Norwich Fan, I come in peace! Wesley Hoolahan. looks like he's on the way to villa park. or so we hear our end. He is a good, talented player dubbed "the irish messi" by us. however. he's 31 years old, very inconsistant and hates a physical scrap. so good luck! don't get me wrong, he's been a great servant to us, and we will miss him because at times he is magic on the ball. but he won't single handedly save us this year, and he won't save you either, so its a bizarre transfer from our end. But hopefully this will be the catalyst for us to spend our "20mil" we apparently have. well, good luck all, and Judas Lambert!

There you are " come in peace", you spoil it all by your last 2 words.
Cant you be realistic and accept that he wanted a bigger challenge & more personal money.
You would have done the same!

With bigger wages, a bigger club and bigger challenge come bigger demands to get results and perform. I personally think he is out of his depth in the premiership, and reading some of the posts on this page so do most Villa fans.

He may well be struggling but if you don't put yourself in the firing line then you do not improve.
PL has his hands tied by Lerner.
He may well have believed he could get players and develop them but would have expected a little help from the owner without getting the begging bowl out.
All role changes require different problems to be solved and I am in agreement that PL has not been successful in a lot of areas.
A manager lives by the performance of the players on the pitch and frequently they just do not perform. Ask David Moyes how he feels about players that win the prem. then fail to respond.
PL may well be the next manager out of the door but he will have tried to improve himself without a lot of success.
LERNER OUT.

Randy Lerner losing patients with Lambert, it's believed chairman Randy Lerner is "horrified!" with his club's poor home record. It's rumoured Lerner is lining up a high profile named manager to replace Lambert, the name is said to be Gus Hiddink.

This would take a massive selling job by Scrooge.
If he was prepared to fund a move such as this why has he not given the funds PL.
The detractors will say that he would waste the money.
The realists would say that he has not been given the chance.
LERNER OUT!

The idea of a defour, hoolahan, delph midfield 3 sounds pretty good to me, signing defour might get benteke to pull his finger out and hit the net a few times during the rest of the season. well I can hope anyway

Sounds good really hope defour happens quality player but I would rather see holtby the hoolahan spurs got him for 1million so would only cost what 3-4million and he only 23 bargain

Spits only got him for that because his contract was ending at the end of the season and they didn't want to get into a battle for him. he's probably worth 7-8 million

But does anyone really see him signing defour and hoolahan. I personally cant. We will probably bring in some unknown and just hope he is a benteke and not a tonev.

Petrov recommended Tonev to PL. what does that say about Stan?

I like what kind of players Lambert buys, I think he's found some real gems. Bacuna in a midfield position, Westwood, Benteke and at his times KEA are class signings. But for god sakes we play ugly football, I've seen kids pass the ball more then we do.
Defour along with other good named stars better be coming through the Villa door sometime soon before we continue to crash and burn beyond saving.

I honestly don't understand how its this same team that beat Arsenal at the beginning of the season, and Manchester City, and deserved points at chelsea and home to liverpool. PL and Lerner need to sort it out, were not going anywhere with this low budget garbage. i'm all about having young hungry players but you still need experience and star players

Thank God that PL has finally realised that we need that creative midfielder, I don't think that Hoolahan is the answer but i'll take him till the summer. Then megga bucks need to be spent.

Maybe you should consider a new strike force. Benteke has turned into Sick note and his stand in has hardly got a leg to stand on ;)
