Whohooo Houllier your new boss, may the
football god have mercy on your team, cause half of them will be gone by
January.

From an LFC fans point of view i think you
have got a good manager. If we had appointed Houllier instead of Hodgson i would've
been as happy because he's very experienced and not a bad manager at
all.
You could have done worse and remember what state our great Club is
in.
Good Luck!

Now it is official, Houllier
is the new manager. I wait to see what will happen on the pitch. Also waiting to see if
sentiment rules over ambition. Will K. Mcd get the assistant or will Houllier bring in
his own man. Again AVFC are making a dogs dinner out of trying to get the best! ! !
K.Mcd did a great job with the reserves but would he be out of his depth in the high
reaches of the prem. I for one think he would be. The selection of Houllier is a very
interesting selection. Many 'pool fans were glad when he went. He asked for studious
football, so I don't think Villa will play kick and rush. What may be a problem is the
performance of the French national side in S/Africa. He wasn't directly involved, but a
player revolt by the French could be replicated at VP with many players in support of
K.Mcd. Players must be loyal to the man in charge, not the man they want. Interesting
times to come.

There are still several of us that have
been around since AVFC actually acheived anything of credit. We have all suffered over
the years and that is the plight of a Villan. The city of Birmingham should have at
least 2 prem. teams capable of winning a major trophy, and my wish would be for all the
midland clubs dislodging the northern and southern sides from the top of the prem.
Unfortunately ALL of the clubs at the top are spending money that is uneconomical to a
real business man. B/city had hoped to get Mittal into ownership, but
failed.
Midlands football is not an appealing option for an investor or indeed
for an oil sheik with no care about money. I believe that in the near future an offer
will be made that Lerner will find hard to refuse and then a money no object buyer may
provide the funds that are needed to propell AVFC into the top 4 or 6 etc. Until then
AVFC will remain in touch but not quite close enough. And the great city of Birmingham
will wait for another? ? years.

Nice to see another villa fan of 70 years
my dad was there when we beat the scum in 1957, we are in need of a striker but will
have to make do till jan. it has been very hard to be a villa fan over the years but i
would like to see us win the prem before my old man moves on . just as things look up
something knocks us down again but that's villa i guess, could be worse might of been
born a birmingham fan.
