To the muppet below who stated that o neill wasted a fortune on players!
what profit did we sell james Milner for?, What profit will we be making on Ashley Young, What value will we be putting on Stewert Downing. Add up the cost of all the players u listed & we made that on the james milner sale!
If you are going to slag off O neill at least put a balanced opinion - Muppet

Believable2 Unbelievable4

We made 8 million on the Milner sale remember we got Ireland in that transfer who was rated at 8 million Young were making 6.5 million so combind that's 14.5 million Davis cost 8.5 and was sold for 3.5 million Cahill we could have got 8-9 back then if he hadnt been frozen out and we got 3 million Gardener we should of kept but also got froze out so again only 3 million could of got 6-8 million if he was playing reo-coker signed for 4.5 million let go for sweet FA and that's without listing the others we lost money on. And Heskey 3 million and all the wasted chances he's had going for 500,000 now can't wait to see his and carew's replacement

Now don't get me wrong O'neill was a very good manager in some respects and got us up there challenging the big and if he had of rotated his squad a little more as he ran then his first string into the ground even brought the young player of ther year 09 and never played him in Delph it would of been more use sending him back to leeds on loan for 2 seasons only now is he being touted to break the first string next year And O'neill never gave the Academy kids a game either which is something we started to see under Houllier and Mcleish has said he'll make more use of our talented Academy youngsters.

Now don't go thinking I'm a O'neill hater as I'm not he was a great manager but there were a few bad and stubbon decisions the worst being the year we were touted to win the uefa cup and he fielded a weakened side to see us knocked out (that was gutting)

note to villa fans how to find a new manager
make a shortlist
discuss privately top choices
interview them
decide on best choice
offer contract
announce new manager

im not the biggest fan of the blues board as they have gone back on promises on funds but they have shown alot more respect then the villa board when they were chasing chelsea manager ancelotti fulham manager hughes bcfc manager mcleish. a bit of respect by the board for the way they approached a manager and a bit of realism by the fans as we know we are not man utd and can't attract some of the greatest managers in football unlike some.

Why don't you find out the facts before spouting your mouth off. we never approached ancelotti or hughes who neither were attached anyway, the only person we did was martinez and i seem to remember whelan commending villa for their conduct stating he wished all clubs acted in the proffessional manner in which they did. mcleish tendered his recogniton due to the interference of your board. why are you always on our site anyway? worried you are going out of business? jealous? either way just f**c off back to your shed and your own site you bluenose pr**k

Agree0 Disagree0

Doc do you come on here just to be harassed or because you miss Mcleish or maybe to see when we sign your keeper and maybe johnson

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he gets off on the abuse! can imagine him wearing a big nappy crying coz the scum got relegated and now lost their manager and soon to lose their keeper and best player!

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly apology for ancelotti who villa did not approach. hughes though was approached and was still employed by fulham at the time. also i did not put martinez name on their as he was approached the right way. mcleish emailed his resignation which was rejected and talked to villa before talks between 2 clubs had allowed him to talk and compensation was confirmed. finally i have started visiting this due to the recent move of mcleish and the current rumours of foster dann and johnson. only here to see the potential future of bcfc players and have no interest in any other moves of villa.

Rangers have told Villa McGregor is not for sale
As a Villa Fan I would prefer to Foster or Given pull our number 1 jersey on as i Feel there of proven quality in the Prem were as Mcgregor plays in the spl and only gets tested in two matches a season against Celtic so could he be worthy of the fast pace of the Prem???

Come on Villa fans what do you think

Villa set to make a 8.5 million bid for defoe and if the bid fails apparently Mcleish will go for Pavlochenko as a back up to bolster attack now Heskey is finally on the way out (o'neills worst ever signing)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Worse than Agathe, Dunne, Salifou, Sidwell, Shorey, Routledge, Beye, Marshall. MON wasted millions and some fools want him back

Dunne had a great first season. He hasn't been a waste.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Dunne was flatered in an over performing team and had milner tracking back, warnock playing the best football of his career. he can only pass in the direction he is facing and looked like he had one too many pies last year! sunday league stuff from him and collins last year and the pair of them clearly had to much to say off the field. .i say if as rumoured wolves-dunne and bburn-collins we should take the money and good ridance from b6

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunne and collins have been the best centre back villa has had in along time and warnock played brillient but they didn't play well this year coz a good manager left before the season

Agree0 Disagree0

O'neill was a great Manager who at times was brillient but he also made some really s**t decisions I.E. some of his transfers he brought were terrible and over priced he also froze out 3 players who were good players Curtis Davis, Craig Gardener and Gary Cahill these were all good players and i expect them all to be commanding large transfer fees in the near future

O'neills biggest flaw was stubboness to run the same 16 players into the ground so they couldn't maintain there challenges on the top 4 i feel if he had of rotated the squad a little we would of cracked the top on at least one of those seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

So Dunne and Collins are the best centre halfs we have had for a while eh? Ive seen milk turn faster than them and the pair of them can only pnt the ball forward in hope it finds a claret and blue shirt! neither them are fit to lace Mellbergs, Laursens, Southgate or Paul Mcgraths boots. . and O'neil leaving isn't an exscuse for the trouble they caused off the field last year or the piss poor performances on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very true they Are good centre half's although just cause o'neill that shouldn't of effected there performance and yes when you list our best centre halfs ever they don't compare (although i never rated Southgate he was always scared of a head on challenge)

Agree0 Disagree0

Aston villa's best centre backs ever are laursen and mellberg say no more!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but i agree mellberg and laursen have been the best centre backs ever but one left threw injury and the other left now tell me who is better now?
