andre villas-boas isn't doing anything, I think it'll show we mean business if we can get him in. Be positive fellow villa fans and trust in dr. X. Who ever we get in I can only see going on to bigger and better thing (al least I hope so)

04 Oct 2016 23:28:04
There's a reason Villas-Boas isn't doing anything. Good reason.

05 Oct 2016 07:29:12
If people think rdm was a risk then what would villa boas be?

05 Oct 2016 08:08:55
Lots of ex managers out there looking for jobs.
Why do we want an O. O. W. manager? They are O. O. W. For the simple reason that they have little to offer.
We want a working manager that is proving himself at this moment.

05 Oct 2016 11:22:03
some managers are out of work because they quit remember, some just felt they didn't want to work at the club they are at anymore.

04 Oct 2016 18:32:43
I just hope that we appoint Steve Bruce. He knows this league very well and will be able to inject some passion into the team. He will sort out our sloppy defending and the strikers will start firing again. I would feel very confident about at least reaching a play off position. I couldn't give a monkeys if he was once at the Blues. He will transform this team.

05 Oct 2016 11:18:25
its not about knowing the league, its about being a good manager.

06 Oct 2016 11:15:04
Bruce is a good manager.

04 Oct 2016 18:24:34
Steve bruce for me if my post gets put on.

04 Oct 2016 15:51:34
I can 'officially' announce that our owner is indeed a Peanut Butter, no doubt about it, 24 carat, full fat not on this planet. he's making us a joke, please end this farce and take a big pill of sanity, before mine finally departs.

04 Oct 2016 17:21:36
Whys that?

04 Oct 2016 22:25:09
I don't think that is fair at all. He has done many things right for the club and invested heavily. He may be a bit eccentric and times but come on.

05 Oct 2016 10:17:35
I'll tell you why i think dr. tony shouldn't be totally trusted; summertime, rdm the 'one', others available but no, rdm is the answer. then before the season starts, the dr. spouts off about trusting him and we're all in it together. he'll keep us updated and a sense of one for all is fostered.

now rdm is sacked, he talks of not wanting him in the first place and how he was 'forced' into the decision because no one else was available. anyone see the disconnect?

now if he can tell a jackanory about that, what else can he be economical with the truth about? just an observation, and by the way, we spent, what? £50 million on transfers?

we got a parachute payment of £37 million, we got £12.5 million for clark and gueye, whatever we got for loaning players out, and the income we got from Underarmour for the jersey. so i reckon dr. tony ain't missed out there.

i'm also sure he's writing the cost of us off against his tax liability. so all in all, i believe he's had it lumpy, coining more than he's shelling out. i'm not digging him out for that, that's excellent business acumen. i just don't think he's playing things with a straight bat, but that's just 1 opinion, each to their own.

05 Oct 2016 12:01:00
Now unless Tony is Lying, he did say that he never spent a cent of the parachute payment.

04 Oct 2016 12:39:28
Steve Cotterill please no no no wake me up when this is all over and tell me it was all a dream and that we have won the CL PL FA Cup and have Messi Ronaldo playing for us oh and Mr Know Nothing has left this brilliant forum.

04 Oct 2016 12:55:27
Never leaving you are stuck with me i will haunt you when you are asleep i will always be around! Me and Steve Cottrell.

05 Oct 2016 10:18:53
Its like we're caught in the 7 circles of hell!

04 Oct 2016 12:31:53
Please not Steve Cotterill.

04 Oct 2016 11:25:54
Mr know it all is quiet, has he not read the papers yet .

04 Oct 2016 11:08:55
I get what you are saying Flackie, I feel that with the players that we now have - and I actually believe that we have a decent squad! - that Sherwood would be a great fit. Think he deserves another chance and could turn it around for us.

04 Oct 2016 11:05:03
AVB is out of work at the minute right? Any takers? Also Marco Silva is a hugely rated young coach who has managed sporting and olympiakos and currently out of a job by his own choosing. Just two left field names. What do people think?

04 Oct 2016 12:56:17
I agree, cpmm84. Both of them fit Aston Villa, and they're both experienced. AVB is the one I prefer.

