Was watching Everton game last night and I can see why there interested in amavi, baines seen to be half the player we was a couple of season ago, my point is if they want him would barry be a good shout plus money our way because I do think barry will want to come back to the mighty villa to finish off his career he didn't leave on bad terms and think he still has a bit about him and can't get into the Everton team at the moment.

I remember him leaving on bad terms!

20 Dec 2016 19:12:25
Definitely got grief coming back as a player. would love him back. just not sure he would.

20 Dec 2016 20:51:55
if Amavi is going to go they should be asking for 20-25mil minimum, Everton paid 32 for bolasie and were willing to pay 30 odd for sissoko.

I always taught barry had siad he wanted to leave to go play champions league football it was a pitty when he did go we were starting to pit together a good squad, young millner downing carew larrson melberg petrov friedal good days when we went into most games with a great chance winning.

I agree mate.
Was a great team!

21 Dec 2016 08:29:21
Hate to say it but Gabby was in that team aswell.

21 Dec 2016 09:03:30
Jesus chris!

You have to ruin everything! Lol

He was in that team, but that team was full of men, and proper pros. can you see melberg, friedal, Larsen etc letting him behave the way he did? Or allowing his head to swell, or his fitness to drop?!

21 Dec 2016 10:51:36
Haha sorry, yea if like all the best clubs in Europe we had kept Larsen, mellberg and the like and then promoted them into coaching roles I don't think we would have seen the decline of Gabby, or delph leaving the way he did. Shame really that squad was leading us to something special but the ownership and managers somehow turned it the other way.

21 Dec 2016 11:25:04
Dead right mate.
We are where we are because of miss management. from the top, not actually towards the football!

But we had to hit the bottom so we can climb back up!

21 Dec 2016 18:23:37
Totally agree it was a great squad team full of pros with the odd youngster thrown in, I have to say the complete blame has to lie at learners hands o neill was building something and learner just sold barry and Co yeah o neill spent a lot off money and paid high wages on some older players but that what we need to do to break into them champions league positions flackie I know your Taughts on o neill but he did build that squad and he did get some average players playing good football, young or downing has barely kicked a ball since they left us
Well I think we have hit bottom and we are slowly climbing let's hope we keep climbing this time until we reach the peek.

21 Dec 2016 19:02:08
lol I don't blame O'Neil mate. I just don't think he leaves a legacy!
Man management, amazing!
Average players brainwashed to believe they are world beaters! Incredible!
But payed them world beaters wages.
We had an incredible team, full of average players. It just worked. he was the glue that pulled them together.
Once he walked, it fell apart!

21 Dec 2016 20:08:32
Yea I agree the blame lies at Lerners door, left a man leave because you won't spend 20m on Bent then sign him when his already left? And flog all our best players? Good one. I agree flackie he didn't leave a legacy but I think he could have left one had we not sold the squad and backed him.

22 Dec 2016 14:13:42
Sorry. Barry didn't leave on bad terms? He got absolute 'delph' style stick when he left and ripped into when he came back.

Also. did he not sign a new contract extension last week?

22 Dec 2016 19:44:58
I don't signing contracts really matter anymore just have to look at what the snake did last year.

20 Dec 2016 11:56:24
Football aside it's sad to lose anyone at any time but at Christmas it's just that little sadder so RIP all those involved in Berlin.

The world is a scary place at the minute mate.
Great post mate.

In my thoughts and prayers.
