In Villa's friendly against Walsall we've the first team for the first half and obviously out played them and then put the kids on mainly we even had a young kid Named burke from the academy up front he's came close to scoring working well with Bannan but Still need another striker
as this kid ent ready to step up

personally i think mcleish is copying of sir alex i bet hes planning 4/5 more signings which include nzogbia , vargas dann , defoe and kyle naughton

Your probably not far off the mark as he's already stated 100's of agents are ringing him 24/7 so it's prob to get them off his back so Villa can look at their targets
He also hasn't said he won't sign any more players just that this will be his last before the season starts as he wants to assess his squads strengths and then look to fill the weakness (even though we can all see the weaknesses but can't wait to see more of Albrighton, Delph, Bannan, Deflounso, Clark and i hope Ireland gets back to the form he had under Mark Hughes if so we'll have a good squad
i think we'll sign N'zogbia/Mcgeady
then near the transfer window close we'll bring in Naughton/Hutton, Defoe/Kalou, Pjanic/maringa,
And
Hitzlspuger and Upson on FREES
Whilst I believe the youngster have quality it would be better to introduce them gradually rather than filling 2/3 of the starting lineup with them, we saw last season that this didn't work. And although I agree that Ireland demonstrated talent @ City under Hughes he certainly didn't show that @ either Villa or Newcastle last season. Think the downside of the waiting game is that the target players may well have signed deals elsewhere. If the happens what's plan B ? Think it would be sensible to cover the weakneses of last season sooner rather than later and if that creates competition in the squad all the better.

OK, we know that RL & AM are trying to balance the books and need to offload some of the poor buys on high wages. But let's not forget that each league place is worth a little over £800k so the difference between 7th and 17th is £8m. Surely this has to be an incentive to sign players who are capable to ensuring Villa finishwhere we deserve to be, high in the Premiership.

It's to mu understanding big Eck fancies himself as the new alEX ferguson. He's going to try and compete with kids as fergie did with scholes, becks, butt etc etc. To words Eck; Not Happening We need someone with a spine to stand upto the board and create a spine through our team. We've got Given, we need a leader at the back, strong/scoring midfielder and Defoe to compliment Bent and put Gabbys nose out of joint Fed up with "we're signing no one else" and "we're looking for a right back" when we've got Young who's a work horse Same old same old I guess
Villa do have 5 quality youngstrs though Albrighton, Delph, Bannan, Deflounso and Clark and herd and Baker arent bad either Dune was a good strong leader at the back until GH came but we do need a striker having got rid of carew and heskey on way out we need other options than Bent and the emergance of Deflounso Cause Gabby can't hack it up front and would be better on the wing with his speed

I really hope Lerner doesn't pocket the money we got from Young and Downing. Get the wage bill down by selling Heskey, Beye etc and this will mean we have the money and stability to go for N'Zogbia, Parker, Hutton and/or others we have been linked with.
