Interesting comment from lambert tonight saying bent eke won't make boxing day match because of a so called injury, more like he doesn't want him to get injured before january window opens and a possible move away, villa must think we are all gullible persons.

I can't watch this anymore. Lambert is a good manager, no doubt about it, but I don't like his style of football. I want to watch flowing football, not pathetic long balls hoping for someone to tap it in, like our goal today.

We need a creative midfielder, defense is okay, with vlaar and okore, our midfield needs to be able to connect the two

Absolutely dire. Dismal performance.

Hi all.

Lamberts face on the touchline says it all.
I have said before he doe`s not have a plan B.
The tackles our team are making are RASH & RECKLESS, all down to lack of guidance and frustration.
We make no more than a couple of passes before giving the ball away, we look poor up front now, the list goes on.
I said last week PL is close to the door, Christmas and new year might see him kicked out of it!!

Paul Lambert must be sacked now. Today was his third straight loss (against a poor team). Lambert is just not good enough for Aston Villa, never has been. I am surprised that he even became manager of Aston Villa in the first place. Mister Lerner, appoint Villas-Boas instead, who is much better than Lambert.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

PL if he had any dignity you would resign, never seen a team this bad at villa if you played good football and lost I could take that, but the football is boring I will pick on 1 player it could be any player you bought, Bowery Kidderminster Harries are his level. FED UP

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed if lerner doesn't give him the boot now he is obviously madly in love with him

Agree0 Disagree0

Do me a favour Villa Boas? Sacked from 2 clubs, what more can one say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally he's not the man for the job but he's the best we have at the minute, I wouldn't blame him for the way we are playing we just ain't got the players to play any other way, we are a very poor team at minute who got lucky first handful games, but soon as the defence fell apart we showed we are poor.

we need a cb and at least 2 strong ball winners in midfield I think. maybe even a half decent winger to go other side of gabby

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoddle can't think of anyone better he would have to clear all lamberts buys out, probable get 4million plus benteckers and, he would take the job

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay. What about Guus Hiddink, Frank Rijkaard or Neil Lennon?

Agree0 Disagree0

When you say PL has not got the players, these are all his players, the money spent on the cheap imports would have have been better spent on 2 class proven players and in reply what about hiddink, rijkaard. do you think they would take the job and please no more Scottish managers

Agree0 Disagree0

About the players I know they are his but they are just not good enough, I know they was his choice but he's made the wrong choice, if he's not going buy 2-3 big names that will make a diffence to this team we are screwed. and as managers go why do people rate lennon? he's won the league in a country of 2 teams 1 of which has been relegated to the lowest league. if that man didn't win the league with celtic he would be worse than lambert

Agree0 Disagree0

Posters are listing proven managers as options. Why would any quality manager come to VP with Lerner at the helm? PL has had limited money to invest and even less to pay players. No wonder we have so many wannabies and not proven winners.

Without Vlaar we are easy pickings to any team that can kick a ball. The great shame is that Okores sustained an injury that will take some time to put right, had he been fit then we may not be in the situation we find at present.

The reallity is that we are exactly where we were at this period last year and the next 2 games are vital. Win and we improve, lose and we could be bottom 3.

At the front Benteke is letting us down, his head was turned in the summer and his apparent attitude is disgraceful, but remember all he gets are long balls to chase. Most of the players are dispirited and lack motivation.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is why I suggested that Lerner should appoint Andre Villas-Boas.

Lambert what a p*ss poor manager you really are, you stand there on the touchline with a totally blank look cause you don't know what to do to change the game. do us all a favour and p*ssoff back to norwich before its too late for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nah we've got a better manager now thanks

Always interesting to note how the teams performance reflects on the postings by supporters.
Today possibly the most critical match of the season. Lose and we are down with the struggle, win and we make a break towards the top half.
Even a draw would be acceptable as 1 pt could keep us above the struggle.
We have Palace next match and they are improving rapidly so we may settle for 1 pt there.
This is a vital period before the New Year and we need a minimum of 3 points from the next 3 games and if this does not happen we will be looking over our shoulders for the next few weeks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we get only 3 points from the next 3 games, we are definitely in trouble
We are a dreadful side

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax, we are in the proverbial. Today has dragged us into a dog fight and only other results make us look better than we really are. Without Vlaar we haven't got a chance and PL will have to buy another rock solid C/b if we are to continue in the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's going to take a lot more than Vlaar coming back mate
My own prescription would be a decent manager with a few quid to spend in January on 3 to 4 top class players
We're going down if we stay with Lambert
