One of the big regrets for me last season was not giving petrov a contract. Even pay as you play. What he would have brought to the team, dressing room and fans may have been worth and extra 15 points.

Your thoughts would be appreciated gentlemen. And yours too Flackie ;-b.

What a great post, clever, thoughtful and articulate. Hard to think that it came from Irish! 😳

I agree, wouldn't of got many minutes, but would of been a great galvanising gesture, a great mascot.

Oh you'd be surprised Flackie. If I used all my fingers and toes I can count all the way to 20.

I'm very proud of that. And then there's that masters degree I have :-)

Guessing you are proud of those gcse's ;-b.

lol! Immensely! Both of them! 😜.

26 May 2017 09:36:08

26 May 2017 11:01:16

Football related, but not villa!
I can't understand why so many managers are walking away from their clubs.

For example, Gary monk. Does he think he will walk into a better job than Leeds?

25 May 2017 21:03:31
Crystal palace Flackie. Maybe not better than Leeds, but in the premier league.

25 May 2017 23:25:58
Might not get a bigger club but will get a bigger contract.

25 May 2017 23:48:23
The lack of integrity and loyalty in football is getting worse.
Hard to maintain passion for a sport that constantly takes takes takes.
Hey ho!

26 May 2017 00:17:06
I agree Flackie, now his a question for you do footballers care if they win or lose? I know a lot want to win but I don't think there bothard if they lose. might be just me but I really don't think players are as passionate as they once was. Now on to managers Big Sam left for family reasons which you can't blame him. Leeds had a new owner and Garry Monk wasnt happy apparently but on the subject Stevie Bruce has quit so many times at clubs aswel mate I think a manager as to be happy now days or he will walk. But people like remi garde and sherwood didn't walk they stayed in a impossible situation so there is some good guys I know they wasnt great managers but they showed guts staying.

Now this will probably sound slightly right of centre, but not intended as such. 20 - 30 years ago bulk of teams consisted of English, Irish, Scottish and welsh players with a slight sprinkling of European or South American.

The home nations lads knew the teams, knew the history and could associate with the fans. There was a general wish to win.

Fast forward 30 years where you have players from countries that have no idea where they are, who have no idea of the team, it's fans or it's history. Their philosophy being if the team goes down I get my agent to force a transfer.

I have no idea how to fix that problem, unless a struck rule is imposed that a certain proportion of the squad, say 65% are English etc. in the short term quality might suffer, but in the long term we may get the passion back from these ponces.

agree totally, monk leaving I find baffling, but for me just re-inforces my admiration for dyche. has had chances to leave burnley for bigger clubs, possibly not in a good a position as burnley currently, but many managers have made the jump for less.
i think brucie recognises he is a good position right now but i am sure he knows that the pressure is on this season.

25 May 2017 18:44:02
Hi guys been a while haven't been on here due to work . well its been an ok season. nxt season players should be better because of preseason and be fitter plus with 2or 3 signings we will be in top 6 if it wasnt for rdm first 14 games we would of been in top six if bruce was there from start . i'd like to see villa sign barry, wheater, gradel, plus tammy abrhams on loan.

I see Steve Bruce's lad Alex only found out Hull City had released him on twitter. Am I the only one who kind of wishes Villa had done that to Lescott? It would have been appropriate, especially if he replied like Bruce did, as they could then have said sorry the phone was in their pocket etc. Entirely unprofessional I know, but it would have been funny.

25 May 2017 09:37:18
You can bet he will come to Aston Villa now.

25 May 2017 13:18:24
Bruce junior?
Not good enough for me,
Keep it in the family don't they say.

25 May 2017 13:50:22
since when have we Worried about buying quality players lol.

25 May 2017 17:09:39
Cannot see alex bruce comin to villa park, think the bruce knows that he would come into to much critisism. Its already going to be a tough season ahead for him.
