I have heard Villa are going to buy the Championship's finest 6 foot tall players in an attend to stop the ball's coming into the box from the corner's.
Everyone on the line to stop goals anyone?

I don't see why we don't sign anyone, this is not the season to get relegated with the TV revenue money we can get next season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we could get anyone I would have a look at micheal carrick (loan), never rated him hugely but lots of experience and a strong player, mark Davies Bolton looked good this season and a fair bit of experience, Peter whittingham, since leaving for Cardiff has been a fantastic leader for them and loads of experience now could prove to be a good signing, Paulo Ferreira (loan), hasn't played in ages but a very experienced defender who can teach our full backs a thing or to and last one I would look at backary sako not sure about him looks a good player but not much experience, I think any one of these could offer us something even short term, I will keep backing lambert as poor as it has been we said it will take 2-3 years to rebuild the mess and I think lambert will do that so as hard as it may be il stick with lambert and villa all the way !

Agree1 Disagree4

Any news Ed? It seems as if everybody else is prepared to fight for their premier league status... {Ed001's Note - nothing mate, but the summer signings were very much under the radar, with little fuss, so maybe the same is happening now. Though I am told it is a case of getting rid of some players first, if that doesn't happen, then I wouldn't expect anything in.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael Carrick, dream on he is an integral part of the UTD team, where do these people come from?! A wish list is 1 thing but. C'mon get real.

Agree1 Disagree0

Carrick ? On Loan ? That's Micheal Carrick, Man Ut'ds best midfield player this season, on a loan ?
Why not put in a cheeky bid for Messi while we'r e at it
Mendax

Agree2 Disagree0

Carrick is one of the best and most under rated midfielders in the prem. he won't be coming to VP though

Agree2 Disagree0

I would kiss the ground carrick walked on if he came here

Villa fans, given recent events at Villa and Norwich, would you swap Lambert for Hughton?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Never. .

Agree2 Disagree0

Not on your life. lambert is not the problem at the Villa. fans need to wake up and see we have massive issues in the board

Agree3 Disagree0

Maybe, he can't be any worse

Ermm, I didn't say that, some clown is impersonating me.

The Cleveland Brown fans warned us when he bought in to Villa and they seem to be right. He made a promise to his father that he wouldn't sell them until they were a success and guess what he did? Looks like he has accepted we are destined for the Chumpionship and the fact that we are probably more saleable as a team who can come back than one already in the prem and take the hit on its value. Lets see if he sticks with us or breaks the promise to our fans and deadly Doug when he bought in. My guess will be on the latter.

Rumour has it we're a premier league team. All the haters of O'Neill now do you understand ?

AVFC - The nation is laughing at us !

For some time now the canaries have been chirping on our site. I wonder how they are enjoying today.
Luton 95 places below them. Well done Luton.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Thing is we're not arrogant enough to think that it couldn't happen, you Villa 'fans' however are.

Agree1 Disagree3

Villa fans are not arogant, they expect their side to perform and in the past the team has performed. Most Villa fans are working class lads, and you can't be serious when you call them arogant. If anything you are the arogant supporter expecting a small town club to outperform one of the 7 ever present prem. clubs. Many Norwich fans resented Lambert for leaving for Villa and since he moved they have been angry about it. However if you had the chance to improve yourself with a different job that paid you a lot more money you would take it. Lambert did and you don't like it. Grow up and be an adult and admit you are bearing a massive grudge. All of your posts indicate that you have a grievance, especially as your beloved canaries are now struggling. Villa have lost to two lower league teams but at least they were in the league. Sorry mate you have got it all wrong.

Agree1 Disagree0

No they though it could happen that's why they booed them off the pitch at full time ? Did you not ?

Agree1 Disagree0

If we're struggling and six points better off what are villa doing then? Lambert suits you with his arrogant smug persona.

Agree1 Disagree0

So why is it a lot of you villa fans on here are calling for him to be sacked?? He thought he might improve himself but he went to the wrong club for that, check the bookies odds, he's the current favourite to be managing a championship club next season. Norwich fans accept him leaving if it had been for a bigger and better club, granted villa may be bigger, you can't say you are currently better, it's a club in turmoil - a poison chalice - it's board change managers more frequently than they change their underwear. So no issue with him leaving, he should have gone to a successful better team.

Agree1 Disagree0

I am not calling for him to be sacked. However on the Canaries site some are asking for Hughton to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

We would take hughton from you right now and you can have lambert back

villa fans, its not the chairman's fault the position use are in look at us everton we get no money but there is something wrong with you team for all you know it could be the managers tactics in the tam plus you have a great striker in benteke*

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Everton are very strategic when it comes to transfers and due to having a stable good manager have been able to build a very good squad, who play for the manager

For instance you even sold Piennar for a massive profit and then brought him back for a cut price.

Where as at Villa some of the squad don't care as we haven't had a stable manager since O'neil and now we look certain for relegation A couple of them have started performing I.E like N'zogbia

Agree0 Disagree2

You have both experience and quality in your 1st 11. We don't!

Agree2 Disagree0

Actually Everton ended up paying more to bring Piennar back than they sold him for in the first place.

