissoko is among the midfielders Villa are considering as Lambert looks to strengthen in the centre of the park. The 23-year-old, who is reportedly also interesting Sunderland, could be available for a cut-price fee of around £3 million with the Ligue 1 club keen to avoid losing him for nothing when his contract expires this summer.

Villa need 2 experienced and matured midfielders and at least 1 of the same for our unstable defence. Either on loan or on the cheap, I see this as Lamberts only real chance of avoiding the drop!
