I feel more sure than ever after yesterday that if we continue under Bruce we will struggle to make the playoffs, it doesn't matter who we play, our pattern of play never changes.
I don`t know if the Bruce fans on here realise that Mr Bruce also plays grealish out of position.
Grealish himself has stated many times that his preferred position is out on the left flank, enabling him to beat players and cut in on his favoured right foot.
I also think we should be playing Hourihane alongside Mcginn, its a no brainer for me.
In my opinion, we need to get some stronger and younger legs back in the side, and play people in the positions we brought them in for.
Surely the team and subs below set up in a 4-4-2 formation would give us more energy, creativity, and the ability to change things if the need be.

Villedave makes sense to me, Bruce definitely plays people out of position which doesn't make any sense. On a separate note, Chester has had a couple of poor games, whilst still class he has fell short in my opinion of what we expect. He had 5 yards on their forward before giving the penalty away, Nyland got him out of jail with his momenty lapse in concentration in the second half. We can't get a comfortable cushion no matter how much possession and chances we create so it's important that our defence do not switch off otherwise Reading will keep happening and stating the obvious we will not be in the hunt at the end of the season especially if our manager doesn't change things.

My thoughts on bruce are the same,
He does put players in alien positions and his tactical knowledge is zero.
I support him because he is the villa manager but he drives me mad with strange subs in the game,
Best player in pre season was de-laet but where is He?

Lansbury in rm he's out of position as he's a cm. Also having 2 maverick type players up top is a risk. El ghazi would be better on rm and use rhm up top until a better option became available.

And people think we are being harsh on Bruce you want to see all stick jose getting on other blogs fans want him out I'd swap him with Bruce easy.

We're 5 games in and 4 points off the top, new players in and some have gone and/ or injured, we're not clicking yet, but so what, once we do, happy days, let's see if bruce can bring in any more on loan before some on here erect the 'get him out' banners, geez, get a grip boys,3 weeks ago we were for the high jump, so stop moaning, and remember 1 thing to cheer yourselves up, at least we haven't got a manager at the helm who goes by the name of steve mcclaren, lighten up fellas.

Totally agree, I do not see how you can blame any of the last 2 results on tactics we had something like 38 shots at goal over the last 2 games and we have been undone by bad refs. I don't agree with Jedi in defence but I think the kid from utd will play there once he gets a few games under his belt.

Of course you can blame the tactics, there is nobody getting up to support or beyond Kodjia - The first time we did that yesterday we scored - We are also making silly mistakes at the back and conceding easy chances and goals, but we have a RB at RW, a CB at RB, a DMF at CB, and a RB at LB - You can't tell me Bruce is not to blame for this unnecessarily mackshift defence? The team is not playing as a unit as we have square pegs in round holes, that is Bruce's fault. Also, taking Kodjia off to be replaced by a LB at home to Reading when we were screaming out for another striker to kill the game baffles me, again tactics!

We have had the easiest run of fixtures we could ask for and have only taken 9 points, we have been in winning on a number of occasions this season and have managed to drop points! The fact that Bruce is still being defended baffles me, this is season 3 with him, we aren't 5 games in we are 70-80 and it's the same issues, week in week out!
