I have also heard the Kouyate story, and of the little I have seen of him, he seems very good. I hope it does come to fruition, because even though Vlaar is a good tackler, he lacks positional sense and is not that good in the air from set pieces surprisingly

Given set to join Doncaster on loan with them paying 80% of his wages. {Ed030's Note - Very good signing for Doncaster imo. }

My moneys going on donny promotion if this goes head, lot clean sheets there

Must be exciting times to support Doncaster, a real concerted effort to make the Premiership having only just been promoted.

To the people who keep harping on about gareth barry being 12 years "loyal" I couldn't disagree more. During his time at villa the closest he was to moving was to portsmouth and look at them now. He never really had the opportunity to go to a better club than villa and the first opportunity he had to get more money he upped and left. At the time he said he wouldn't move to a club that wasnt in the champions league and then joined city who were not in the champions league because of money just shows what sort of a bloke he is. In fact we finished higher than city that year. He is way past his best and looked out of sorts in the premiership last season and arguably a lot of the blame for citys under achieved season could be put on his shoulders. We do not want someone with his mentality around our promising youthful squad he will influence them to leave as soon as a few notes are waived in their face. Can see him going to stoke who in my opinion will be relegated next season under a terrible manager in hughes. Personally would like to see us get scott parker for a bit of experience a true professional with a good head on him could get a few good seasoms out of him and wouldn't cost the earth.

Didnt we finish 6th and Man City finish 5th when Barry left?

Agreed mate, yeah barry did a lot for us for so many years and he was a great player up until the day he left, but like many players, the devil that is money went to his head and I will never forgive him for that.

Actually after saying he wanted cl. When city come in he said he wanted a new challenge a year after wanting cl. So everyone's argument is full of mixed up quotes

Yes Barry played for us for 12 years and for about 7-8 years of that he was a fringe player but did become instrumental in midfield for us after starting as a LB.

Any player who plays for one club for that length of time deserves respect regardless of how he left.

AS you or I would of made the same choice as it's obvious from then Liverpool were a sinking ship not able to compete for top 4 any more and Man City were only going to get better. Also Liverpool offered 80k a week and he got 100k a week from City. So honestly who would turn that down.
