Wot about jt as boss he has done his coaching badges an look at the effect he had on the players, as a manager I think he would get everything out of the players it's a gamble but I thinks it's a gamble worth taking because I think he has that aura about him an a pressance like steveie g at rangers an lampard all in that mould, an I think we should do it an it could work aswell even as player manager if need be.

30 May 2018 22:30:06
Not that confident it would work mate.
I think he would want too many clauses and concessions included in his contract, and he does not have the experience to command conditions that suite him and not the club.
Would he want to train a team to beat Chelsea, would he move to Brum, a lot of obstacles in his way at this time in his career I think.
As you say he is in the same mould as Gerrard and Lampard yes, but they have proved nothing yet, all great players but that guarantees nothing in management.
So to be honest he is not for me.
If we are to change the manager this is the one area we must get spot on this time around, otherwise we could be in real big trouble, trouble that we might never fully recover.

Gutted to see John terry leave.

Would like to say thanks for his effort, leadership and professionalism.

Hope to see him back at Villa Park in the near future ( maybe as manager or coaching role )

JT surprised me more than any player to of graced our club .

When you look at his history of off field issues, I thought no get this guy away from our club

How wrong I was to judge a book by its cover . thank you for a great 12 months

If by any chance Steve and his coaching team get relieved of their duties

I would maybe consider JT as manager .

He is a leader and a man the players seem like . Lampard is going to Derby, Gerrard is at Rangers . Maybe JT can become our legend.

30 May 2018 19:38:25
Got a feeling Terry will link up with lampard at derby maybe as player coach or retire and be his assistant.

Shoving the kids in sounds like a great idea but we must remember we are Aston Villa and playing for our great club ( I nearly put once great club) comes pressure and once again we will be the team everyone wants to beat. We need to hope we get the mix right, we've tried chucking money at it FAILED we've tried experience FAILED. Now in my opinion we need Bruce more now than we ever did, let's not forget when he came we were a shambles our defence was a joke and I honestly feared for us. He made us a better team and his pulling power was the reason we managed to loan some descent players. If as reported the finances are bad we will need him and his contacts to try again.

Here's this villa I thought of
Sarkic gk
Lb young borg rb, bree cb, sulIman, beaudu,
Mids left mid, green, rmid, doyle hayes, cm, jedi, callum ohare
Strikers, Davis, rhm, in my opinion I'd be happy seeing that team out on the pitch also we have harry mckirdy aswell like him prob going to get slated but I think this team if trained properly would do well with a few of the oldies we have like jedi, whealan, thor, if we keep them what are people's thoughts an if we have no money what youngsters would u promote.

30 May 2018 14:06:37
You won`t get slated by me villa4eva.
That's a real good shout mate, I am an admirer of all the players mentioned and would love to see them all promoted to the first team squad.

30 May 2018 14:22:16
I too am in favour of your team villa4eva
I have wanted to see them players given a chance all season
And I a would be more than happy to see them given a chance,
But I'm afraid under Bruce this will not happen,
I'm not knocking him just saying he likes the experienced route,

30 May 2018 14:24:17
Clark is another to add to list.

30 May 2018 17:43:46
Good call, I too would love to see our young talent used in the squad, I think it's the way forward. There is no point having an academy if you are only going to develop players for other clubs.

30 May 2018 13:53:28
Hi fella`s, I have been away for a few days trying to get over our disappointment.
But what I would like to say is how refreshing it is to see some old posters back on board, and a few new guys as well.
There are some great points being made again.

30 May 2018 17:54:25
Hi Villadave, it's a pleasure to get acquainted.

30 May 2018 08:40:11
Has round or wyness spoken yet!
Silence is deafening once again.

30 May 2018 12:05:49
They are both in the office today to sort out the removal of Steve Bruce.

30 May 2018 17:50:52
What office? the post office. lol.

Review Of The Day 30th May 2018

30 May 2018 06:46:56
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 30th May 2018

30 May 2018 01:58:07
Forwards:

Kodjia - Lost his mojo. Maybe with a full pre-season he might find it again and I’m more than prepared to give him the chance. However if selling him means we can afford to keep Grealish I’d be OK with him moving on.

