27yo French CB, Bakary Soro, of Arles Avignon Ligue 2 could be likely signing for Villa as he's out of contract this summer and would be a free. Plenty of experience, but I would be suspect another younger CB also would need to be brought in, don't think PL would just bring in one especially from ligue 2.

I think benteke is just trying to push his wages up but if he wants to go let him join arsenal they have won jack for years I know there in champions league but they have no chance of winning that we need to make sure we have someone ready to come in cus if this drags to august it don't help us can you see wenger paying 30 m for a player who has been great in his first season I can't but I personally think he will stay

Benteke is not leaving Villa for two reasons! One, he is very happy at villa and so is his family. Two, He wouldn't risk a move the year before the world cup that would be insane. People make me laugh! These so called Villa fans panicking thinking he's off ain't got a brain between them to see through a bs story. If benteke wants to leave then there's the door. He's not bigger than us and he needs to keep in mind that we own him, its up to us if he stays or goes not him. Although if somebody offers £25m i'd bite their hand off. We can get two players as good for that who don't have their heads up their own backsides. I'd rather have two level headed hard working players than one lazy benteke who's half decent at winning ariel battles.

I know that I'll probably be in the minority with this one, but if a Arsenal or United come in for Benteke then I'd bid him a fond farewell. He did great for us and similarly to Young, I wouldn't blame him for going to a bigger and better club. I expect we'd get a good £25-£30 million for him. Providing that as I expect Lerner reinvests the money into the squad, we can build a team instead of being heavily reliant on one man, with the money we could sign Dragovic (£6 mill), Cresswell (£5 mill), Loe (£3 mill) & Bony (£12 mill).

Haven't been on here in a while because of the doom mungers sayin we were going to get relegated, glad to see they've all done one. Just a shame we got hyped up Norwich fans thinking they're better than what they are, hopefully karma comes round and they get a one way ticket to the panda pop league

Sorry Richard, all cautious supporters are still on here being realistic. Delighted that Villa stayed up. Now what did you contribute to the teams performance. FA. All you contributed was to be critical of those that urged caution when Villa were not safe. Even Lambert and Gabby made the same statement that Villa were not safe. Are they doom mungers?

Most are not stating that Benteke will leave, most are looking at ways of improving the team to move Villa up the table to top half, with Benteke, even into the top 6. It is the followers of other teams that are claiming he will move. As the head boy I would have been sure you could read what people are really saying.

Should add significant funds to the transfer coffers for Lambert to find another gem. They are out there, but only the shrewd clubs look for them. The top 4 or 5 will buy established players and pay £20/30m for them. And that is where we came in. Additions to Lamberts fund.
