Bids confirmed for 3 players, any idea who? If papers were to be believed I'm guessing it would be Hernandez, Morrison and Jedinak! Would all be brilliant signings, read a lot of McNair on loan aswell, need a CB and a RB in my opinion.

How disastrous would it be if we didn't win promotion?

Not my question, was asked at work.
My first response was to punch him, but then he asked, maybe we found our level. In a league you can be competitive in, and have cup runs.
Obviously to go straight back is the goal. But if we didn't. But instead steadied the ship, and drew breath, would that be a disaster?

Now I will put this down to a little pre season mania my friend or maybe there is something in the water over your way.
Promotion is vital for me. We need to be up there where we belong with a decent owner RdM and a winning season behind us.
Cups are not our priority this season we should have one goal to get back in the Prem and then start riding the wave that we have seen other newly promoted clubs do.
Top 2 should be our aim.

Flackie, i think a season of adjustment wouldn't be the end of the world but i believe our chairman has more or less guaranteed our push for promotion with certain investors with financial penalties involved that he has said he will cover, so it seems promotion is our 'goal' above all else this season, just what i've been told by someone who works in the financial sector.

What we should do
Offer benteke 100 grand a week to join us on loan for the season which is 4.8 million for the year.
If he gets us promoted then we have first dibs on buying him outright
If we don't go up ( which I doubt will happen ) then his free to leave and move elsewhere.
Surely worth the risk, question is would he join us?

It hasn't been announced but I assume it'll be Elphick, he was captain at Bournemouth before we signed him. But RDM has a habit of making goalkeepers his captain so Gollini could be a surprise candidate- he was named captain against Cambridge in pre-season.

First post for a while
I have sat and watched the happening at villa park before posting
Looking forward to tonight to see the standard of football or should I say level
If the Dr. Is good to his tweets it should be an exciting if not nervous season
Watched Middlesbrough friendly and gardener looked comfortable as we all did first half but second half was like Groundhog Day with no answer when Boro played behind us
Not moaning
With the 4 signings and more to follow
All will be good
Bit miffed though missing a few of the away games due to Sky changing games and clashing with junior football commitments
