Although I've been very critical of Lambert for his lack of tactical knowledge, selection and substitutions over the last 18 months I've always said he should stay and complete the job, afterall I was one of many villa fans who thought he was the best man for the job, which is probably why I've been so willing to give him more time than I would have if it was anyone else in charge.

I don't think we'll go down but it's getting to the point where I can't see any reason why he should stay past the summer, although he's obviously had to rebuild the whole squad he's making far to many mistakes and its really testing my patience, not to mention my nerve.

Something needs to change, the coaches or the manager. The players don't seem to be responding to the coaching because their still making the same silly mistakes and none of them players have improved as individuals.

And the manager needs to stop telling us how "excellent" we were after a defeat and start telling these players its not good enough and they need to wake up from the daze their in!

And Lambert needs to wake up himself an start getting the selection, tactics and subs right.

Most managers in the prem drop players or drop hints that they will drop a player if performances don't improve, Lambert seems to reinforce how good they are after a shocking display, I'm getting fed up

Relegation fodder me thinks! and all this rubbish about Vlarr being class is a joke if he'd stayed on his feet we would of escaped with a point. I haven't seen LAMBERTS interview but I reckon it will be somthing like "we were excellent, we should, ve got somthink blah blah blah" sick of this dross week in week out and a manager who seems inept. I get very frustrated when I see the team throw awayopportunities like they did today. No one owns the problem, they give it to another player. We seemed happy to let them run at the back line but always looked second best. Lerner has not given PL sufficient funds to get the type of player he needs in the team. I am sure PL knows who he would like but ifqw Scrooge gives him championship money then that is what we get. His instructions are buy cheap and see what you can do! We need Okore in the back line ASAP Vlaar cannot cope with the dead legs around him. If Lerner won't open his purse then we will never find out what PL could do with funds. Before all and sundry post to rubbish PL, ask yourelves

I tend to agree
1 shot on target against a poor Newcastle side who were low on confidence. Even the Geordies were doing their best to help us, by staying silent for 80 minutes yet we still could not capitalise

What baffles me is that against Cardiff albrighton was our best player yet gets dropped against Newcastle when they have defensive frailties down the right. All our best attacks came down that channel today and if albrighton was playing we would have seen a different outcome in the scoreline. Tactically shocking from the gaffer.

Old villa PL bought these players not Lerner sorry would not trust PL with big money can manager a championship club (He could have bought 3class players instead of those no-good young and hungry players) villajk

Vlaar is a very good center half. Look at what we have got without him when he has been injured. Nothing. If your going to have a go at an individual player don't make that vlaar because we would be detached without him. Joe Bennett is the one to question. He had to survive 10 minutes without making a stupid mistake because Bertrand was drained and he couldn't even do that. He is an awful, awful player and to be honest I thought defensively we looked okay until he came on. don't get me wrong we were absolutely awful today but I do see some improvements defensively. We couldn't keep the ball in midfield and we don't have any flair players that can take a player on and hit a quality shot. We don't get benteke on the ball enough and dropping lowton, who is our most creative player ( kinda sums villa up our most creative player is the right back) can't get into our team. So much is wrong at villa at the moment but none of it is vlaars fault

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree about Bennett. He is appalling

If Vlaar had've stayed on his feet, the chances of Remy scoring would have been seriously diminished and we probably would've sneaked a draw - yes Bennett is awful, but so is Luna, KEA, Sylla, Holt, Clarke, Baker. shall I continue?! AGD VILLA

Very poor show again from a very poor Villa side.
Lack of ability, lack of idea`s, lack of passing ability, lack of passion, lack of guidance, in fact we lack it all.
This will be a close call if we stay up or go down.

I am really not happy at all, and fear the worst.

Would love to see Joleon Lescott join in the summer on a free transfer since vlaar has injury problems. This would allow Clark and baker to learn from an experienced left footed cb. If we could get him on wages of £50-60,000 I'd take him.
