Now I'm never going to be on the front cover of Vogue Magazine but Luca Modric is one ugly footballer!

He is mate but he can play ha ha.

Hi guys just wondering if anyone knows if we are keeping jack grealish and traore . i'm looking foward to season in championship think we could do very well with everything that's going on at villa its a new start for everyone . I hope we get rid of the clowns that were crap mainly the klingon bacuna richards an flabby an guzan . wot are your thoughts for new season an who do u think we should sign. in rdm we trust could be a great manager .

Its obvious we need a top goalscorer, realistically I would hope for Gayle or McCormack as they both want to leave current clubs and are of record great goal getters. I would also look to sign another winger, apart from Traore there isn't really another out and out winger at our club. Maybe a Matt Phillips or Nathan Dyer would help boost the clubs options going forward. I would also suggest a cm as gueye is most likely looking to leave, Tshibola from Reading has been linked but what about the Hungary CDM from the euros, solid player doesn't misplace a pass and just sits infront of the back four, worth a punt? The last few years we have had utter shit in goal, Guzan was good the first couple of years but has rapidly gone downhill with stupid errors that have cost us. Anyone would really do in goal, Pantilimon would be a bargain at the right price, also Marshall from Cardiff, pulled of some worldy saves when in the prem so either of them would be great.

1st time on here and looking through a few posts and people pointing out about giving Westwood a chance as he works hard this doesn't mean he is good enough just because he didn't have an attitude problem like a few last year (gabby, lescott, guzan, grealish etc) doesn't mean we have to keep him he simply isn't good enough to get us promoted yes he will do a job so will Sanchez but people seem keen to get rid of him, no mention also of getting rid of okore yet he was another last year refusing to sit on the bench.

25 Jun 2016 15:14:16
Think you need to re read, if indeed you are responding to my post.
I never suggested to keep him, although the idea of keeping him is better than some of the proposed replacements, I said he deserves better from us.
That HE is not to blame for where we are, and that the constant insults and blame he gets is not warranted.

25 Jun 2016 16:16:08
U May not of suggested to keep him but your happy with a team full of westwoods I'm not sure that would get us back to where we should be, I don't blame him for where we are simply saying he is not good enough like a lot more that people want out the door.

25 Jun 2016 16:44:06
You miss what I'm saying, I said I would take a team full of his attitude and work rate than a fractured team full of pre madonnas that are self obsessed.
He never once was captured on the front page of a news paper, and has as far as I know has never been in one for anything accept football.
Yet we constantly berate him, but him in same bracket as gabby, lescott, and Richards.
This is unfair.
I would rather have effort, work rate and a 7/ 10 than flair, promise and a fractious team, getting 5/ 10.

I agree there are hundreds of better ability players out there, and I seriously hope if Westwood goes, we replace him with one.
But in my opinion Westwood does what he is asked to do, by his coaches, and never hides, as I've said many times he is not ronaldo or messi, and has never pretended to be, we brought him From Crewe.

25 Jun 2016 16:59:40
You are missing what I'm saying work rate only is not good enough to get promoted, I don't put him in same bracket as Richards, lescott, gabby, bacuna, okore they have no respect for the club i'm simply saying he is not good enough doesn't matter if he came from Crewe or Real Madrid that's not the issue, the point being we need some quality in the side not average players that will make us a mid table championship side for the next 4/ 5 years.

25 Jun 2016 17:37:41
As I've said before, and again.
I accept he isn't everyone's cup of tea.
But everything he does is as much as he can do!
Yet you, and others, blame him, ride him and berate him.
It is not fair, justified or correct, when there are others not not playing to the best of their ability, and fall under the radar.

25 Jun 2016 17:49:55
Agree flackie.

25 Jun 2016 18:07:32
Read previous message I don't blame him and never given him any stick for how he has played I have just said he is not good enough and work rate is simply not a great excuse to use to to back him, yes many others in a villa shirt were not good enough if not all last season, u could include gana and Sanchez in same category work hard but no quality I'm not pointing Westwood out, there are very few I would keep but 20 odd players will not be sold and replaced.

25 Jun 2016 18:36:19
Think you need to read many posts from previous threads, possibly I'm tarnishing you with an undeserved brush.

Just one point, in my opinion, and I do accept I'm in the minority, of that midfield,
Westwood
Sanchez
Ghana
Veretout

The one from them I would keep, as you know would work hardest for the team, and despite what people say, the first thought has to be the team, is Westwood.
Might only do the dirty, ugly work, but if them, he does it best.

25 Jun 2016 18:49:28
Yes team comes first might be good to see Gary Gardner back, I do agree what he does is total commitment just don't believe that's good enough for ASTON VILLA FOOTBALL CLUB quality is also needed if we are to return to top flight.

25 Jun 2016 12:16:51
Any one else worried about lack of transfer activity in or out at villa park or am I jumping gun too soon thought lescot bacuna guzan gabby would have been released by now and thought we would have signed a lb rb cm and striker.

25 Jun 2016 13:45:13
Releasing players takes money an we ain't got any till we sell some players.

25 Jun 2016 15:39:11
How can you say we got no money when we just been bought worst post I've seen in donkey's! !

25 Jun 2016 16:08:16
We have been taken over yes, that though is no confirmation that we have money to spend I'm afraid.

25 Jun 2016 17:16:32
Well have we or have we not just spent 3 mill? I'm wasting my time aren't I?

25 Jun 2016 17:31:20
The owner had to prove he had money yo take villa forward if he didn't he would not of gotten accepted, now stop you moaning,

25 Jun 2016 19:08:00
All you need to prove to the FA is that you have enough money to operate for 2 years

We could be getting 20-30 mil from players leaving the club, I'd be very surprised if we spent that on players comin into the club.

25 Jun 2016 10:18:37
Sinclair to Celtic? A big loss or £6 million in the bank for better player?

25 Jun 2016 12:19:00
Good business as done nothing really and nothing at baggies really need to shift bacuna lescott richards Westwood and gabby now too.

{Ed007's Note - Celtic won't be paying £6m for Sinclair.}

25 Jun 2016 12:21:08
Definitely 6 mil in the bank. The Championship is a chance for our young wingers ( Grealish and Traore) to show how good they are.

25 Jun 2016 13:21:48
I think the Daily Record in Scotland said that Villa rejected a 2m bid for him, so I don't know whether we want to keep him or want more money. I think we signed for 2m but he certainly hasn't increased his value.
