Remember when grealish burst onto the scene, chelsea tried to pinch him. they didn't just scout him once, but over 18 months. so the boy has talent. he's a baby in footballing terms and is in a team that has had no direction for years.

is he slow and overthinking passing, or is he seeing a pass and growing frustrated no one is on the same wavelength? whatever way you think he's a villa boy and that means an awful lot in modern day football where loyalty has all but disappeared. i hope he stays and becomes a club legend.

I'm not disagreeing that the kid's got talent but I don't really follow the logic that he has talent because the papers said that Chelsea scouted him for 18 months.
You could argue that after 18 months of scouting, they weren't really convinced?
Let's leave Chelsea out of it. He's got talent because we can see he has

Remember hat his family are Villa mad too, not all footballers are mercenaries, he's on money that the likes of us can dream of, if I was him, a fan of the club I play for, and at some point in the future be on £50K+ a year and maybe even more, what more could you want? I'm not being blinkered because he's 'one of us' but he could be like Giggs was to Utd

You're right Mendax, and as Oldvillian has said on here before, playing with lansbury and hourihane should hopefully bestow upon him the virtues of living the right lifestyle to achieve all he can, that's why mccormack has to go.

he sure has been a milestone round the changing room since the summer camp in austria, and no doubt not a positive example for grealish to see, still, it wouldn't be the Villa without something going sideways!

Good point about McCormack. He can't be a good influence on the younger squad members. Get him gone

Hope you're right Allyp about being the next giggsy, i think its very rare to have a youth team player who looks a natural already, and in this new team of ours, it breeds success, he just needs to work on his decision making process, then he'll be flying.

Original post calls him "a baby" in footballing terms.
He is 21 and many players in the prem and champs are younger than this.
He believes the hype whereas he should be interested in proving the hype correct.
I don't want Grealish to go.

Boro will only want to give us the money that they want for Rhodes so Grealish would be a freebie. His talent is prodigious, his application less so.

If he was my son I would be trying to guide him to the right track and point out the way many other young players apply themselves to their careers.

We could all name players with massive talent that have ended their careers penniless and no friends. Put your head down Jack and become a hero in Claret and Blue at AVFC.

Is Robbie Savage Jedwards other brother? What a gimp

What's he said now?

Think it's what's the bell looks like!

Met the bloke once! He's even worse face to face! I enjoyed telling him!

I like the story about his time at the city's second club.
When any body failed to agree with him he just got more noisy and shouted people down. But he always gave 110% on the pitch!

Boro want Grealish?
How about a loan so that when he realises that he is not a super hero just a mortal footballer.
Perhaps half a season on the outskirts of the UK where night life is limited will bring him to his senses.

I am torn on the question of Jack. One argument is that he really hasn’t reached his potential and other clubs are looking at him and thinking that Villa are somehow complicit and haven’t brought the best out of him whereas maybe they can. A lot of young players are guilty of 'laddish' behaviour off the pitch, but that is seldom a good excuse for them not playing at their best.

I may still go on on the razz from time to time, but the next day I am still up and doing my job at work. Paul McGrath was arguably one of our best ever players but, by his own admission, was often the worse for wear on the pitch. At the same age (21) Beckham was scoring goals from the half-way line and an England regular, but then he was playing most games for United and not being brought on as a Sub when the going got tough.

Personally I would be sad to see him go. Putting him out on loan could be a risk because, if we want him to improve he would need to shine, but then if he did go somewhere like Boro and shine then it would be unlikely that we would get him back.

Just a thought, with Hulls team being ripped apart (snodgrass, Livermore), why don't we sell McCormack for the most we can, say 8 million - no matter the last few weeks his record is still the best in the league so 8 million should be minimum and then offer the 12/15 Hull want for Hernandez.

Bruce obviously rates him, Him and Kodija would be a brilliant strike partnership and if he had a brain he would see that Hull are going one way and when they do drop I'm certain we will be in better shape than they will!