Agree2 Disagree0

Everton never have been and never will be as big a club as villa

Put your hand in your pocket Lerner everybody else around us have brought in one or two players. We haven't brought in anybody with less than a week to go what are we playing at. We haven't even had any solid rumours going around.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Lerner has dug up chunks to that club
Lambert believes his own hype, not 1 player tried to follow him from norwich, a much smaller club than Villa.
All the experienced players don't get on with him, who got Dimateo a cup @ Chelsea, the older players
No end of term players want to go to Villa
It is a club with papertalk ambition, poor manager with poor tactics & poor man management skills
Another john Gregory
Villa fans remember
Randy Lerner is not a football man, or a villa man he is a business man & villa are @ present a very poor business

Agree1 Disagree0

You have nailed it pal, Norwich are a much smaller club. You are obviously not a B6 supporter. Where are our experianced players? If what you are saying is right then this squad should be in the top 6. Regardless of what you think, Villa should be fighting for a top 6 place but while other clubs are stregthening Villa sold their good players. The Engand squad a couple of years back contained 8 players that had worn the shirt at Villa park but some were drawn away by ambition and money. Lerner is a business man and after O'Neil spending his money he has shut up shop, it is just a shame that the defence have not done the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring back John Gregory
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

Or that Dr Jo geezer, assuming he's not dead
Mendax {Ed007's Note - He isn't dead Mendax, we had him a Celtic manager in 98/99, I feel your pain.}

It is, without doubt, a bleak time for The Villa but we have to remain positive. I don't believe that we can get any worse and yet we are still (just) out of the relegation zone. Whilst they might be hard to come by, a few wins in the league and the picture will be a hell of a lot rosier... Massive 6-pointer on Tuesday but we have to believe. Confidence plays a massive part in football and we must get behind the team.. The fat lady is warming up but until she starts singing we have a chance. NewChateau have bought all these players and they might click straight away. Alternatively, they might take a long time to gel so hopefully we can beat them next week.. It might not seem likely, but neither was the 3-1 win at Liverpool!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

The Liverpool win was the worst result that happened. What it meant was that the players believed the hype and thought that they had turned the corner when actually they had not even reached the corner. Many supporters got excited but now they realise that it was a flash in the pan. Villa need to knuckle down and get btough in the box. Opponents are getting free headers in the box, school boy errors, but Lerner will not open his purse. If he wants Villa to be a success he would take action. Does he want success??

After the performance against Bradford on Tuesday, 5 players need to leave:

Bent - got to be a problem between him and Lambert

Agbonlahor - lackluster performance, didn't apply himself at all

Ireland - don't get me started

Bannan - weak, slow, not a prem player

and maybe N'zogbia - hasn't shown it for villa, but has looked decent last few games.

at least 150k of wages there.
Apart from that I'm looking forward to the challenge the championship offers.
UTV!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

At least gabby gets around the pitch if your looking at losing players sell given hutton warnock bannan albrighton nzogbia herd bent ireland as all of these put in lacklusture performances the crosses we put into the box are awful 1 in a 100 are decent, when you put a good ball in we score from it

Agree1 Disagree0

I want some kind of assurance that barry bannan will never wear the Villa shirt again

Agree1 Disagree0

You've got to give Bannan a chance

Im villa, this is the worst team and managment and owner since I can ever remember of my 28 years!
Its embarresing to be a villa fan at the minute, I will never forget my team but this is getting stupid! No money to spend, one week left of transfer window and no signings or any solid rumours.
At least we will get cheaper season tickets!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Don't count on it chap, lerner likes to make money, the tickets will stay the same

One week for Lerner to prove that he cares about Villa. At present he does not appear to give a damn what happens. Any football fan can tell him what is needed so why is he not responding? Do you think that he will shovel money to Lambert at the last minute as he did last window in a final offering? We look the worst team that has ever worn the famous shirts, even worse that the team that went down in 1959/60. Tongue in cheek, do you think that Lerner is getting the odds on Villa surviving raised so that he can make money with a late bet? Oh no I have to take my tablets again.

Southern Villan. 70 years down the pan.

Villa: Thought Bernard Matthews was the only guy selling Turkeys but it now appears that Delia Smith is just as good

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Haha delia didn't sell you a turkey mate your club stole one and I'm so happy he is failing his jut proves its not the manager it's the players and if Norwich go down ill be able to hold my head high as our players always show a fight. Yes we have been beaten 5.0 a lot but if you watch the game you will see Ch once we go 2.0 down he tells everyone to push and gives midfield a free role. So might as we try win or get a draw instead of just sitting back. I hope villa get out the relegation but it just proved what all is Norwich fans where saying that he did well at Norwich but 75% was the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol,
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

The players that Lambert bought and coached ?
Football is always about the players Einstein !
Give me strength
Mendax

ps I wouldn't be so smug either. Norwich are far from safe

Agree0 Disagree0

Like I say. I wouldn't be too smug mate
Going out of FA Cup at home to a
non-league side...what does that say about the manager and the players ?
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

Most of the players on the pitch today were Lambert signings,

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we have to accept that villa players just aren't good enough
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

Only a month ago Norwich fans were praising his signings. Make your minds up girls. You would love to have Lambert back with the canaries. No matter what you write, you are really p-ss-d off that he left you for a bigger job with a bigger club, with better pay. He may not be succcessful but he had ambition. Do you?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Norwich played Luton tomorrow wih their first eleven they would smash Luton. Whereas Bradford mullered Villa, took the mick and embarrassed them again, then Millwall rubbed their noses in it. So not just one humiliation, but 3 and two of those when you have already been given a slapping. Can't wait for May 4th, we WILL relegate you.xx
