Ed - surely a pointless exercise, just like offering stadium naming rights so in the big wide world the stadium is called something else but the fans will still refer to it as the original name, he'll always be kingvilla to the users of this site (note I didn't say fans) .

Masons a good young player but with tish, jedinak and Westwood already we have 3 players of a similar ilk. Will Hughes would be my preferred choice, would cost a pretty penny but well worth the investment.

well, according to the Oxford dictionary it's a deep purplish-red colour. or a bottle of French wine!
Not being facetious, just trying to point out why someone might of disagreed with you, as I am pretty sure Palace have never referred to their colours as claret and blue.

A small piece of history about our great club.
CryStAl Palace officially wear claret and blue.
The reason being that when they first formed they were supplied with kit from no other than AVFC.
