I'd love to see petrov back but just can't see how he will slip back in after 4 years.

26 Jun 2016 23:17:13
Petrov has been playing for the last couple of seasons, since the all clear he started playing again, working his way up fitness and standard of football, I'm not saying he will be a hit but surely he wouldn't risk ruining his legend status unless he honestly felt he could do the business.

26 Jun 2016 23:55:48
And you use the handle "realist"?
The man is training with the squad, he doesn't have a contract to play as far as I have heard.

26 Jun 2016 21:41:22
I don't think Amavi will stay either, it was just a dream team, an achievable 1 but open to debate, good team that though, wouldn't be that much of a net spend either if they got the deadwood out?

27 Jun 2016 08:22:08
Yes I use the realist handle, I didn't mention anything about him having a contract, I don't get your point mendax, are you just trying to be argumentative? I simply stated I didn't think he would risk his reputation if he didn't think he was capable.

27 Jun 2016 10:32:37
Why Myhill? I'm not saying he's not a good keeper but why not move for a keeper a bit younger and build for the future? Randolph not getting his game at West Ham, has looked very solid for Ireland since breaking into the team. Played at championship level and proved good enough for a move to the premiership. Also, as much and all as I love seeing Stan back and healthy, I wouldn't be a huge fan of the idea of him starting in centre mid for us Allyp. If he proves himself fit and capable give him a contract certainly but could he play twice a week for us? Great to have him onboard in some capacity though.

27 Jun 2016 16:25:08
Like I've said before, Dream Team, a fully fit Petrov, let's not forget he's had 4 years of wear and tear off too, would be my choice for centre/ def mid, and Amavi I really think will be off, which is a shame. Randolph? Looks to me like he has all the best attributes of David James, I'd definitely have him instead of Myhill, but, been burned on here for suggesting a WBA player, never mind an ex nose so pick the bones outta that 1 🤔 Time to put the cat among the pigeons, Craig Gardner, bit of a knob but a good, committed, English player? Would be a star in the Championship, bring on the arguments against.

We won't do the dance again ed as age doesn't bring wisdom or intelligence. It often brings stubbornness lol.

Freedom of movement worries me. If the European migrants aren't allowed into Britain the same could be argued for footballers. Certainly youth players like fabregas was.

{Ed001's Note - I fail to see the issue with that, there are youth academies.}

26 Jun 2016 16:07:45
Are they the same youth academies that the likes of Weismann came through? Weismann who would no longer be eligible ed? Or pogba for example. You might see where this is going ed. I see millions are signing up for a new referendum in Britain already lol.

{Ed001's Note - they did not go through the academies, they were acquired as adults. As for those morons who are too immature to accept democracy when it doesn't give the result they want, they don't deserve to have the vote. Either abide by the result or don't get the right to choose in future, that is how it should be. You can't just throw your toys out of your pram because it didn't go your way.}

26 Jun 2016 17:02:53
Can I suggest you buy CDs from now on irishvilla, they don't stick like records.

26 Jun 2016 18:05:50
Ed and now flack I'm only up for discussion . Result doesn't hold one problem for me as i'm in ireland snuggled up nice and warm to the bussom of Europe lol. I'm just worried for my mates living in blighty. I'm guessing both of you voted leave though :-)

{Ed001's Note - you would be guessing wrong.}

26 Jun 2016 18:20:56
You voted to stay?

{Ed001's Note - no, I never voted as I am not in the country, so don't feel it is my place to make the decision. My health makes it highly unlikely I will ever return to the UK so it is not up to me.}

26 Jun 2016 18:21:57
Actually no, I didn't!
But I'm proud of the fact we live in a democratic society, and accept with dignity the result, I'm proud we don't harp on about the wrong result, what might happen, or what might not.
But then I'm in England snuggles to the bussom of my democratic brothers, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

{Ed001's Note - wow, glad someone accepts it with dignity. LinkedIn is full of whining people who seem to assume the country is about to implode for no reason whatsoever. It is not like it existed for thousands of years before the EU or anything.}

26 Jun 2016 18:25:23
Is this still a villa banter page?

26 Jun 2016 18:41:00
Here here craiggers!

26 Jun 2016 18:44:40
Well it may have feck all to do with footie, but banter was had lol. I was in England recently to meet hrh princess anne. Loved the place, hope it doesn't change.

26 Jun 2016 20:05:30
To be fair flackie, NI and Scotland voted to stay I the EU. All I'm saying is that if they're given the chance do you think they'll be happy to remain as part of that democratic brotherhood?