Grabban - Not done bad on loan and would be OK with it if we signed him on the cheap, but I would prefer us to go for pacey youth rather than a seasoned journeyman who has never been quite good enough.

Hogan - I feel genuinely sorry for him, it just hasn’t seemed to have clicked for him at Villa. I think there is a player in there and maybe a different manager might get more out of him. Otherwise he will probably be looking to leave and if we can recoup a decent amount of cash even better.

Mccormack - Get rid at all costs, he’s bad news.

Davis - Seems to help the players around him, but hasn’t shown he is prolific enough yet to be leading the line week in week out. Good option for certain games.

RHM - Needs to be promoted to the senior squad and given games.

30 May 2018 01:57:33
Midfield:

Lansbury - has been supremely disappointing so far but we know he has the quality. Maybe a change of manager would suit him. If we stick with Brucie, maybe we can get a bit of cash for him.

Grealish - We need to do everything we can to keep him, but if he gets an offer to go to the prem I can’t begrudge him that. Looking at England’s midfield he is easily good enough to be on the plane and I can’t help but have this nagging feeling that being at Villa has slowed his career. If he does go we want £40 mil

Hourihane - Excellent this season for the most part. Need to keep him.

Onomah - Would be too expensive to buy and I would rather promote some of our own youngsters.

Bjarnason - Good squad player who needs more games

Whelan and Jedi - Both old, both slow, both probably on a sizeable wage. Two players essentially doing the job of 1. I think we only need one and we should try and find someone a bit younger. Maybe continue to use Bjarnason at CDM or even Lansbury in games where we don’t need to be as defensive.

Adomah - Gone right off the boil towards the back end of the season and isn’t getting any younger. If we can get a decent wedge for him I’d be OK with letting him go, but otherwise keep him.

Snodders - Don’t think we can afford his wages and would like younger with more pace.

Green - Needs working back into the fold. Looked very promising before injury and
Adomah bagging his position.

O’Hare - Looks promising. Hope to see a bit more of him in the senior team.

Gardner - Has never been able to quite make it at Villa, can’t see that changing.

30 May 2018 01:55:35
Defence:

Chester - Our best defender and we need to keep him at all costs.

Terry - Probably won’t stay on. Even if he wants to it’s not a good idea as his wages are a major issue and it’s preventing us building for the future.

Samba - Old, slow, never a starting 11 player. Not horrible as a 4th choice CB.

Hutton - His 9 lives have run out for me, and as good as he has been filling in across the back line it’s time to find a younger replacement. Plus the moment he gets a new contract he will turn to garbage again ;)

Elmo - Indifferent. Depends how much he is on as to whether he is worth keeping.

Bree - Hopefully he’s ready for more regular first team action as we need to be utilising our younger players a lot more.

Taylor - Seems to have disappeared since that leg breaker on Coleman. Maybe he needs a move or maybe a new manager to get his confidence back up. Would love someone with more pace and an attacking mindset though…

De Laet - Not seen enough of him to make a solid judgement, but maybe that’s for a reason… should probably look to get rid

Elphick - He will probably be wanting a move. Not good enough for our starting 11

Richards - Get rid at all costs

Tuanzebe - Can’t see him coming permanently. Might be worth trying for a second loan spell if we can afford it.

30 May 2018 01:54:26
Not posted here for a while and I came back hoping Kingy would have some good news (however farfetched! ) but it seems we are in bad shape. Here are my thoughts on the squad.

Steve Bruce - Indifferent. Was able to get us some good loans and JT but the negative style of football he plays isn’t befitting a club like Villa and seemed to cost us the promotion. The age of the players he has bought in is also concerning for the future.

Keepers:

Johnstone - Would be nice to get him but we need a permanent solution and I think he will get better offers.

Bunn - Not good enough for first team

Gollini - No interest in staying, got to go.

Steer - Not good enough for the first team.

30 May 2018 17:53:12
Think you could be right AndyVilla but I can't see us hanging on to Johnstone.
