So what do we think the starting line up will be for Wigan? IMO we have to start on the front foot:
Gollini (made a mistake but a bad form Gollini is still better than Bunn)
Hutton (best we've got ATM and wasn't one of the poor ones from leeds)
Baker (praying he is fit! If not elphic is al we've got)
Chester
Amavi
jedinak
Gardner (id have him over Westwood just because I think he offers more of a goal threat)
Grealish (scare them, run at them, unlocks defences)
adomah (him and Hutton look a good combination when they click)
Kodja (please play him down the middle! )
Ayew (back in down the left to cause problems with grealish and Amavi)

Remembering we have Norwich on Tuesday where no doubt we will pack the midfield and grealish will probably come out for that one, I think this team will take Wigan apart and send us into the Norwich game on a high. It's about time we got abit arrogant, we are Villa, we have the better squad and the players should think right let's show these the difference!

That would be my team too Chris. Although I would like to possibly see Tshibola given 45 mins and Jedinak given a rest for Tuesday.

Thing is ayew isn't clinical enough to be a striker unfortunately! And mate I like the team and could see McCormack work well up top in that aswell however Bunn in goal? May aswell start the game with 2 goals down, he really is a nightmare, about as useful as a glass hammer!

Yeah Bunn is not good enough. Neither is Gollini, yet. I do feel that he will be a top quality keeper in the years to come, he's learning fast . But for now I would sign a reliable experienced keeper to assist him and replace him from time to time.

Agree also about Ayew . To me he's a quality player with good close control whilst running at defences. But does he have that killer pass or finish?
MacCormack on the other hand is a natural finisher who should NOT be allowed to leave. With 2 new quality midfielders behind him, creating good quality chances, he could still be our top scorer this season.

Problem is if you play two up top your going to get over run in midfield, Fulham were top scorers last year with dembele and mccormack up top, but they were also on edge of the worst defenses because they sacrificed the middle man to get the two up top, its a shame because I think McCormack and kodja up top together would score so many goals!

What has happened to Tshibola. I though he looked good. Perhaps better than Gardner.

IMO 2 quality midfielders, in a 442 set up, wouldn't get overrun Chris.

Thing is Andy you look at all the teams that have gone up easily i. e. Burnley bournemouth they all pack the midfield, no matter how good the 2 for us are, 3 always beats 2 unfortunately. That's just my opinion tho I would love to see a 442 with solid wingers, at the moment we would need a new middle man because I think Jedinak is good enough to be the other centre mid and then a proper left mid, grealish is wasted out there and isn't really a winger, Robbie Brady would be ideal! Then adomah on the right, bruce has said today he's got two deals ready for Jan so hopefully one is a centre mid.