05 Oct 2016 10:21:56
Good coaches, but somehow i think they're holding out for a spanish vacancy or two to emerge, but it'd be top banana if something happened.

04 Oct 2016 09:36:23
Hi all,

New on here, been interesting reading all of your posts. For me I would bring Tim Sherwood back. He is the only one who brought the best out of Grealish, he managed to keep him in line and I think there was a genuine respect between them. Nobody could have survived under Lerner, Tony is completely different and I think him and Sherwood could work well together.

04 Oct 2016 10:42:50
I agree with what you say, but it's a dangerous road, to just try to appease one player.

04 Oct 2016 11:09:45
Welcome aboard Phoenix.
I like Sherwood as well, Very good motivator, passionate about the game.
I just felt he was a bit naïve tactically to be honest, so I am sure how that would work with the squad we have now.

04 Oct 2016 15:09:58
I agree I'd bring back sherwood, he's been the only coach that has brought a glimmer of hope to us since the MON reign.

04 Oct 2016 09:18:54
I cannot understand Steve Clarke
Had he moved off the bench this season
I gave RDM the benefit of the doubt
New chairman, new players, new manager
Etc
The friendly against Middlesbrough I looked
Over at the bench in the second half when the went 1-2 up
RDM had nothing to offer
He has had the Alex mcleish Remi Garde state of "what the hell do I do now? "
The squad assembled a little in balanced but a good squad and good enough so RDM I thank you for that
Harry Redknapp reckons Sherwood shouldn't have been sacked yesterday
But this from a man with a bank account in his dogs name . Shut up Harry
Steve Bruce is the man
The new chant
"We've got potato head"
He still lives in Litchfield
As Lee Henrie and his missus
All joking apart he is the best of the bunch
Well respected well liked
Very knowledgeable.

05 Oct 2016 18:23:27
Defo steve bruce has always done a very good job wherever he has been players always seem to try for him which is half the battle.

04 Oct 2016 07:52:03
Would love glen hoddle, with all the attacking aspect in our squad, made for him
Second would be Wagner.
but i think it will be Bruce.

04 Oct 2016 07:38:05
So the search begins for a new manager this choice now has to be the right one no matter what and to be honest not one manager I can think of sticks out. There has to be something wrong at our club as 5 managers in 12 months is a bit excessive by anyone standards and all 5 can't be bad managers can they? Question is what is wrong or who is to blame?

Is it Gabby playing his face up because he's not getting a game and he's getting players on his side so they don't perform hence getting a manager sacked so a new one might give him a go? Or does the problem lies deeper than that we just don't know.

What I do know is whoever comes in will want more money for his own players. it's going to be one almighty run of wins to get us up to the standards set by Huddersfield and Co. will we do it? I hope so, but can't see it. the new manager will want to implement his tactics and his philosophy of his brand of football which will take time.

So in hindsight, yes RDM wasn't a good choice but for the people who work with him everyday will only know what really went on and whether at all if progress was made behind the scenes as well as on it. things take time to settle.

But by God do we need someone in who can save our club from this complete and utter mess that we are in and whoever comes in needs our backing 100 percent, none of this, "I didn't want him". Back who ever comes in and don't moan because we as fans are needed more than ever now and that's a fact.

04 Oct 2016 15:35:28
Well said villadaz, and in the spirit of doing what's right for the club and forgetting the past, may i just mention the fact that there's a manager out there who has won the league cup, has experience of championship football and premier league, and has won european cups as a player as well as managing a scottish team to a number of scottish league titles.

And as i understand he has managed in and around the b6 area in the past. at present i believe he is 'resting', and could be available for a very low salary. yes that's right, put your hands together and welcome back, alex macleish.

why is no one clapping, it was just a thought. i'll get me coat then, some people have got no sense no humour!

04 Oct 2016 17:22:22
Proves a point that I made, we need a manager to keep us in the prem, not just get us up.
Get a manager to get promoted then sack him in favour of a proven prem manager.
Doesn't make any sense.

04 Oct 2016 07:08:15
Steve bruce for me.

04 Oct 2016 03:48:40
Steve bruce or warnock for me wouldn't mind as outsiders giggs or tim sherwood bck.
