I am embarrassed to be a Villa fan at the moment.

How can you park the bus and still get tonked 4-0.

I am lost for words how this manager of ours has become a manager, he really is clueless.

We have players who can not pass the ball 5 yards yet still try and lump it 50 yards, how does that work then!

And please don't say we defended well for 60 mins
we were crap for 90 mins, END OF.

Please go Mr Lambert you tried and failed.

We have gone backwards, we need to be released from this shambles.
PL should not be given any more time, If he is given more time TIME WILL RUN OUT FOR OUR CLUB: ASTON VILLA

Well said lambert out now

Agree0 Disagree0

Losing at Man City is not a reason to sack Lambert. Much better teams than us have been spanked there.
Losing home and away to Fulham, losing home and away to Palace. Losing at home to Stoke, West Ham, Sheffield etc. now those are reasons to sack Lambert

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree PL go now

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendax,

Its not just Man city mate, we have talked before about all of this.

I am not saying PL should be sacked because of the result tonight, tonight we should have tried something different, had a go.

But again nothing, the manager is not good enough.

Can you tell me what the point was with his tactics tonight, because I ain`t got a clue mate.

Villadave

Agree0 Disagree0

If that was us going there and having a go because we were safe then God help us all. All he did was park the bus and try to get a 0-0 and we couldn't even do that properly. We must be the only side who can be losing only 2-0 in the 89th minute and still lose 4-0.
The team and the manager are an embarrassment and big changes are needed now.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Villadave
Sorry mate. I can't help you with that last bit
I never have a clue what he is upto
It would appear that neither do his players

Agree0 Disagree0

Again posters are wanting PL out. Again I ask "who should take his place?" There are a lot of managers out there looking for jobs, but you have to ask "Why?"
PL will be in place next season as stability is essential at the start of a new business.
Unless the new owner/partner has contact with Europe and massive money there is little chance of PL being replaced.
Go round the names that are available and ask why. Some of the answers will be obvious to everyone, but will it be Hoddle, Zola, Brown, Laudrup, McKay, Jol, McClaren, Mancini, Villa-Boas, Sherwood, Cowans, Hoolowwat, Curbishley, Bruce, Pullis, Moyes, etc, etc?
The list is long and will get longer.
PL will get the chance and if he is failing after the first 3 months then the new owners/partners will take action as they don't have to stick with the kind of contracts that players have.
Remember, "Better the devil you know than the devil you dont" as we don't know what might arrive.
Canaries were confident that Houghton was going to be better than PL when he arrived, but where are they now.
They plagued our site for months yet it is goodbye this season to the boys from the flat lands.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care about any other team but villa and we need a new manager you accused me of being negative it is you that is negative wanting to stick with PL who has broke every record for the wrong reasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Oldvillan.

I think Laudrup or Moyes would do a job for Villa.

Moyes would probably be the better long term, I would like him at Villa Park to be honest.

Stability is what we need and he is a very stable person, he plays the game as it should be played and with that Scottish grit he has, he would be good for Villa.

He is also a nice bloke, B6 would be good for him.

Villadave

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Old Villan but he has to go
There will be people out there capable of doing a decent job. It's the job of the administrators at the club to seek them out (it's a big world out there and most of it plays football)
The final straw, surely, was the sacking of the 2 coaches.
Either Lambert knew what was going on and condoned their actions, in which case he is as culpable and should suffer the same fate. Or he knew noting about it all. In which case he is totally incompetent and has to walk
It's one or the other I'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone else buy into a theory I have about Sundays game?
Rightly or wrongly- here it is.
Spurs don't like playing in the Europa League with visits on a Thursday night to places like Kazakhstan etc. , for very little financial reward so they give us the 3 points on Sunday so that their Europa league place goes instead to Man. Utd. and Spurs can concentrate on the Premier league next season without any Europa league distractions. Any thoughts?
Clarrie Blue.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not be surprised in the slightest
I'm not suggesting a conspiracy but subconsciously it will have occurred to the Spurs players that the Europa league is a poisened chalice

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax, he will not walk. Nobody walks out on a job unless there is a better offer. There is not a better offer on any table. Unless a buyer with very big pockets is coming in the PL will still be in place as he has done the job he was told to do. Get rid of the big earners and keep AVFC in the prem. You can't sack a man for doing his job properly, unles you give him a big big bag of gold to settle his contract. He is Lerners man and Lerner is an honest man, even though he is a Scrooge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi JK, not said I want him to stay, I expect him to stay unless he is pushed with a big cheque. I have pointed out the options out there for a new manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

When I say "walk" I mean as in "walk the plank". With a sharp sword in his back for a bit of encouragement
Are our expectations really so low that Lambert is someone we should be happy with?
I take the pont that his remit was to lower the wage bill and get rid of the big earners. But, do you really think that Lerner also said " and while you're at it, break the club record for home defeats in a season, buy some of the most useless donkeys ever seen in a Villa shirt, play the worst football that gobby buggah Mendax has ever seen and don't forget to get the coaching staff to abuse and bully the players as that is always good for moral"

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax, Lerner has gone to press stating that PL has followed the parameters that he set and as such he will support him. Whatever PL has done ref. donkeys and home records matters none to Lerner. The question of the coaching staff cannot be commented on as the reality is still under the covers.
Who knows if the parameters were changed and money, £200m+, was given to PL what he would do with the money?
He spent £7m on Bentke, £4m on Vlarr, £4m on Okore, £7m on Kozak, not bad buys, and he spent a lot of small change on hopeful buys. Last year we all thought that Westwood & Lowton were fantastic, this year??
I just think that we have to look at both sides of the coin. OK we have seen the wrong side most of the time.
Lerner bought Villa as a toy to fill an ego of owning a prem. club, but now he is tired and could not care less.
However if he stays as part of a partnership then I do believe that he will protect PL.
The list of available managers looks like it will increase next week according to some press reports when Allardyce gets his p45, and he would want to manage one of his "local" clubs.
Beware what we wish for is all I say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha, I can see we ain't going to agree on this one mate
I wish Lerner would just put us both out of our lisery and announce what is going on

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax, that is the beauty of banter, agreement is rare. I try to be even handed and don't call for anyone to be disposed of for doing what is asked of them. My guess is that you are a working man, and if your boss was to tell you that you had done everything asked of you but you are being sacked, you would feel a bit p ss d off. Not saying it will or will not happen to PL but he has done what he was told.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me a working man? Good god no!
I'm like that bloke on the Cidre adverts
Un, deux, trois

Agree0 Disagree0

Now I know why you are a Villa man Mr Mendax. Style, luxury, joei de vi, you have it all. Have a good summer in your island retreat. Could you be the mystery buyer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha. For Lambert's sake, hopefully not Old Villain.

Well tonight was nothing new, poor defending again, totally out played, out fought and out classed, just a good job we were safe, the thought now of next season we this group of poor excuses sends shivers down my spine. Again men against boys

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why is it that every season it is always us that has to go to the club who need three points to win the league?
Last season it was Man. Utd and this time City and every year we fail to give them any kind of a game and just capitulate. No wonder we are the laughing stock of the Premiership.
Look out for next years fixtures and see who we are playing away at the end of the season and you will probably have the next Champions.
Clarrie blue.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really thought that they tried very hard, and to their credit they held out for an hour.
Solid old fashion defensive formation that worked until the breakthrough.
Okay upfront the was little to offer.
Many teams have gone to MCFC and come away with a worse score than last night.
I don't see where we are the laughing stock of the prem. Most supporters of other clubs actually show a genuine interest and believe that Villa should be well up the league.
We are the ones that laugh at our team, not others.
