The F. A. have had a good look at our new owner and have now decided that Mr. Xia's drug empire is generating enough funds for him to be passed a fit and proper owner and as with Mr Abramovich they can find no reason to think otherwise.

Work on his theme park is to begin immediately with the first attraction being an underwater theme containing St. Andrews and is to be named the sunken football club. He would like to thank the British press for being so useful during this transaction and looks forward to wiping his backside with the next edition of the Birmingham Mail.

24 May 2016 01:07:29
Oh well, there goes the neighbourhood, our club is French Connection U.K.

23 May 2016 18:19:51
Please don't go for giggs, he's getting ready to go through a divorce, has no clue about transfers or real man management skills, and no doubt unsavioury things will come out in the press, i don't want that association, aren't things bad enough already?, come on boys, as Allyp1972 said we should go all out for Allardyce, if no go, the 2 candidates left are pearson and bruce; and to be honest, i'd go brucy all day long, albeit all bets off if we could get Allardyce though!

24 May 2016 00:48:41
Allardyce is already working in the premiership why would he drop, and Bruce could be there why would he drop.

24 May 2016 00:57:13
Your right Ruggerz, clutching at straws is my only reply, what or who else is there?

23 May 2016 22:31:20
So once again i look at the Evening Mail reports on Aston Villa and every story is negative. We have a headline "Moyes turns Villa down" and by the way they have produced 2 or 3 articles in as many hours about thé same thing seemingly wanting to smooth over our Takeover positivity with more clouds of darkness! i'm really not bothered about him, i'm far to excited about thé takeover to be down and confident we will get the right man who i believe is Pearson! Come on "St Andrews Times", cut the rubbish

23 May 2016 23:14:16
I agree Devlins, They say he said he doesn't want to slip down to the championship but i bet none of them have even spoke to him, i doubt he as even said anything to anyone and none of them even know for sure that he was offered the job. Just guess work by the press most of the time and just like they did with the buyers they switch and change there opinions constantly proving they actually have no facts, "St Andrews Times" is just one of many trash papers.

Now there coming up with this time frame for a manager, but they know already he won't appoint a manager until he his cleared to take ownership because surely he won't have any jurisdiction over club decisions until he is officially installed as owner.

It is only a rumour that David Moyes was offered the job anyway he may well have been interviewed but I think he was ruling himself out because we already have a manager xia our new owner said that he has already got a manager and is just waiting one more week to announce it! Could it be that David Moyes has ruled himself out because it's not him! An not because we offered him the job! JUST BE PATIENT OUR NEW OWNER HAS HIS MAN ALL THESE RUMOURS ARE JUST FALSE AND PAPER TALK YOU WILL FIND OUT THIS WEEK. BUT TRUST ME MOYES WAS NOT OFFERED THE JOB!

23 May 2016 18:12:28
A few peeps saying moyesy was only using our interest to push along a third party who are looking at him, also come to light is that while at preston north end he was offered the opportunity to join us as assistant manager to graeme taylor for 1 year, with him then taking over and taylor moving up stairs.

he turned us down citing being his own man; nothing should hold him back. fast forward to now and the doughnut is just using interest from us again! jog on moyes, you'll always be a nearly man, never quite good enough.

23 May 2016 18:42:45
i agree with you mate keep jogging moyes.

23 May 2016 19:49:48
I'm gutted Moyes has ruled himself out, really disappointed; he would have been perfect for us
Why we have to act like 13 year old schoolboys who have been knocked back by some girl we liked at school and are now claiming we never fancied her anyway, is beyond me
Sorry gents but it sounds really pathetic.

23 May 2016 20:28:14
Totally agree mendax, moyes would have been perfect for us but if he doesn't want to manage our great club then it's his loss. Whoever gets the job must be supported by the new owner's and us fan's.

23 May 2016 20:30:04
Think giggs would be a good shout, he needs to start somewhere. If not him then go for glen hoddle ( still has so much to offer )

23 May 2016 20:52:06
Hoddle would be good to work alongside Giggs.

24 May 2016 00:42:16
Re moyesy, never wanted him in the first place, just like he never wanted us in reality, his agent must be loving all the free publicity, questionable about him being ideal, but everyone's point of view is equal, so fair play.

24 May 2016 05:21:24
first of all I'm really happy moyes is not coming. everything about the guy makes me fall asleep. boring person boring football boring excuses when he fails. 2nd forget giggs if we are going down that route get tim sherwood back give him money and let him buy his own players this time and get on with the job.

24 May 2016 06:11:05
Kingvilla, bloody genius idea! get tim back, he'll make his bones with us in the championship and then onwards and upwards. kingy for president i say!

23 May 2016 15:56:20
Noticed that Mourinho hasn't taken the Man U job yet- has he fallen in love with the Villa? 😉.

23 May 2016 18:04:58
We can only dream (unfortunately)

24 May 2016 05:24:03
he would not have the balls to take on such a job. he likes ready made teams with loads to spend. nether proved apart from a win in champions league with Porto that he can build a team from nothing. always takes jobs where he will be in strongest team.

23 May 2016 13:03:40
Could a higher profile manager be lined up?

23 May 2016 13:15:22
Crazy idea but would we be able to get giggs? If Jose takes over at Man Utd, would he be tempted to take his first job? His contacts and experience would command respect and prove invaluable surely.

23 May 2016 13:18:40
Like who I think Moyes if we get him will be quality vtid.

23 May 2016 14:35:28
Agreed I think he would prove a great prospect for villa but according to reports he has ruled himself out, as I don't personally fancy Pearson warnock or giggs would be my choice if they were interested.

