as a villa fan, i am fearing the worst of steve mc claren or walter smith getting the job, premier league is not the spl, also mc claren is rubbish, hopefully we get rikjard or benitez, the joys of being a villian

Adam Johnson will surely want to leave City as he can't get a game and a player of his quality moving in to his peak will need to play week in week out. Liverpool have been interested in him (along with every other winger in the prem) and villa won't sign him as long as his high on the a gender of dalglish. Although if Liverpool sign Downing then we'll have a lot better chance of gettin him cus we'll have the money and we'll need the player! 15 million will surely get him and that's about as much as we'll get 4 downing and i believe johnson has probably got a bit more quality than downing plus he's got another couple of years down the line. As well when we sell young that will bring in enough funds to sign a new keeper and a centre half. 5m for given; and 10 million Johnson will sort most of Villa's defensive problems but we'll also have to sign up walker at a price of 7 million. With the sellings of Heskey, Beye, Warnock and other fringe players we wouldn't have to pay much so far. James Collins and Luke Young will fill in the rest of the defence. On the left as I've said Adam Johnson could be a possibility and on the right Albrighton should terrorise most defenders with his skill and dribbling. In the midfield I believe 6 million would be a fair price for Charlie Adam and Fabian Delph is good enough for the big time. With the pace, power and finish of Bent and Gabby 25 goals a fair target.

Daily Mirror reporting today that Mark Hughes is now a possibility for the vacant Villa manager role.
Also on the same page there is a link stating that Villa are not in a rush to appoint a new man, although a deal will be done before the international transfer window opens on July 1st.
