Hart and Terry yes, but sorry mate, not big Ben for me, it has been talked about many times on here.
Vastly over rated, moody, goes missing during games, and constantly needs the arm round the shoulder treatment.
He was good during his time with us, but I don’t think he is the type of player we need right now.
We need two or three creative players ASAP, who can bring the best out of strikers we already have.
Terry wants something else from the game, So I think it’s a no go.

What's the score with Carles Gil? All I can find is that Deportivo were obliged to buy him after 2 seasons on loan if they were in La Liga but they got relegated? Could do a job for us still in the same way as Forrestieri does for Sheff Weds I'd say, and cost us FA?

Gil is an argument waiting by supporters.
Several weeks ago I asked a similar question and the majority were unimpressed by him.
Personally I think he could be perfect even though he is quite lightweight.

Want to the game last night, positives from the evening, M6 was clear so a quick journey, the beer in the ground was cold and the pies were hot, lovely evening to watch football, positives end there. I accept it was a friendly and it's difficult to judge however players don't pass differently whatever the football. Friendlies give you the opportunity to try different attacking options, a lone Kodja shows nothing. Accepting all of the caveats associated with friendlies it was an extremely poor show. I hope the majority the wanted Bruce to stay stick by him, because us doubters will not waiver and as soon as the new guys see what we see change will come quickly.

Late in window if he's still at city. Loan for season with them picking up 70% of his wage and I'd take him. Even put in a buy clause if we go up.

How frustrating is Kodja thereis obviously a player on there but the problem with Kodja is his decision making, and his peripheral vision - when he is hot he will always go for goal but sometimes you have to be clever and that is where the great player differ from the OK players, its not the skill, or the attitude - its what is between the ears.

Hi all,
New on here, some interesting posts by everyone. I for one must say I would have been happy for Bruce to go. I'm tired of his 'must not lose' football instead of trying to win. I feel he makes bad choices, plays people out of position and to be honest the football style is dire at times. The thing that disappoints me most is that he seems to have forgotten about our youth players. We have so much talent coming through yet he chooses not to play them, well hardly ever anyway. Considering our situation you would have thought he would have done, instead he chooses to rely on the 'old men' he keeps buying, namely Whelan, Samba etc. Time for new blood and a new mentality, this style of football doesn't suit us. Bruce has had his chance, he will never change.

Dare to disagree with some views and you are accused of being a bluenose, it happened to me These people think they know best and Bruce is the Messiah, history shows differently. Park villa keep true to your views and offer constructive views, ignore some of these other comments on here.

I'm not a Bruce fan, but I will give credit where credit is due. Unfortunately i'm not seeing anything that is worthy of that, but we shall see.

I am pleased it's all over now with all the speculation regarding the manager,
Was getting pissed of with all the talk to be honest,
Now bruce has to prove the 67 % of people who wants him to stay have got it right,
Myself I'm just glad Aston villa are in business at the moment,
On the playing side he needs to decide on what formation to use,
Up to now it's 352 but putting the right players in there positions is key,
Like the look of Hayes, green, delaet,
We need a new goalie in my opinion.
Steer is not commanding enough and his kicking is truly awful,
Ohare when fit should be involved,
Will we now get promoted under bruce is anyone's guess,
I really hope so but it will be harder than last year,

I think in Bruce's case then first 10-15 games will tell us if the fans who voted for him are right or wrong,
Our opening 10 games on paper are not to bad and 15-20 points is needed,

I agree, think it will be tough this year but I don't see any of the teams running away with it like Wolves did.
If we can get a formation that gives better service to the front players I think Kodja and Hogan will come good. And yes, we need a keeper.
Couple of questions then:
Who would you want as a new keeper?
Who do you see as the biggest threat for the automatic places?

Depends a lot on what players he loses and who he can bring in to be really fair about it, 7 points from 21 cost us automatic promotion last term so we need to improve on that for sure. If he gets off to a bad start the finger pointing will be an inevitable consequence of not going with Henry but that's life.

Hi villaglass, Derby and Leeds won't be far off the mark and the clubs that came down could be dangerous. Joe Hart might be a good shout in goal, he has had a rough time of late and is looking for a club to relaunch his career and may also be priced nice, there is no doubt he has the ability to be a quality keeper.

A good shout on Hart. Think he is more than adequate for the Championship and would give that authority and experience that we have lost with Terry going. Wages could be a sticking point though.
If Derby and Leeds click and their new managers do the business then I think you're right, they could be dangerous. Fortunately, they both seem to have the bottle factor ingrained so hopefully not!
Of the relegated teams, only Stoke worry me, but not overly. Think the bin bags will be mid table now the honeymoon period will have worn off for Darren More!
I think Middlesbrough could be one to watch.
