Oldvilla what manager has been worse none and he has still had 20 mill a season he is a joke what tactics does he use from what I see none I've had more bad weekends wit him as manager than any1 else I will still of course support my team I couldn't stop if I wanted but a total clear out is needed manager included

I'm not personally a huge fan of Lambert but I do feel a little sorry for him. I think people are forgetting how bad it was under McLeish. And yes he's had 20 million pounds to spend but a lot of that money is currently injured, okore, kozak and obviously benteke for example which adds upto more than half of the wage bill. Also Norwich have had double that amount and look where they are at the moment. As I say not a huge fan but you have to give him this. So let's forget about him because he is not going to be sacked even if we go down, and roar the team on, on Saturday!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with backing the team on Saturday. Even though many of us are unhappy, we need a united front. I also do feel sorry for Lambert as he was always going to be the fall guy if the punt on cheaper younger players did not work out. It is the team who are just not good enough especially with the injuries. Yes it is ‘His team’ as he has spent £40 mil over the last two years but once you take out 7 and 6 ish mil for Tekkers and Kozak it shows on average we only spent less than 1-2 mil on each player brought in. Take out Vlaar and Okore at around 4 mil each, then the average spend each player is even less. So my point is we can't expect top 10 above finish by spending so little on a lack of quality. In some ways it could be viewed that Lambert is a genius (im laughing as I type this too) as with the players we currently have that we are not in the bottom three at the moment. This minimum spend forced upon by Learner is down to having his fingers burned but remember he is ultimately a business man and not a ‘real’ fan. So we need big investment but finding a multi-billionaire who like Abramovich or Mansour who seem to not really care about money as they have so much of it, will be hard as most rich people are rich for a reason. Why do you think so many lotto winners have almost nothing so quickly, as they waste it. Also any new owner will want a payback someday regardless of what they say. It has to be up to the fans to buy the tickets, shirts etc… to put the cash in. Otherwise lower divisions, rubbish football is the future unless that multi-billionaire buys in.

Agree0 Disagree0

PL has to be sacked I don't think he understands the club if he did he would not have bought the worst villa team I have seen since tommy Cumming was manager he is suited to a small club 1 good buy the rest are rubbish FACT but agree we all get behind the team saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry lads but could you guys finish with a name or something so we know who is making a point.

Well stated Villadave. Lots of posters drift in and out of the site and make the odd comment. Far worse teams than those mentioned have worn the shirt and failed miserably.

come on wigan tonight. do it for villa!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on mate, that's a bit harsh.

I am Villa through and through but wishing another midland side get relegated is not on.
The midlands are in the mire at the moment as far as football is concerned.
So let's grow up a it hey.

Totally agree villadave

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. C'MON WIGAN!

Agree0 Disagree0

If they go down, we won't have a derby game next season :- (

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Villa Dave, you are going to think badly of me but I want Wigan to win also.
For me, it's a question of maths. No Birmingham, means more potential Villa supporters, means more finances, means more chance of Villa success.
If someone could convince me the opposite were true I'd be willing the Bluenoses to win as you are
(I'm not a bad person, really I'm not)

Agree0 Disagree0

No Mendax, I don't think badly of you mate.
But Blues could be in league 1 or even league 2 and it would not make any difference to our gates if we are not winning.

Also would you change your colours if the positions were reversed, of course not, so where are these extra supporters going to come from.

Your not a bad person, maybe just a little tired it is late.

Nope villadave it is not harsh to want your local rivals to go down in anyway at all in my opinion. They will be willing us to go down at the moment and in my opinion it's just been part of the game having local rivals and always will be. Plus when teams like West Brom are singing ridiculos songs like 'pride of the midlands' why do you want midlands teams apart from our own (of course) to do well

Agree0 Disagree0

I take your point Dave. I wasnt thinking new supporters short term though. I was thinking more 20 years from now
But, you are right. We need to get our own house in order rather than worry about some local annoyance of a club
Anyway, I'm happy. Real did win tonight (the only other team I have a soft spot for)
The week would be complete if we turn Hull over

Agree0 Disagree0

I take your point as well, I was just trying to be sensible and not wishing a fate on them that we do not want ourselves.

I would prefer them to be in the bottom four or five in our division to be honest, Its great to have bragging rights.

I hope and really think we will turn Hull over but I can not see it being a formality.
