hi does anybody have any inside info on who the next Aston Villa manager will be? I know David Moyes is linked but he didn't want us as a Premier League club why would he come into this mess? I just hope it's not Mick McCarthy!

05 Apr 2016 02:03:46
Not inside info but I'm hearing mick Mccarthy.

Who ever comes in they have got a tough job on there hands the championship starts sooner than the prem so whatever they do has to be qwick let's pray to god we pick one good manager i would like to see moyes but pearson would shake things up aswel! Would any1 give it brian little for a season?

05 Apr 2016 10:37:27
No I'd not give it little. My top 5 in order would be 1 Pearson 2 moyes 3 Rodgers 4 Mccarthy 5 Clarke. I've herd Mccarthy is little favourite for the job and he's the man brain will advise to the board.

mr. Know . It . All with a name like that, why are you asking us HaHa.

04 Apr 2016 20:31:34
hello to everybody it seems to me there is a real spilt between our fans and the players the players seem to really hate us fans and us fans seem to really hate the players we are Relegated now so why not play 11 youth players man utd tryed it an uncovered rashford we have nothink to lose! The whole club needs to wake up and smell the coffee its not fair on us fans who go everyweek does anybody else think there should be a loyalty bonus for fans who have had a season ticket for like the last 10 years? players get one don't they.

05 Apr 2016 07:27:30
If we play the youth team, abs they win! Brilliant.
But if they get smashed. We could destroy there whole career.

05 Apr 2016 10:06:03
I disagree when these lads played as kids they must of lost football matches its all Experience if they was afraid of Heavy defeats they would never of made it this far. If we played them we would see the goods ones from the bad an let's face it a lot of them won't make it anyhow but if you find 1 gem out of the lot you could save the club 20 mill eg rashford at utd if nobody give him a chance he wouldn't be where he is today! sellers whos gone on loan is class lyden is decent. iam sure 6 games won't traumatise our youth let's not forget they already beat the senior team didn't they? there would be no beckham giggs Neville's no scholes if they wasnt played!

05 Apr 2016 10:53:18
New Mills AFC (look them up) could be our first team, and they have been names the worst team in England!

Playing youth players is going to do nothing in our present plight; we are down
This bunch of players got us in this mess and I would make the buggers see it through to the bitter end
Why should the young players have a relegation on their CVs through no fault of their own?
Good players emerge and are introduced to a team over time. They don't just spring out of nowhere. Quoting what other clubs do or don't do and mentioning other individual players is foolish.
Gabby was a youth player once; don't you wish he never got his chance?
At a club like Villa, if they are good enough they will get the opportunity. There is absolutely no need to force things.

{Ed001's Note - that is not always true. Harry Kane was not going to get a chance, he had never looked anywhere near good enough in the youth teams or out on loan. It was purely because Spurs were desperate for a striker that he got a run of games. Sometimes young players grow when they get a chance and become far better than ever expected. You never know until you try them.}

I agree Ed, there can be something in the "sink or swim" approach. My main concern though is that the atmosphere at the ground and with the players is so toxic now that it would be unfair to introduce a whole raft of them when there is very little point. They are going to get there chance soon enough in the Championship as I can't see Lerner spending.

{Ed001's Note - playing kids over the lazy tools who have let you down would surely change the atmosphere? If not, it might do them good to face it. Plenty of kids come through at struggling clubs, often to do better than those who have it easy. It is the ones who have it easy that usually end up failing.}

Hi Mendax and you Ed.
I think the atmosphere would change drastically if we were to blood some youngsters, we are harsh on our players because they are supposed to be seasoned pro`s and seem to think they are a whole lot better than they actually are.
Give them a kick up the arse and give some of the youngsters a crack, we would at least see some effort.
Nothing to lose at all.

05 Apr 2016 19:47:03
I agree Dave, but, if, and it is an if, they where to get beaten, especially this weekend, they would be the players that we went down with. I don't think it is worth risking long term damage on them.
I agree with mendax, these players got us in this position, they should endure the remainder of the season, if nothing else, to get their pride back.

05 Apr 2016 20:58:19
I agree with you Flackie (I must stop doing that)

06 Apr 2016 08:32:38
It's the way forward mate! lol

Very left field but why not Mourinho? If UTD swerve him, what other massive club are looking for a manager? I'd say the chances are that he'd go to Asia/ Middle East for a payday but stay with me here, wouldn't we, with new owners be an interesting 'project' for him? My personal choice would be Big Sam because he's proven at getting teams promoted, just throwing it out there guys?

UTV.

04 Apr 2016 20:58:33
Even if a new owner was in place there is no way jose would come and manage in the championship. Even with a massive pay packet and massive buget I just don't see it. Dreams I'm afraid. Mick Mccarthy or someone like bruce will probably be our luck. I'd love Pearson moyes or even someone Like rodgers but think it will be one of the above. I'm still hearing Mccarthy.

04 Apr 2016 23:37:21
Your right about mick mccarthy, someone who can make silk out of a sow's ear, and let's face it, we've got a sty full of the latter, late friday blacky's old sparing partner neil warnock said if the project was interesting he would be prepared to join us next season, so are they cutting their cloth for a prolonged stay, or are managers' agents talking up their boys to get a better contract where they are? bottom line is i reckon we could have weeks of this, aaahhhh.
