Another good win, made even better with the team we had out . We have to get these kids tied down on good contracts . All the way through, non of them looked out of place . Clark had a good game, just a shame he hasent got a left foot. Doyle-Hayse, made everyone see why we can get rid of Gardener .
Bree was better when he switch to CH, he seems to read the game better, from there . Thor was like a new player, he certainly deserved his goal . Worked his socks off, best game he's had for us . Hogan showed what he can do, if he gets this service, second goal brilliant . Albersts goal and headstand, brilliant as well .
As I say this crop of kids look outstanding, get them on long contracts before, the vultures start gathering . Bring on Friday . Onwards& Upwards Villaforever.

When you say better service, his first goal yes, but did you see his second? That was probably the hardest chance he had all season and to many strikers not even a chance, he made that goal himself and fair play to him. We need to keep him playing and get his confidence up, for every goal he scores he misses 2 or 3 easier chances, give him game time and he'll be banging in all 3. Really hope we see him up top with Davies at some point on Friday, let Davies do all the work hogan doesn't/ can't hold the ball up, build up the play, then let Hogan do what he does best, make the runs, get into the positions and finish the chances.

Seems the squad I put up earlier was right, starting 11 should strong enough to win and O'hare, Clark and Doyle-Hayes getting a start is brilliant. Remember last year when everyone loved to point out that Bruce never used youngsters and that was the source of all our problems.

22 Aug 2017 18:56:15
Very pleased to see o'hare and doyle-hayes
These 2 could be very good young kids if they are used by the manager,

What's everybody's views on this snoggrass rummor?
I think he would be a class signing but then I fear green would be dropped to bench
I rate green personally,

22 Aug 2017 17:03:15
I think he would be a great addition. Hopefully it would free green to play as a second striker, or push snodgrass more central?!

22 Aug 2017 17:57:35
Agree Flackie, he was Hulls top scorer first half of last season playing as a number 10, hope we pull this one off, give us 3 in midfield when defending and 2 up top when we attack.

22 Aug 2017 19:54:06
Or drop hutton, play elmohamady right back and play Snodgrass on the right?

22 Aug 2017 16:36:25
Ryan snograss close to joining if so thus is a great deal really like him and wow what a free kick.

22 Aug 2017 16:42:24
Is he any relation to Robert Snodgrass?

22 Aug 2017 16:48:37
As I said in another new post I hope that green does not become the fall guy if Snodgrass comes,
Is he coming in to replace houlinan if he goes to Brighton?

22 Aug 2017 17:15:02
Who is ryan?

23 Aug 2017 10:08:48
haha my fault i was typing qwick spell check lol.

23 Aug 2017 13:26:17
You've heard of spell check?!
Get out of here!

22 Aug 2017 13:16:07
Just heard the lads travelling tonight are:

Jed Steer
Mark Bunn
James Bree
Tommy Elphic
Ritchie De Laet
Mitch Clark
Gary Gardner
Jake Doyle-Hayes
Birkir Bjarnason
Callum O'Hare
Albert Adomah
Scott Hogan
Micah Richards
Ross McCormack
Easah Suliman
Khalid Abdo
Jordan Lyden
Jordan Cox

Good to see so many young lads getting a chance, and there should really be a first 11 in there to get us through to the next round however you'd have thought we would of kept some aspects of the team from Saturday in order to build momentum. I presume Ross, Gary and Micah are there to go in the shop window.

22 Aug 2017 13:53:17
Hope this is wrong btw, should be taking full strength and keeping momentum going.

22 Aug 2017 14:26:03
Would not take full strength side but would take a strong side based on the full strength side
my team would be
steer
DeLaett
Samba
Chester
Bjarnason
O'Hare
Jedi
Adomah
Hogan
Lydon
Suliman.

22 Aug 2017 14:32:22
And risk burn our for Friday's game at Bristol. Rest key players tonight play the fringe ones. They have points to prove.

22 Aug 2017 14:56:38
We don't need to risk the main starting ellevento injury. Think its a good decision to leave the main stay out. NOT bothered bout the cup games more concerned with our fights in the league and the possibility of promotion.

22 Aug 2017 11:13:19
I'm guessing a 3-0 victory for Villa against the Latics in today's League Cup match.

22 Aug 2017 12:49:50
We won't keep a clean sheet.

22 Aug 2017 16:32:06
Aston villa 2 vs 0 Wigan.

22 Aug 2017 10:25:26
Team for Tonight:

Johnstone
Bree Chester Terry Taylor
Elmo Whelan Hourihane Green
Davies Hogan

Keep defense and keeper the same so they carry on building confidence, keep Hourihane firing, experiment with two in the middle so we can get two up top and try to work out how to get Hogan firing. When his played on his own he makes all these runs and never gets found, Davies got the ball every run he made Saturday. We have to find a way to get him going and with some who can hold the ball, wait for support, lay it off to a midfielder who can then play in hogan, we might just see why we paid 12million for him. Then if it's comfortable by the 60th minute, send on O'hare, Doyle-Hayes, Lyden to get them more first team minutes.

22 Aug 2017 13:00:05
Swap out Bree for De Laet, Lansbury for Elmo, Whelan and Jedi (if fit) interchangeable, Green swapping wings as needed, and that's our strongest team at the mo for any game cup or league, and would be a pleasure to watch

22 Aug 2017 13:16:42
Lansbury as a right midfielder?

22 Aug 2017 17:43:19
Midfield 3, Green moving from wing to wing depending on if our full backs are overrun on 1 side, I'd be thinking Jedi or Whelan in front of the back 4, Lansbury and Hourihane right and left, but advanced when possible, 2 up top or 1 and a 'No10' which then becomes a 'diamond' formation, but I'd really like to see 2 up top with Hogan feeding off Davis, in my dream world it'd be Carroll and Hogan, but Davis has got to be given a run in the team going on what we've seen so far, and Hogan has got to catch fire at some point, I see it as we're Aston Villa, let the opposition worry about US, we've got what should be a pretty solid defensive unit behind those attack minded players, surely it's better to try to win from the off, we've got the players to do it?
