Right, villa are now focusing on offloading their big earnes in order to add a new attacking midfielder, lambert has a short list of two players from abroad and is wanting to get him in beefier the start of the season.

It gets rather tiresome with some so called fans, and I guess I can even see what David O Leary was meaning when he called Villa fans fickle.
I mean, we go away on a preseason bonding tour and play a few warm up matches in Germany to get a feel for each other and dust off the cobwebs and we draw all of them and suffer several injuries, and people are hitting panic switches calling for heads and stating that we stink.
As soon as we have a few guys back for what many consider to be more competitive friendly matches, starting with Crewe, of which we spank them netting five well constructed goals. its not enou and we have only beaten a poor side and failed to get a clean sheet.
It's quite laughable really.
How about showing just a little patience and perhaps a little more unwavering support? We are on to a good thing here presently, it is amazing what great fan support can do just as it has been seen what poor support can do (players feeling ridiculous a, punts of pressure at home, when it should be a fortress).

Leroy we shouldn't bother caring, every pre-season game the majority of us have came on and rubbished the negativity, but there will always be those fools that criticise when we lose and praise when we win, they're worse than that lot on match of the day! Yeah its not ideal watching our beloved villa play out a boring 1-1 draw but I still enjoyed watched every game this pre-season so far. I think its just the braindead that don't realise there is more to football than winning, especially in a friendly.
Exactly! You can't possibly accuse them of that though, because they'll always come back with the same old 'i've been going to games since I was 6 years old' when they say that it makes me wonder how many they have actually been to in that space of time!
As we go down we can at least say "it isn't all about winning" can't we ethavfc

Bacunas strike yesterday was immense, carnt wait for the lad to show some defenses up this season, from what I saw and what I expect a natural replacement for the zog but with that bit more technique.

I think if we have a good start to the season and pick up 4 points in 3 games then we will have a good chance of challenging for a top half/top six place. We need to get into form and I think Benteke and Weimann already are. It's good to see the youths getting used in the first team during pre-season would like to see them feature in cup games this year. We have a stronger enough squad so let's prove we can finish in the top half.

Agree with the youth in cup games, let's be realistic we're not going to win it, the FA cup especially, so instead of having our first team players lose to millwall and bradford, why don't we give the young lads a game to impress, then if they win it will do wonders for their confidence, the media will be up our backsides about winning games with the kids playing and we won't look desperate in making 11 players play every game of the season cause we have no strength or depth in the squad. Not only that but the guys playing week in week out get a rest and lambert gets a chance to see other players without annoying the bigger players by dropping them. Everybody wins.

Norwich fan in peace just want to wish you all the best for the new season I totally believe norwich and villa will not be fight relegation like last season. It's the quality villa and norwich have bought in instead of one or two class players and the rest make up players. Every signing made by both clubs could walk in to the starting line up.

I have been told today that when the bomb squad are finally shipped out all remainimg funds will be used to try to sign Bojan Krkic from Barcelona, Aston Villa are eady to launch a opening bid of £13 million, he had a buy out clause with Milan of €15 million after spending last season on loan there but he doesn't fit the italian league. He also bombed at roma a season or 2 ago
Lambert is hoping to make a move in the next week, he has a feeling that this could be a very good attavcking unit of benteke with bojan behind him
I hear rumours many times a day regarding villa but I thought it worth a mention terms of the number 10 position.
He will however take the 23 shirt out of preference
