Held our own against a good solid prem team, had the better chances. Hutton and Elmo looked quality down the right. Grealish created chances from a number 10 role, evidently where he should be played. Bjarnson doesn't look the best, second touch is always a tackle because the first was so heavy, he needs to slow down, stop getting about like a headless chicken and think a bit more. Looked a lot better today than when we lost to Shrewsbury and people were calling for Bruce to be gone.

I agree chris we played well today was a solid performance. I thought he would of played the team that's going to play against Hull but never mind. Lansburys penalty was poor Telegraphed and just the right height but his but 3 out of 4 in so can't grumble to much. I thought Glenn Whelan played well. All in all happy with the performance. Only down side the attendance for a Legend Graham Taylor should been more than that down there.

I agree Bjarnson looks a bit ropey for me too. Thought Whelan was awesome, and lansbury had a decent game. Elmo looks good. What are we doing turning actual money down for bacuna? Although he wasn't actually that bad when he came on today. And that hurts to say. 3 points and a good start is a must saturday. Utv.

It's said that they've offered £1.5M for Bacuna, if I'm right, he extended his contract in the past year, if (when) we go up, don't think he'd make the 1st team squad, maybe they could push the price up but tbh, £1.5M is decent business for someone who we pretty much don't rate on this forum, he's had 3+ years now to be more than just average so cheerio I'd say?

Yes Bacuna isn't great but in a way I feel for him he hasn't really got a position his played everywhere when we brought him he was a central midfielder his never really played there I would say 4 million is more the price his still youngish and let's face it you can't get much for 1.5million now days we are not a club anymore who gives our players away.

We looked very solid yesterday but the problem still exists where are the goals coming from?
That is my major concern,
No big target man to aim our long balls to,
If kodija is missing matches through injury I am a worried villa fan,
Whelan was outstanding and I can see why stoke fans love him so much,
He is better than I expected that's for sure,
Bruce must bring in a target man up front in my opinion,
We are a strong squad except in this position,

Just thought I'd have my say on the Baker sale. I thought at championship level he was decent - however, with Terry, Chester, Samba and Richards (if he stays) I think we have better than him so it does make sense. He's never been a "must play" player so cashing in to free up cash, space and wages makes sense. Add to that the 3 great players we have in the under 23's who I think are as good as him in Suliman, Bedau and Toner.
My only worry is we either have inexperience or old experience and Baker was the in between. We're a little less mobile without him but he's no massive loss for me. We have a lot of power and experience In Our defence now and with Chester be their legs I think we'll be good.

I watched baker play against Norwich last season and the guy has heart. He threw his body in front of everything. He even put his face in places I wouldn't stick yours Flackie ;-)

Why are we not using the loan market?
Huddersfield had 6 loan players who were the main reasons they got promoted,
If ffp is really near the limit then a loan or 2 could be more beneficial,

Are we going to expect gabby to hit loads of goals all of a sudden,?
I would like just one player to come in,
I agree we need to offload a load of players but we are struggling in that department,
On paper we are good enough to get out this horrible division and you need goals to win matches and last year it was kodija or bust.

out of all the players we seem to be missing i think we need a peter crouch/ john carew. a big lad who when we are in desperate need of a goal we can turn to height and get the knock down,
few times it worked with gestede but he just wasnt good enough once bll was at his feet.
