And if Xia stated he had a gazillion million billion deposited in a British bank account, you would believe him?
This guy is a millionaire, not a billionaire, so some of his previous statements about intent and expenditure are divorced from reality.
Having said that, there is a slight swing in attitude being played out towards a favourable stance to Xia from the authorities. That doesn't mean a decision has been made but the atmospherics are improving.
With regards to a manager, it's coming down to someone who will accept a greater level of involvement from the chairman and that clearly indicates a continental appointment!

For the record, I'm not a doubter or a bluenose or a pessimist, I'm just not convinced by the good doctor just yet. This may be down to the fact that we have suffered the worst season in living memory under the ownership of a man who promised so much. Has he passed the fit and proper test then? Have yet to see an article yet. and you can forgive people for having doubters for having their doubts as we have been left down so many times before .
