Ok. hello one and all!
I just want to throw down an olive branch, wave a white flag, whatever!
This site used to be jovial, sarcastic, heated (but not personal) and informative. now it's like a ghost town most the day! If the eds (Jesus) could do animation I bet a tumbleweed would roll over the screen! .
Now this is because of a few reasons from what I can see, none that need addressing in this post, other than to say, certain people, myself included, need to engage brain, before the keyboard warrior jumps out from their fingers!
We all have a different opinion, doesn't mean your right, I'm right (although normally I am! ) it's an opinion! We are all allowed to have, and give! If we didn't, it's boring!
If you give an opinion, it's fair game for someone to respond, question and debate.
If you can't take criticism and or discussion about your opinion, don't give it! To then argue, insult belittle someone for responding is crazy, and offensive.
This site used to be like chatting with mates, even the eds, (yes even ed07) got involved, I loved coming on and having the psis taken, and also taking it! I rarely come on now, never post, and if I do, I'm ready for barrage, and battle. so my heckles are up!
This needs to stop!
We should ALL be united, we all want the same thing, whether we go once a year, never or every week. We are all fans/ supporting/ believers, whether you live in brum, or Timbuktu we are the same.
I'm drawing a line in the sand, a new start for us all. and I pray we all come together, and the old and new members come back and stay.
Sink or swim we are Aston Villa.
So we got relegated? Let's move on!

I like your opinions, I (as you know! ) don't always agree. but a discussion has two or more sides!
For to long people have been alienated, ostracised and belittled. we are better than that!
The line has been drawn mate.
Hopefully we have all learnt a lesson and move forward.

I haven't got an issue with you Flackie, never had, and I appreciate the sentiment of your original post. But like you say I feel alienated, ostracised and belittled by the extremely two faced KIA who only a few days ago was still ranting on about the same old match attendance issue. He says he's sorry if he's offended people but he hasn't offended me, he's simply forced me out by rendering any point of discussion moot before its even begun. Frankly he's welcome to his empty forum where he is the sole arbiter with his holier than thou attitude.

Thanks Villadaz but don't get used to it - I don't engage with bigots so as long as he is here I am keeping silent on all football matters. I have got no problem if people post controversial ideas or if people don't agree with mine, because the arguments and ideas should stand on their own merit and not on the 'credentials' of the poster.
Its meant to be a bit of fun between fellow fans but KIA has made it a hierarchy with himself firmly on top and its turning this site into an echo chamber reverberating to the sound of his bull****.

Fair comment guys, and if I'm honest, I don't disagree with either of you. I just want this place back to what it was, I didn't make it, you guys don't make it, we all did.
I personally don't hold any malice, and have said my piece. I wish we could all move forward, I'm not saying forget, just to keep certain points and thoughts in a box for another time!?
I miss wisdoms wit, Mendex and his philosophy, kingvillas bullsiht, etc etc
We all added something, and as daft as it sounds, I mean this, it was like chatting with mates! I miss that!
If your in a boozer, and there is a loud yob in the corner, you can leave, ask him to calm down, ignore him, (and he will pass/ move on) or stand toe to toe!
There is only one of these that means only the yob missed out!

I miss it too Flackie. But to borrow from your analogy he's not so much the loud yob in the corner as the bigoted landlord who only let's the right sort in. Whilst I have made a conscious decision to not post while KIA is spouting his rhetoric, I wouldn't be posting as often anyway because real life gets in the way sometimes and you do need a level of information to formulate certain opinions. whilst it may not seem like it all the time I try not to post completely uniformed nonsense :) The fact that we are in the championship makes it harder to follow from the armchair as not all the games are televised and the highlights are more limited. I don't have Sky sports, BT sports etc that you need to get the games so I watch streams when I can, which due to recent family circumstances monopolising my weekends is few and far between.
So I do the best I can with the resources I have and coming here should be a great way to keep up with all things Villa like it used to be. But KIA has made it so I can no longer be involved at all because of his very divisive attitude on who should be allowed to voice their opinions - and let's just get this straight, its not just a throw away comment he made once, this is a position he takes and defends over and over again. He hasn't even once responded to any comment I have posted trying to address this issue because he is not interested in debate, he wants his little tiny invitation only echo chamber for like minded people and he is too much of a coward to acknowledge what he is doing to this forum.
So by combination of belittling people like and me, Villadaz and countless others who can't go to the games and sapping the fun out of it for for the rest he has changed the nature of this forum. Ultimately, who is going to continue frequenting the pub with the equivalent of an EDL rally going on every time you want to drop in for a pint with a few mates?

I just know we are better united than divided. To allow one person ruin it would be criminal.
I wish I had the words to convince your self and others to return.
With a bit of luck, the pub may be owned by a brewery! And perhaps if the takings drop, they may kick him out, or risk the pub closing!

It amazes me that we have allowed one poster affect us this way!
{Ed001's Note - I have been trying, unfortunately the editors are looking after all the sites, so most only dip in and out on sites that are not for their team, to cover when I am not about. So they don't really see what is happening unless it is on their main site. It is why we always try to get an editor for each site when it gets busy enough, so they can keep a closer eye on things and spot problems like this.}

In a way its a shame because I really hate the concept of censorship, but being as he is unlikely to admit he is wrong and not just spout meaningless apologies for offending us easily offended only to bring the same things up a week later, I see no other solution.
Maybe once the January window is open the number of posts and posters will increase and I might tentatively consider getting more actively involved again, especially if there are some threads which aren't dominated by KIA.

If we all pull together, we will get it back to what it was! Just a shame to lose anyone on the way. Even the fore mentioned. Just perhaps some rules or guidelines? If emailed to everyone if poss, then no one can say they don't know! Use a 3 strike rule, when you break the rules
1) a warning
2) a ban, maybe a week
3) total ban
Just trying to come to a solution that gives everyone a chance!
