According to Doug Ellis Villa have already been sold. Pray it's true, the sooner it's sorted the better.

Surely if anyone is likely to know it would be Doug.
After all, it has always seemed that he and Mr. Lerner were fairly close.

All seemed a bit vague to me. I reckon he's been reading this site

Yeah I agree Mendax after listening again he changed his tune from 'done deal', 'doesn't know' and 'it's in the lap of the gods' all in the space of 5 minutes. Only thought to mention it as it could have some substance as it is Doug.
Agree5
Disagree6
Lets hope its sorted soon because all transfers and contracts are on hold until a buyer is found and if it drags on, we will be going into the new season potentially with the same squad as last season.

The deal Deadly talks about is all but collapsed. Davis and Simpson were expected to complete after premier league survival but have since lowered there offer, Deadly thinks they will come to an agreement but Lerners statement about for sale has changed that. Davis and Simpson feel let down he has gone public and Lerner feels there time wasting.

Say we struggle to get a buyer, will randy just not invest at all, as that will be the worst thing that could happen. We need investment and we need it quick, I'd be happy to be aston red bulls playing at red bull park, as long as we had backing.

Regardless of who buys us, wouldn't the financial fair play rules limit investment anyway?

Gordon who are david and Simpson exactly?

It wouldn't surprise me if if lambert and faulkner were going out to the states to not only see Lerner, but also a potential new owner

Financial fair play is only for teams playing in Europe, hence why liverpool have lost £90m over the past two seasons and havnt been penalised like city.

So Gordon's grove what happened to Anschutz, your first new owner, which you then changed to Davis & Simpson. Looks like you jump on the band wagon with every name you hear, you've also mentioned Zola as manager and changed it to interpreter. Who's it going to be next?
Agree9
Disagree0
Simpson and Davis own one of teams were going to play pre season, your right I mentioned Anschutz because unfortunately I don't have the privalige of being in Lerners inner circle but like a fool trusted friends who work at the club. If I said the info coming out of the club in the last two weeks was a smoke screen whilst they tried to rescue the deal you wouldn't believe me so with a heavy heart, I won't be posting anymore. those who do I look forward to your posts. Goodbye Villans.

Simpson and Davis own a BASEBALL team - the texas rangers - not a FOOTBALL team in MLS. get your facts sorted

Don't go Gordon.

Im a lambert fan I think he's don well what he's had but if he goes I've heard david moyes mentioned I would have him tomorrow UTV!
Believable7
Unbelievable19
Why have moyes, I do like moyes but martinez has took Everton to another level with their playing style this season, I think moyes would do a solid job but I would rather have someone in the martinez mould who would get us playing more attractive football, moyes style is not attractive
Agree20
Disagree5
Moyes again. I wouldn't even want Moyes as a last resort, he's overrated, so just forget him. If we are to aim high, then Villa should be looking at managers like Koeman or Simeone.

Villa for sale and Lerner put an American bank in charge of the sale. Maybe to make it easy for a potential buyer? (Ellison)
Believable16
Unbelievable5
Think its the same bank that was used when Lerner bought us! so he's obv familiar with them wouldn't read too much in to it been linked to Ellison
Agree5
Disagree3
The bank he's using is to make sure he gets top dollar for the club
Agree2
Disagree1
It's more to do with the investment banker who has been tasked with selling the club, he has exp in retailing sporting brands and is the sensible choice from a US perspective

