Anyone have any thoughts on the suggested boycott of World cup in Russia by black players, if the behaviour of Russian fans does not improve?
My own is that if it ever got to a point where black players felt they had to boycott what is largely seen as the summit of a players career, I would want to know why the white players were not boycotting in solidarity

Hi Mendax, as usual you raise a point that we should all be aware of.

It is a disgrace to the world not just football and as such it is not the players that should boycott the event, it is the entire football world.

FIFA should be encouraged to move the W. C. from Russia totally. However we have problems within our own leagues and several members of the public have been arrested but possibly thousands have got away with the appalling chants. It is a football weakness and the only way to rid games of the problem could be to automatically ban the club from any further games of any description and force the club to cease trading. ie no more football club.

Drastic measures but it is only the fans that can stop the chants from the terrace's.

Put plain dressed marshalls in the grounds with mini camera's so that these people can be identified. Any action that stops the problem is acceptable.

I always find it strange that there is this whole "kick racism out of football" campaign
As if it is perfectly acceptable in all other activities