And FYI you'll never win a political debate with an Irishman.

26 Jun 2016 20:18:55
I agree, however, as a democratic society, you may find they accept the result as is, and rather than try to change the out come, will try to get independence, for which I wouldn't blame them!
But how ever as far as I can tell, they are not posting everywhere reliving it!

26 Jun 2016 20:20:03
Ya better believe it.

Tiocfaidh ár lá.

26 Jun 2016 20:32:32
Your completely right Flackie. They are not posting on here as the scottish fish is too busy writing legislation for a second independence vote lol.

26 Jun 2016 20:38:13
Funny though, the Irish got knocked out of Europe twice this week.

26 Jun 2016 20:45:23
Twice Flackie? Do tell.

26 Jun 2016 20:46:10
I wouldn't blame them!
You say it as though that should bother, or scare me!
I'm not, and also I would want my own independence if I was them.

26 Jun 2016 20:53:40
Once, Referendum
Twice, France/ Wales.

26 Jun 2016 20:54:20
Sorry, I introduced football to this football forum.
My mistake.

26 Jun 2016 21:01:48
Just to take this political stuff a bit further. If NI and Scotland want a referendum they think will allow them to leave the UK, then surely from this point forward, their MP's shouldn't be allowed to vote on matters that effect England and Wales who voted out? Sorry I'm still on politics, just that I don't bother with social media and the Mrs is thick as when it comes to this stuff lol. &. Would love to hear ClassOf82's view on all this 🤔

26 Jun 2016 21:17:56
I wish I had never asked now. We don't need any more reasons to argue among ourselves, Villa matters are plenty enough.

26 Jun 2016 22:11:59
Two posts blocked. I guess freedom of speech is muted on here.

{Ed002's Note - There weren't any blocked posts until now. Idiot.}

27 Jun 2016 08:41:45
Irishvilla do u live in the north?

27 Jun 2016 09:21:15
where I am, the corner shop is owned and manned by British, the pub is British - in fact everyone around me is British! Oh I do love being in Spain.

27 Jun 2016 09:28:33
No craiggers I'm in the south. Dublin.

Ed you're very cranky these days. Re your idiot comment. I've a masters in education and am about to commence a PhD next year. I posted a valid coment and it didn't appear.

{Ed001's Note - it wasn't me that called you an idiot, but being educated does not make you intelligent. I deal with some very highly educated people who are incredibly stupid, but have hundreds of letters after their name.

I would suggest, instead of making idiotic comments about freedom of speech and blocked comments, you instead read our terms and conditions and understand them. Plus take some time to understand that it is also perfectly possible that a 'valid comment' might get lost due to dropped connections, server issues etc, even if we would have chosen to allow it on the site otherwise.}

27 Jun 2016 09:45:49
Must have a look at your terms so.

27 Jun 2016 10:56:32
How did 2 irish teams get knick out of the euros flackie the north are more like the English b team have the English flag English national anthem.

27 Jun 2016 11:41:09
Right ed had a quick flick through terms etc. so who decides which posts get put up and which get kept off here?

{Ed001's Note - the editor who picks up the post.}

27 Jun 2016 11:46:37
Jesus mick thanks for that. I genuinely did have the foggiest when Flackie was banging on about Wales. Thought I must have missed one of our group games lol.

27 Jun 2016 12:18:31
Just to check as didn't read in the terms or may have missed, what are the guidelines for a post to be withheld from going up?

26 Jun 2016 09:35:48
After ed and I aired different views yesterday I found a lawyer called Paul Shapiro who gives both view points. It will very much depend on how the exit is agreed upon. Freedom of movement is a big one for football. Anyway worth looking the guy up as he gives a balanced view looking at both sides.

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly what I was saying, nothing is agreed, so any claims it will be this or that are just nonsense. People just need to relax and wait and see. With age comes wisdom, which is telling when it was the older generation who voted to leave.....}

26 Jun 2016 01:22:47
plz Rdm let the dwight gayle deal be true his one of them best prem strikers just need a chance defoe the 2nd. heard burnley want rudy justhead 6 million i think we should sell we have libor kozak.

26 Jun 2016 09:50:57
I fully agree with the Dwight Gayle bit of your post but not about selling Ruddy Gestede. Gestede is proven to score goals at that level and Kozak isn't. £6m for a proven striker to then take a chance of spending that £6m and hope you buy someone proven is a risk. Gayle and Gestede together could score a lot of goals in that division.
