I've got a feeling that Samba joining could be a sign that Chester could be on his way, would love him to stay but if the money's right, what would you do? Let's face it, Prem clubs are paying ridiculously over inflated prices for just average players so wot's Chesters worth? and that's not meaning that I class him as average. Could a back 3 of Terry, Bree and Baker work if we're going with wing-backs? As a side note, saying Terry wouldn't cope with a full season of playing every game, isn't it his knowledge and reading of the game and that the Championship is probs not as fast paced as the Prem, that will be good for us/ him, especially if he's in a back 3?

Bree, the 5 foot nothing right back playing in a back 3? Selling Chester would be the most ridiculous thing that's happened that's happened with us in the least 3 years, and that's saying something. Are you feeling okay mate? Elphic more or less nailed on to be sold, so we sign samba, and that tells you we're selling Chester and playing a back 3 with bree in? One back up centre back out, one back up centre back in. Simple.

So that's how it's going to be on this forum now then.? Face facts, if Kodjia wasn't injured, he'd be gone by now, do I want him to go? Or Chester for that matter? No. File this under a lot on here getting excited about some Chinese team offering £25M+ for Amavi last year and everyone saying no, we need to keep our best players? Those posters are singing a different tune now? I just put things on here for discussion, but if some are going to act up like 'Trinny and Susanah' about it.? Chester was one of our top 3 players last year, and one of the best centre halves in the league. There are no reports linking him to leave, no rumours, yet you have a "feeling" his on his way out, because we signed samba. I think that maybe a 2+2=57 feeling.
And then you mentioned playing Bree the right back, at centre half, never played there in his life, isn't exactly guaranteed starter at the minute either. So you have to be able to see why you got the response you did. The ideas and "feelings" you express in the post seem a bit mental, but you are entitled to them ideas so fair enough. I just hope you aren't right about either of them.

Allyp 1972 don't take stuff to heart Iam hated on here but at the end of the day its banter. Now I just can't see Chester leaving as its well known that tommy Elphick is leaving. So that leaves us with 4 cbks JT will never play 46 games nor Samba facts are as you get older you get injuyed more. So anybody leaving will be Elphick. UTV mate give them some stick back.

Fair play Chris for a sensible reply, didn't say I wanted him to go, was just a wondering. Also, we got Terry in, not to replace someone who'd left, made him captain, which I might think would piss off Chester, you see where I'm going with this? As for Bree, before we bought him I read an article of a local to Barnsley newspaper about his attributes/ weaknesses, that said he would eventually move to centre half as his career progressed. All in all I think we should go 4-4-2 anyway, Green on the left or in a free role and find a team around that formation, try to win games, not just to not lose them

I'd rather 4 at the back as well, otherwise green and adomah (one of our best players last year) would have to be on the bench. Everyone is jumping on the 3 at the back because of Chelsea last year, Bruce has done it for years but with 2 up top, only thing Chelsea did differently was play 3 across the front, that could work for us but leaves us with 2 in the middle and it seems Jedinak works best with 2 around him. One things for sure is we have options, and competition for places, Bruce has 0 excuses.

How about Adomah and Green on the wings, Hourihane and Whelan defensive mid, Lansbury behind a No9 as he''s a playmaker and got an eye for goal, switch it up to bring an extra striker on if we're chasing a game, solid back 4 of De Laet, Terry, Chester and Taylor. Get shot of Amavi etc to free up some money for an end of transfer window spree but on cover in all positions depending on the ins and outs, then we'll be sweet as. Without any more incomings we definitely have the best squad in the division, and you're 100% right that Bruce will have no excuses. and, get behind everyone this season, manager, players even if they're not your 1st choice

If and it's a big if any of the cb's are to leave other than elphick who is pretty much gone I would guess it would be baker, I rate him and can see him being a key player once again this season, back 3 of JT, Chester and Baker two wing back and Jedi sat infront of the three dripping in if we get caught on the counter attack. As others have said one of the strongest squads in the league we just need to find a way of involving hourihane and Lansbury as they are our creative players who will get the forwards firing.
