Being a villa fan is like being on a boat you never know when the boats going to sink an beleive me villa are sinking big time i can't see us getting out of this one are so called best players are leaving no replacements coming in an no new news on takeover not good at all an not good for start of pre season this could b the year we go down like the titanic or less there's a massive takeover with an open checkbook because our 1st team needs bout six players in it an squad isn't good enough the bookies have villa at 3/1to go down wot does everyone think

yay another positive feel good post.

No take over? Your sure? Know this as a fact??

Ffs. You know as much as every one else out side of any negotiations. Nothing.

I'm no expert but I would imagine selling a 150 million pound business is a little more complex to negotiate than just simply writing Randy a cheque. These things take time and the exclusivity period has surely got to be seen as a positive, as the interested party must be very serious about buying and a ball park figure must have been agreed on prior to entering these later discussions.

We won't know for sure until an official announcement is made what is happening but surely the inability for the club to bring in significant new recruits this transfer window until new ownership is in place is a price worth paying for new owners.

I have no idea if or when the takeover will happen and obviously during a sale we aren't in the best position as a club. But it has been made clear that the club entered a 6 week period of exclusivity meaning negotiations can only be had with one interested party. We are several weeks in to that period now so we will definitely have more information towards the end of July. I can't see that there would be much point in entering the exclusivity period unless the buyers were dead serious and a ball park figure agreed. If it goes through then the new owners will allocate funds and decide whether or not to keep or replace Sherwood. If it falls through then the board will know its up to them to fund us for next season and allocate Sherwood a portion of the TV money to strengthen the squad, without Lerner investing much if anything out of his own pocket.

Also the signing of Richards shows that any money Sherwood can generate through player sales are his to reinvest. The 65k per week for Richards wages was freed up by DB9, and the 4-5 million we offered for Begovic is pretty much what we raised by selling Weimann, Lowton, and Sylla.

So in summary we are not in a good place as you say, but I'd rather be where we are now with takeover talks ongoing and Lambert gone than where we were at this time last year. At least this is progress.

The take over will happen before 14th July, Villa will replace all those so called top players that leave, there will be a lot of new faces at the club and the club is on it's way up. Vlarr is stalling for the takeover to see what he can get out of us but to be honest I hope he goes, so too anyone else who is not 100% committed to the club. Trust me this club is going forward so have faith and things will begin to happen and all I say is this is no guess.

Maybe I'm being naive but I'm fairly relaxed about the Delph to Man City rumours.
I just don't see it happening. I love Delph for us but I would be really surprised if city thought he was going to significantly improve their squad
If he goes, I really could not see him getting that much game time
Hopefully it's just paper talk
If not, the " I'm staying because my teammates are like brothers" quote that we so admired him for making would taste a little bitter

I do kind of agree. But at the same time can't blame him, or club for the buy out.
I hope he stays, and would be a little let down if he leaves, but sadly not surprised.

I do disagree though, I think he is good enough to get in any prem teams side, and think with the right players around him feel he could be a workd class player.

If he, and anyone want out though, if the price is right, let them go. Would rather come every week to see eleven average players play their hearts out wanting to be there, than 11 great players giving a token effort looking for a move.

But, with this buyer(!?) waiting in the wings. Who knows!!

I don't think he passes the ball well enough for Man City Flackie
I say this based on the premise that they can buy practically any midfield player in the world
He'd struggle to get in the first 11 there for me

I think they would be happy to just have him in the squad to bulk up the English quota and never seriously give him anything in the way of first team opportunities. With Richards, Milner and Sinclair off the books they have got to buy English players, hence the rumours regarding Wilshire and Sterling too.

If Delph's buyout clause is a low as is being reported someone will come in with an offer for him, even if its not City.
