With all the new appointments over recent months (few years) in the management structure of villa can anybody explain why we are unable to sign (or unwilling ) a single player in this window? I hear about our training facilities being amongst the best around, but we produce hardly any player worthy of a place in any perm team (and those that might be we sell for next to nothing), I hear about us scouting hard around Europe, but nothing appears to have come from that. Are we just full of Middle managers in positions doing nothing?

Like so many companies we are overloaded with "brains" and under achievers in management.
Trouble is that our management have forgotten that they should be running a football club.
We now have a guy successful at turning companies financially, not making them into football clubs.
Also we are now to get an 18 year old expert in f. all.
Lerner has no idea about anything, least of all a football club.
If only we could turn the clock back 10 years.

All teams closest to us buying players less than a week to go and we got no one looks like the board have accepted relegation feel sorry for remi as the board are ruining our once great club players once mentioned with have moved on and are all doing well at new clubs we need a new owner asap as Lerner and his accountants that are running our club are ruining us.

No adebayor. blessing in disguise but come on villa give us something!

26 Jan 2016 17:44:40
At this point in time I would take anybody that can score goals because that is all we are lacking at the moment if we would have had someone who new where the net was we would have a few more points than we currently have and there would be a lot more pressure on Newcastle Sunderland Norwich Swansea WBA and the likes. All around us are adding to their squads while all we get is a new chairman and an assistant and links to possibly every foreign player going we have it all to play for and a very good chance of survival if we get that one striker who knows how to score!

26 Jan 2016 21:27:26
Craiggers Adeboyer would definitely have been worth a punt tok the end of the season, and I'm stunned you don't agree! We simply will not get a striker of his potential unless we spend millions and that isn't going to happen, Adeboyer knows the premier league, is arrogant enough to swagger his way to scoring valuable goals, and would be free. its a no brainer - ask. Alan Pardew!

26 Jan 2016 23:09:31
sellars is banging them in in the reserves, give players like him and green a chance!

27 Jan 2016 07:24:38
But he didn't want to join us at the start of the season and why would he join us when we are bottom?

27 Jan 2016 15:28:14
Devlins I'm not doubting his ability but I think garde has enough to worry bout without that added pressure of pleasing adebayor! I'm hoping villa do sign a striker capable of scoring goals but one that is actually happy and wanting to be at the club.

27 Jan 2016 18:58:39
Listen guys don't get sucked in, the people at he club will of course want us to believe Adeboyer wouldn't join because of the difficult commute, but the truth is probably more like they refused to meet his pay demands and Tim Sherwood might fill us in on that but for legal restrictions! Anyway we have missed out again because Lerner does not love the club, and I seriously doubt we will sign anyone, the towel has been thrown in guys!

Apparently, we've got a new Coach. Well, an additional 52-seater should make travel to away games a bit easier - or am I somehow missing the point .

26 Jan 2016 14:29:37
Quality.

26 Jan 2016 22:52:43
We have more coaches than national express.

26 Jan 2016 12:26:20
We keep hearing about debouchy, why, just play richards where he's best and spend the money on someone who know where the goal is. I would go for Rhodes, scores goals in the championship which is where we'll need him next season. If by a miracle he scored loads for us this season the unlikely might just happen.

26 Jan 2016 12:50:39
I completely agree with you mate. I however seem to think the problem lies with the money which is available, I really don't think Villa are willing to pay any fees for players, unless they are loans. It's stupid really. They've essentially publicly admitted we are going down and they're not going to fight to stay in the league, so they should be looking at using their reputation whilst they still have it to attract the best of the championship and league one to fully prepare for next season. Typical clueless Villa.

You hear Tom Fox and Hollis talking about how the club have stood still for years whilst others have moved forward and yet it's still happening. This transfer window is a prime example. Look at Newcastle, they don't want to go down.
Or if we've decided we can't be saved then look at the likes of Forest, Derby, Boro as a model they have all shown more intention and ambition than us the last few seasons.

For me this transfer window was quite simple, We either went for broke and tried to stay up or we started very early preparations and got a head start rebuilding for next season.

We have done neither. We aren't even standing still any more, we're just falling further behind.

26 Jan 2016 13:04:37
Would lambert sell us his best striker?

26 Jan 2016 14:30:54
Dont think Lambert would get a say in it, Blackburn need the money.

26 Jan 2016 21:38:22
I think lambert owes us for the drugery he put us through. The facts are wekeep wasting good money in areas we don't need. Bunns done well and looks composed so why spend on another unnecessary gamble.

26 Jan 2016 14:03:26
i've just seen the article from last week where timmy says we need to get gabby fit again as he's the only one to save us now - it either confirms his dismissal was the right decision or he's still very bitter!

27 Jan 2016 14:29:53
Gabby couldn't score in a dentists. Timmy is obviously deluded. Perhaps we should get him on the board to go with the rest of the lunatics. Even MON wouldn't save us now with the lernerbles at the helm.
