Does anybody else share my view that the current squad is the strongest since Lambert arrived? In fact, stronger than the McLeish era also?

Completly agree really strong midfield now and solid denfense when benteke is back we will have a really good team.
Certainly the strongest Lambert had had but let's be honest. That ain't saying much
Surprised to see how well Senderos and Cissokho have shored up the defence
The Senderos signing had me reaching for the rosary beads but up to now he has been excellent.
What we really lack is some invention in midfield, a good winger (I think N'Zog is hopeless and Grealish a little too inexperienced) and someone to partner or at times stand in for Benteke

Things must be hugely positive if Mendex is being even slightly positive ;), good times at villa atm but the next 5 games are going to be a huge test

To be fair saying best squad in years is like saying best STD to have we look ok but still don't think we are good enough. lacking in few keys places that will show after time

Can I ask where you actually think we are lacking. All I can see is that we have 2 good players for each position and if we lose a player in any position we have a good player to come in to replace him.
Out wide is one area and I would love someone to identify a creative midfield player that we possess
Also, are Weimann or Gabby adequate replacements for Benteke?
It's been a good start and we are all happy about it. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and convince ourselves this a good squad
Guzan gets injured whos in goal?, LB or RB, and as much as we as supporters love them gabby and weimann aren't goal scorers