anyone remember me saying on 8th april villa is sold and it came from a very reliable source? don't be fooled people by the announcement "were for sale" I still stick with my source that we are SOLD not for SALE. does randy really think we believe that after 3 years of struggle, he just decides to sell now? watch this space, new owners to be unveiled this week. oh, and wheres my mate who responded to my post on 8th april saying " you live in a world of your own jimbop"? and its all gone quiet over there.
Believable12
Unbelievable8
I'd love to believe that but why wouldn't Lerner just say something like, "the club is for sale and we are in advanced talks with a buyer" or something along those lines?
I really did assume he'd say something like that or announce a sale because I didn't think there would be another reason to wait after he knew we were safe but obviously I was wrong. He's basically just left us all hoping and speculating and at the moment that all seems to be a waste of our time and pure lies
Agree6
Disagree3
Just heard Pat Murphy of radio . He is adamant that there is no buyer and that this is Lerner putting up the sale sign.
If that is true we could be in a bit of bother. Kenwright has been openly trying to flog Everton for years and let's be honest, they are in a much better position than us
I worry that we will be stuck in Limbo awaiting a new owner that may not come quickly. Can you honestly see Lerner making the massive investment that is needed this summer while he's effectively treading water?
(that's a rhetorical question by the way. I already know the answer)
Agree8
Disagree7
I think you are in dreamland if you think Everton are in a better position than us, we have a better stadium, better training ground and far more of our players are our own, yes they finished higher in the league but half of the squad now go back to their parent club and the stadium is in a position where they can not not improve it so will have to rely on building a new one which is why no one wants to buy them, I think we won't struggle to find a buyer when you consider the assetts.
Agree7
Disagree3
I think what most people fail to remember these days is that these are not football clubs we are talking about but businesses. Is Mendax saying that because Everton finished higher than Manchester United in the league then they are worth more in value?

No longer a rumour, Scrooge states Villa for sale. Hopefully a new owner will invest properly and not expect the manager to buy caviar with fish n chip money. Goodbye to the worst owner in AVFC history. Will PL go with him or will a new owner keep him on?
Believable5
Unbelievable24
How you can say he was the 'worst owner' is beyond me.
Granted, the past few years have been tough but he isn't leaving us in financial ruin like some owners do with other clubs and has had to wait a couple of years for the right buyer to take over.
Agree23

I think Lambert will go. I feel a bit sorry for him with the financial constraints he had to put up with, but that's football sometimes. Hopefully we get a quality new manager in who will bring the good times back to Villa Park! UTV

Sorry mate you talk through your backside, this guy wasn't the worst owner. Only issue I had with him was allowing O'neil to get away with what he did and not putting it right first time when he threw his toys out the pram and walked out. I think his choice of advisors didn't help. Let's hope he sells to a worthy buyer with some idea of the game
Agree22
Disagree2
He ploughed money into it for a good few years, paying ok players silly salaries and o'neills purchases weren't good enough either so to say he's the worst owner is far from the truth.
I just hope we find a buyer soon and someone who has the best interests of the club at heart.

Lets face it at 250 mil asking price its going to have to be somebody with deep pockets if want any new players aswell

How can you mak e a statement about my backside? This used to be a polite site and I always suggest that you only post what you say to another posters face. Lerner He has to be the worst. He is the only owner AVFC have ever had. He has admitted that he lost interest and tha makes him the worst. Very little funding in the past couple of seasons expecting PL to take the stick for poor seasons. Why don't you give yourself a sign off so that we all know who you are?
Agree4
Disagree18
Apparently lerner is looking for a buyer in the next 6 weeks I can't see that happening for a while lambert will still be manager when the season kicks off so lerner won't want to spend money or sack lambert so I can't see much activity happening at the villa until new owner would love larry Ellison to buy the club

What a load of rubbish!
How is a guy who will leave us in no debt and a brilliant infrastructure the worst owner ever!
Gotta say hope he has a nice life with his family now, you have left us in great shape randy, pitty you lost your passion.
Onwards and upwards

Actually is a very good owner. No debt, raised our profile in the community and celebrated our history after Doug Ellis tried to bury it. We have a brilliant infrastructure and has actually made us much more attractive to buyers rather than just leaving when we had a whole load of massive earners. Its been a struggle but our wage bill is much more manageable now and gives a new owner a chance to come in and start almost with a clean slate but with a fantastic base from which to build.
He gave it a go but it just didn't work out. We should actually be thankful that he didn't just keep throwing a load of money at it and we ended up like Leeds.
