Villa will only be bringing 2 players during January. The club is actively pursuing several targets but only 2 will materialise.

Guidetti on loan is an option as is Danny Welbeck on loan, to add much needed firepower but the club is trawling to find a midfielder to add some experience and guile.

Big questions... who worthwhile will/would sign for Villa atm, and if you go down the loan route you might buy another 12 months in the Premiership. I know this is the big bucks year coming, but RL doesn't seem to be wanting to speculate to accumulate. Be careful what you wish for... Big Eck had more points, more goals, less conceded and 7 places higher at this time last year. But then again, who will notice if there is the annual New Year slump?

We aren't actually that desperate for goals the only reason we hardly score is cause the strikers have to do it themselves as the midfield aren't good enough to help and are also helping defence Benteke, Bent, Weimann, Gabby and Bowery. that's fine but we lack width and cutting edge. Also a solid spine

You do realise benteke should have had a hatrick in each of the last 2 games? His form has dipped as was expected, which is why PL made a big mistake trying to force out bent.

Villa need people to supply Benteke.
Yes he has missed a few sitters recently but even the best of strikers go through droughts.

im seeing nigel reo coker has left Ipswich would be perfect to add a bit of steel and fight in our midfield, free transfer on a contract until end of season would be ideal for all parties thoughts ????

Legend? that is ridiculous. was a very average player, couldnt run with a ball, couldnt trap a ball and has ended up in at a struggling ipswich for a reason, even though he reckoned he should be playing for one of europes top temas in champo's league... no thanks.never been a 'legend'

Reo-coker was playing games for a villa midfield full of young milner barry and downing, he was putting in solid performances when we were flirting with 4th place! We don't need anybody excellent on the ball cause that's clearly got us no where this season! We need somebody that will provide some cover for the defence!

You need to look up legend in the dictionary bud. he was and is a very mediocre player. puts in a good shift and breaks up play occasionally. but has zero technique and is one of the worst passers of the ball you will see

ReoCoker is just what we need atm. Not the most gifted footballer but we don't need a ball playing midfielder as I think Westwood will mature into that role. We need a no nonsense battler alongside him and ReoCoker is perfect for that. Would have him signed in a heartbeat. A natural leader (by the way he plays).

Okay stop for a second all the people who are putting this off.

Have a look at Villa's midfielders now - excluding Petrov.

a) How many of them have played over 100 games in the prem?

b) How many of them are over the age of 25?

c) How many of the none that fit into both of these categories are better than Reo-Coker.

Stop holding out for a big name that is going to come and save your club, because it won't happen.

You have to sign Reo-Coker just to the end of the season - just to keep you in the Premier League. #Lawyered
