Dear Steve,
As a New Year gift could you get a rock solid centreback to tighten our defence.
A midfield dynamo to light up a lightweight supply train and an old fashioned number 9 to put the ball in the bag.
Overall we are doing ok but just a bit more bite would be good.

It does make me laugh!
This is the toughest league to get out of in European football, and finally after years of the trash we been watching we are competitive. yet people still berate the whole team as if they are tripe!
This is the first villa side I've seen in years that every week I go to games expecting something.
I've always been disappointed when we loose. but let's be honest. last few years, expected it!
This season I'm disappointed if we don't win!
I think we need to improve areas. lose some certain people from the squad. but the whole team?!

I thought the same flackie! Our CB pairing is one of the best in the league so unless Sergio ramos is coming in then I hope they like the bench. A right back, box to box centre mid and a left winger and we are sorted. A striker only needs to come in if we sell one! We have finally got a team that when the line up is announced we think, "yea they can get a result today"

Flackie, I only asked for 3 players, not a complete team.
As you clearly stated there are some that should go but the spine of the team is in need of improvement.

All we need is options. our problem is trying to accomadate too many flair players, at times we have 1 ball winning midfielder, 3 No10's and a striker, Jedinak ain't got the pace but you watch every time the opposition punt the ball in our half, he's the 1 heading it so he's got to stay in, he needs help there. Wish he was a bit younger but Charlie Adam would be a good solid player next to him, and he's got an eye for goal, win the ball, give it to the flair players be it a No10 or winger and at least you've got cover if the opposition get the ball back. Overloading the team with forward thinking players is fine if you're chasing the game, but not how you should start the game. Only suggesting Adam as a means to an end

Put my hands up in being less than complimentary about one or two versus Leeds. Observations for that match born out of high expectations. Agree with sentiments around more positive season be it frustrating waiting for us to muller a team! An extra spark may come in January. Happy New Year to all UTV.
