Use our rumours form to send us aston villa transfer rumours.

In 22 years of supporting the Villa, we have the worse team collectively I have ever seen. Notice I used the word COLLECTIVELY, the reason being is that we have true proven quality in that squad (Nzog, Bent, Benteke, Ireland, Vlaar when fit, Westwood looks like a player) all of which Lambert is struggling to get a 90 minute performance out of. He appears to need to tinker and change formation far to regulalry watching our four strikers fight each other for a tiny bit of space was embarrassing on Tuesday night and showed us just how desperate Lambert has become. I couldn't care-less if we lose to Milwall, actually I would welcome it as the FA cup is distraction we don't need. However if we lose to NUFC on Tuesday our season will have gone from bad to toxic. I love the Villa but can not see how these massive problems are going to be resolved. AVFC TILL I DIE.

Villa's biggest problems are the lack of ability to defend set pieces.
Villa fall apart on every set piece regardless of if it's a corner or a freekick for me Clark could become the steel we need in midfield under Mcleish He played well in centre mid, I honestly feel Vlaar and Baker would be better at the back.

In Addition to this Villa don't seem to have any variation tactically as much as Lambert trys to put this into the team with changing formations. As Villa lack and lack variety tending to long ball it and I thought they were a prem team were as my sons under 14 team have better football brains than this

I don't call Nzog Quality and Ireland has not played a good game since leaving Man city, so you no nothing about midfield players, we play like lambs Joey Barton might be a bit grazy but he gives his all, even the great players have a desire, there none at VILLA PARK

Only one week left of the window and the the only rumour is wether Lambert has quit or not. We need players desperately so where are the links?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What decent player in their right
mind would want to go to such a shambles?

Why isn't Lerner backing lambert. We need some financial investment otherwise we are going down. Also we need to learn how to defend from corners.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Lerner is still getting over what Oneil did to him and waste all that money, 10m on average for a 1m player. Every manager since has paid the price, Lerner get over and back Lambert...UTV

I think we need to be clever now, sell everyone for whatever is offered except bent eke, baker, Westwood, Lawton and Weizmann.
With fifty million cleared off the wage bill we can start to plan for our renaissance, unfortunately in the championship but at least we will not slowly die under huge annual losses.

Looking at the performances since the Liverpool win, our obvious defensive frailties, lack of quality throughout the squad, lack of confidence & lack of fight I am struggling to see where any points are coming from. Looking at our remaining fixtures I cannot see where the required points to stay up are coming from, even if we get ourselves into a 2 goal lead you cannot say we look like getting 3 points. Newcastle are in a similar state but at least are being backed financially and I think the 2-3 fresh faces will spur them to a comfortable victory at VP next Tuesday. If we lose to Milwall on Friday the season is in danger of collapsing beyond repair. It is pointless sacking Lambert as it is evident Lerner isn't interested or willing to back him so how will any other manager ( no matter how big/experienced) fair any better. I am fed up with people listing made up targets on here or other sites. Lets face it our club is a laughing stock & we are in serious danger of finishing bottom not just relegation. This side is by far the worst I have seen since the Graham Taylor days. Bad times are sadly ahead.

Our defensive qualities were a disgrace last night. Vlaar & Gabby lost their number 9 3 or 4 times in the box within the first ten minutes and Vlaar was countless times the wrong side of his man yet we still didn't learn. Does anyone else think taking Bannan off was a mistake? yes he was as crap as the other ten men but at least he was attempting to play football. Ireland for me is a disgrace & I for one will be glad to see the back of him.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Banana was a waste of space as he is most of the time. N'Zog was again the leading light on a crap night. Let us be really honest, most of the squad are of poor standard and need a kick up the ar-e. They won't get any better no matter what they do. Look at the players that were allowed to leave for peanuts. Cahill, Routledge, Gardener, Ridgewell are some that come to mind very quickly. Why was there potential not acknowledged at VP. Too many talented players have left VP for a song. We never seem to try and get an established player from another club, we just give them ours. Until ambition is shown in the owner we will not acheive anything. Deadly was a pain but at least he kept us solvent and backed the manager, most of the time.

The fact we moved out of the relegation zone with a decent point should not mask the facts, a better side would have devoured us, AM {although a much hated negative tactician}would not have let a 2 nil lead slip nor would he have substituted Nzogbia irrespective of his recent return from injury.

Vlaar's return was welcomed and our saviour, Benteke, Lowton have been PL best purchases probably on the advice from others more knowledgeable & Savi about the game.

Aston Villa actually don't need that much to create a more industrial menacing side. we need steel & creative thrust in the middle and the final third. Lerner must get Coutinho a snip @£10mill or less {our new Merson/Ginola our affordable Silva/Mata} even the likes of Newcastle/Liverpool could exploit this bargain. Sissoko @ £3mill is a NO Brainer and as for Aubameyang he should be an immediate replacement for Dire Bent.

BENT MUST GO even for £9mill if we're lucky otherwise he'll cost us more in the long term. Bent would never in a million years have scored the type of Goal the Awesome BENTEKE did, even hit and miss Gabby's goal would be beyond Bent so why have him on the bench let alone on our payroll.

The fact we haven't made any progress in the transfer market reveals a much bugger problem at the club, the more the clock runs down the harder it will be, the loss of sponsorship is just the beginning,, LERNER take note speculate to accumulate it's worst in the championship, we all know as fans that you've spent a tidy some on the club but that was in the hands of your poor appointments, Get the above three players if PL is the wrong man to motivate winners then replace him now, otherwise he is your man for now & the championship SO BACK HIM ON QUALITY SIGNINGS ONLY!

after watching over the past 8 weeks or so it seems obvious that we have players who are not up to the job delph, bannan, nzogbia, players who appear they don't want to be there
bent, ireland etc what we need is some old heads to help the young talent we have option 1 bring back from loan warnock? option 2 buy we need a defender central, we need a ball winner in midfield we need a craetive midfid player someone who can go past players and create, something that was missing last night, we miss gary gardner, what's happening with richard dunne? we must stay up this year no matter what!

we must do whatever it takes to do that if we were to go down ask yourself which players we have would stay and help us get back up which players have a clause in there contract which allows them just to walk away.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

CNZ has been our best player in recent weeks do you know anything about football? Do you goto Villa Park on a regular basis. ST holder who has not missed one game this season

Most of them would look good in the championship and unfortunately they may well be where they belong next season

Villa seem to be good for the first half & rubbish on the 2nd half!
Benteke might be good but he misses far too many sitters but can score the wonder goals is just potty.
I'm not calling for Lambert's head yet but he has to make Lerner realise he needs a few more EPL experienced recruits.

To all villa fans remember carrow rd last game of the season there's only one paul lambert one paul lambert there's only one paul lambert ha ha ha you got what you wanted you wanted entertaining football your getting it his motto is trying to out score every team but as we know it doesn't always work.what do you villa fans think of him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think he's building something good only I think as he's not being given funds to get the last 2-3 players we need that will be our failling as we need a solid defensive midfielder and another cb potentially another winger

the only thing that pisses me off is set pieces