23 May 2016 16:25:48
A more likely outcome is that Xia is blocked from becoming the new owner.

23 May 2016 16:54:54
I can't see Lerner taking a risk of the sale falling through rejecting other offers for a risky sale,

It's taken two years to get to this point I can't see him risking losing the sale because he went with a dodgy character. Villa would of done their own research and wanted proof of his resources before advanced talks were announced.

23 May 2016 19:52:28
Why on earth would we want Giggs?
His whole football career has been spent in the rarified atmosphere of top 4 of the premier league and he has next to no managerial experience.
What could possibly make him suitable?

24 May 2016 05:25:46
Pearson is the man. if not him bring back tim sherwood.

23 May 2016 10:35:42
Okay so I have held my councel on this in the interests of positivity but now I feel it's time to say just how massively Hollis has messed up. He has been silent since doubts started to emerge late last week about Mr Xia and even if he does now end up being legitimate he has the media crawling all over him. Come on really who can honestly say that they weren't just a little convened last Wednesday when the name Dr Xia first emerged and we all starting googling and found nothing at all? Not on any rich lists and no company accounts or information. I am so very sorry but this is looking bad, very bad. So so disappointed.

23 May 2016 10:54:03
Apologies for the typo, of course I meant concerned not convened.

23 May 2016 11:50:52
I think you need to have another look.

23 May 2016 13:00:22
He did an interview with the Mail where he proved he had at least £4bn in a bank account. so he's ambitious and has x4 as much money as Lerner. we are in a real pickle.

23 May 2016 13:42:49
too many things don't add up about this deal

staff being made redundant 2 weeks before a takeover, the involvement of chris samuelson, the price its been sold at stinks of desperation from lerner, the claims of super stardom by our completely unknown potential new owner

my old nan used to tell me if things look too good to be true they probably are.

im genuinely hoping this deal crashes now, really do hope i'm wrong but this looks way too wrong to me.

23 May 2016 13:45:59
It wasn't £4bn it was £.4bn, and it was a printed bank transfer which the paper could not verify.

24 May 2016 05:28:12
you will all look back in 3 years and say why did I doubt this guy. he has plenty of money and will pass all tests no problem.

23 May 2016 07:28:20
I've put to teams with some ins and lots of outs I've gone on current market value so give or take a bit.

gk green free
rb Hutton
cb manga £3 mil
cb okore
lb amavi
rm mcgeady 3.5 mil
cm cheikh ndoye 2.75 mil
cm de guzman 3 mil
lm sinclair
cf gestede
cf mccormack 10 mil.

gk steer
rb christie 1 mil
cb baker
cb Clark or toner
lb bennet or youth
rm traore
cm Gardner
cm Westwood
lm grealish
cf nahki wells 3 mil
cf kozak or Hepburn-murphy.

total outlay about £26.5 million.

players to sell and there wages
guzan 2 mil 30k
richards 3 mil 50k
lescot 1 mil 45k
cissohko 1.5 mil 24k
agbonlahor 2 mil 55k
ayew 5.5 mil 33k
bacuna 2 mil 25k

veretout 6 mil 28k
gueye 6.5 mil 32k
n'zogbia free 55k
richardson free 22k
bunn 500k 17.5k.

that would bring in 33m if we got near those fees and free up 434k a week. Gil I'd keep as well and also factor youth in. we could have championship team proven players and be in profit.

23 May 2016 13:02:30
That's a good team but I think we should aim higher than Green, we need a new rb, Okore will refuse to play and will leave this summer and Sinclair is awful.

23 May 2016 04:44:00
I think villa should put a cheeky 6 million pound bid in this summer for
Adnan Januzaj. he looks like his future at man u is in doubt and given a good run of games in the championship could recapture his best form. we need wide players that can create get crosses in and score and for me he ticks all the boxes and with someone like moyes in charge who played him at man u I think he could be swayed.

23 May 2016 12:35:56
Him and grealish swapping sides during the match and Adama playing behind in a ten role would be frightening for any team.

23 May 2016 16:07:08
Why £2m?
Start at £2m and negotiate. He is down the play list at MU and we could get him even cheaper.

24 May 2016 05:31:12
2m? I said 6m . you will not get januzaj for 2m oldvillan he is a good player and could flourish in a team where he plays week in week out.

23 may 2016 01:38:17
i have no problem with david moyes he has 50 million to get aston villa back in the premier league plus the best training facilitys in the league oh and the best pitch not to mention grelish troare ruddy an gill we have a half decent team aswell. you are all saying its hard yes it can be hard for most teams but most teams don't have 50 million to spend and everything perfect to work with. eg preston budget spent last year 6 million leeds budget around 8 million birmingham city 4 million.

we have everything layed out at aston villa teams like rotherham an burton can only dream of what we have facts are villa an newcastle are the only good teams in that league the rest have a poor budget an poor facilities. if moyes can't get villa up with 50 million and this great stadium pitch an facilities then i wouldn't bother managing again.

23 May 2016 02:54:30
do you not think Newcastle and Norwich will have a say. Newcastle will spend as well otherwise Rafa would not stay. Norwich already have the players for this league. look I think we will be in with a good chance of going up with our side and the money available but to describe it as easy is quite ludicrous. getting confidence back into our players won't be easy for a start.

23 May 2016 12:39:44
After bacuna's statement I don't think they are short of confidence, I think they need to remember how to win, gelling as a team and stability, a manager with a vision and time to get it right and we will be fine I'm sure.
